The original name was The San Mateo Employees Credit Union. This name represents all those hard working individuals in San Mateo County. Then it was shortened to San Mateo Credit Union. Understandable. BUT whomever decided the name Monterra CU , so does that mean this bank is in Monterra , California? The original name shows history and class. Even the abbreviated name was good. I hope the suckass who came up with this name feels real good. I’d love to meet that person and tell them what a STUPID name . It takes you instead to Account View, which doesn’t have the option to label expenses and income. The only option is to leave a new memo. The photo was accepted and deposit added to my account. Then 2 weeks later the money was subtracted without any notice. I saw the debit and called accounting. They said the picture was partially blurry and they couldn’t read a section of the picture. Then why was it accepted? I have an account at other banks and their mobile app will reject the photo right away and tell you to re submit a new pic. This only happened once, but there is a way to improve your service. Both in the way the algorithm reads vital info of the check virtually so it would prevent the check from being submitted before it has this info and policy wise, a member of the staff should always reach out to a member by phone email or at least text before reversing the transaction, so no one is inconvenienced in this manner. It only happened once after 100’s of deposits, but it was a negative experience that should be fixed. When I kindly reported this to a staff member, I was rudely told that things your policy and that you all don’t do personalized banking. Whatever that meant. Zelle stopped working for the past several months and it’s tied to the banking app so I can’t even use the actual Zelle app. Looking at other reviews, other people have this problem and Monterra does not seem intent on changing it. That's terrible for security and only results in higher risk for getting hacked and accounts getting locked and needing a full customer support reset more frequently. If I could even access my account I might just take my money out and close this account... But I can't because I'm constantly locked out. Also having no face ID login is a little crazy to me at this point. That is standard across almost all other apps I have and use.
