For those familiar with the intricate puzzles of the first two games, this installment feels significantly easier, almost a leisurely stroll. Clocking in at around an hour for a complete playthrough, it sadly lacks the satisfying complexity that defined its predecessors. But the beginning of the level, all that guiding the boat around, what a pain. Just make decent levels. The coding of this level, and chapter 11 specifically, is not on the same level as the first 2 games. There are weird glitches where items seem to move thru other items. So disappointing this company sold out to Netflix. But wish the Apple Pencil worked in the game. I see another reviewer mentioned the same thing. Lack of Apple Pencil support is a huge disappointment. Navigation, especially of the boat, was difficult because your hand blocks the screen. iPad Pro, iOS 18.2 I've completed all levels, and while enchanting, it's not very challenging. Took my review down to one star. Years later I still experience something special when I play MV III. Some people will nitpick and complain that it doesn’t live up to the first two games, but the very nature of experience makes it almost impossible to live up to the magic that you felt on your first encounter with something so unique. It simply can’t have the impact of your first time because it won’t have the elements of surprise and newness. That is the Law of Diminishing Returns, and it can’t be avoided. But that doesn’t mean the new experience can’t hold beauty and delights of its own. Instead of focusing on what you think is lacking, try focusing on the new gameplay features, the new art and audio that add to the experience. They clearly put the same effort into making this game that went into the others. The game is accessible and familiar but it’s also feels grander and more epic in certain ways. I haven’t completed the game yet because I want to savor what I’m guessing will be the last chapter of a Monument Valley Trilogy.
