### 4/5 — Helpful

*2023-03-11*

This app has helped me regulate myself in many ways. I particularly like the ability to create my own activities and personalize the list of commitments.

I don’t like the fact that it is so easy to clear all my commitments without intending to. “Clear” doesn’t remove the items I checked off; it removes everything. And if I’ve competed a task, it disappears from my commitments unless I affirmatively recommit.

I wish there were a way to group the journal entries by task so I could review progress.

### 4/5 — Beware of lost data

*2022-02-20, version 3.3*

**Beware: you will lose your journal entries and other data if you have to reinstall the app.**
I had been very pleased with this app until I upgraded my iPhone, after which the app no longer worked. In order to reinstall the app, I first had to delete it, which erased all my app data with no choice to save it. If you have significant information in your daily journal, I would recommend copying it to some other app in order to back it up.

### 4/5 — New session button

*2021-02-28, version 3.3*

Can you add an option to create a new journal session on the last step, once a session is recorded in the journal.

### 5/5 — Energized

*2020-06-30, version 3.3*

This is a wonderful find. I’m 77 years old and I’ve been chronically depressed all my life, more so lately caring for severely disabled husband combined with isolation of pandemic. My shoulders slumped, I shuffled, had difficulty doing yoga poses. My depression manifests as inertia. My house is a mess and I did little except the minimum needed to get by. The first day I used this app, I completed seven commitments and felt so energized. I actually began doing the things I need to do to get the house in order. The second day I didn’t do so much, only three commitments , but I remembered my commitment to be kind to myself and didn’t feel guilty about it. And I finally started the taxes!!! 😀😀😀
Thank you. I think this is the beginning of a new life for me.

### 4/5 — Great, but wish there was iCloud sync/backup

*2020-03-18, version 3.3*

This is a great app, but I wish there was a way you could sync the data to iCloud, so that there is a way to exchange data between devices. It seems that if the app gets deleted, the stored entries in your iPhone/iPad get deleted as well. This is important to me because I like to keep track of prior entries to notice patterns.

### 5/5 — Awesome until:

*2019-09-08, version 3.2*

So I downloaded this app last week on Thursday or Friday, and started using it right away! I love this app, and am very happy with the shear amount of knowledge it has to offer as well the amount of tips and exercises it also has to offer, 200+ not including the ones that can be created by the user. But, Everytime I try and sync it with my calendar, it closes out on me and never saves it to my calendar at all! I had this happen 3 times yesterday (Saturday) within an hour. Then 2 more times in the evening. Bug... Glitch... Not sure what is going on, but not one sync has happened with the calendar. To which is this a feature I must have inorder for me to use this app? No, but I thought I'd bring it to the developers attention. Otherwise I would highly recommend this app to anyone suffering with mental health.

### 5/5 — The creators of this app get it

*2019-08-02, version 3.1*

They just get it. They get it with their questions, feedback, suggestions, etc. Fantastic app that has genuinely affected my life positively.

### 4/5 — Add Half Numbers LOVE this app though!

*2019-07-02, version 3.1*

I like the look of the app and ease of
use. Great suggestions for keeping things on track. I track my mood multiple times a day, especially of Im having an episode of depression. I can easily chart and then carry on. Four stars because I think the actual charting could be better. Maybe build in a reminder to chart your mood a few times per day. ALSO HUGE SUGGESTION please add half numbers to the charting. Sometimes Im a 5.5 not quite a 6 but not a 5 or 4. This would be a great addition to the charting feature. THANK YOU MOOD CHART!

### 5/5 — Great tool

*2019-05-14, version 3.1*

Mood Kit is a great tool to have with you. It is so easy to use. The thought tracker has helped me thru some really challenging situations. I find it incredibly practical and easy to use and it successfully helps me keep negative thoughts in check. I highly recommend it

### 3/5 — Great functionality, but needs to be updated for iPhone X

*2018-10-21, version 3.1*

The functionality on this app is amazing. Very powerful. But the UI is lacking. It’s a bit complicated to use. And it doesn’t take advantage of the full screen on iPhone X.

### 5/5 — So far I love it. Even brought it for my wife.

*2018-10-04, version 3.1*

Haven’t done the activities yet but the thoughts is invaluable. Wish that once thoughts session have been saved it disappears. It says it’s saved but all the data remains and there’s no way to start a new session without hitting the back button which makes you feel like something is wrong with this process.

### 5/5 — It’s like having a therapist in your pocket

*2018-07-31, version 3.1*

Very nice app! Many proven therapeutic techniques have been woven into the various excersies. It also has some nice mood tracking functionally.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — App crashes

*2021-08-20, version 3.3*

I just purchased and downloaded this app today and can’t even start to use it. I tap the app and it immediately crashes!! It wont even open! I have an iPhone 12 Pro. What’s going on? If it can’t be fixed will you please refund me the $5?

### 1/5 — Waste of money

*2020-08-26, version 3.3*

For 5 bucks the app should work. It launched after install and I started doing some stuff in it. After I closed it I went back a little later and it constantly crashes. It was up to date and no reason it shouldn't be running. Delete it and lose all my data. What a waste of time. Refund please!!

### 1/5 — Boring layout, waste of money

*2018-07-16, version 3.1*

It’s not at all what I expected. I thought there’d be more to work with. It’s so disorganized and cheaply made. There are better CBT apps out there. I used it for 3 days and found nothing in it that I didn’t already know or that was helpful in any way. You’d be better off buying a self-help book and a real journal to write in. Better yet, just see a therapist so that you get some real help.
 There goes a wasted $5.

### 1/5 — Contact me immediately

*2018-04-27, version 3.1*

I could find no other way to contact the software administrators other than through this review process. OK. So be it. Why are the forced choice moods from which I must choose, unanimously negative? Is it inconceivable I might want to record a positive mood? You need a "contact us" option.

### 2/5 — Frustrating

*2023-08-03*

I really tried to like this app. But the new update has ruined the whole thing for me. As someone without insurance, I pay out of pocket for everything. Now you can’t pay for premium, at all. First they made it where you couldn’t buy premium for life anymore, THEN they now make it where you can’t buy it at all?? Then what is even the point?? The only thing I use on this app anymore is the hope board. If you TRULY cared about helping people, you’d not lock critical parts of the app. The creators took 2 hard blows as far as I’m concerned. If I find another app that has anything like the hope board I will no longer use this app.

**Developer response:** Hello! Thank you very much for your feedback. We appreciate your comment and will consider it while working on future versions of the app. If you have any further suggestions or ideas please let us know at support@thriveport.com. Thank you for helping our team to make the app better! Best regards, Support Team

### 2/5 — Keeps Crashing

*2020-04-20, version 3.3*

I just paid for this app and was excited to start using it but it keeps crashing. It won’t even open up for me to use. I’m really disappointed cos I chose this over moodnotes.

Could you please give an update or something ?

### 3/5 — Great app but their support will not respond

*2023-01-28, version 3.3*

The APP is great. But if you have a problem and contact the apps support, don’t expect a response. After waiting a week I got no response. I was frustrated, so I just deleted and reinstalled my app which caused me to lose my previous data. Very disappointing.

### 3/5 — Glitch in the Activities

*2022-08-19, version 3.3*

I downloaded the app today. There is a glitch on the Activities page. I can go into other activities, but it only gives me the information for the Entertainment activity. I need to go out of the app and re-enter each time I want to perform a different function. Not sure if I can fix this on my end, but I already purchased the app.

### 3/5 — Glitchy and boring UI, lots of activities

*2020-01-24, version 3.2*

I’ve just started using this app so hopefully it will get better and I’ll become more attached as I use it. I’ve turned on fingerprint authentication and now the app glitches and crashes every time I try to open the app. First time it took three crashes before it finally opened. Unfortunately for the app I was just getting crashed on logins two times before it finally ran and I was able to open the app where it immediately asked me to rate. So, the breadth of activities seems to be good, I just ran through random activities. I wish there were more statements based on the aspect to help place myself on the slides for determining the focus areas.

The UI just seems less graphically appealing than more recent apps. The icons could be more rounded boxes and less cluttered on the landing screen. Plus, the quick start guide would have been great if it was a few opening slides when I entered the app. My first opening was super overwhelming and so I had no idea what to do or where to go. So a quick run through of what the app can do would have been really nice.

UPDATE: Just bought the iPhone 11 and I can’t even open the app anymore. It glitches and then closes, yet is showing up in my list of open apps but when I try to select it- crash. Will be trying to figure out how to get my money back for sure.

**Developer response:** Thank you for reaching out. It's important that we understand how the crash issue occurred. Please, can you provide more details on this matter to our support service (support@apalon.com)? We will do our best to make the app better and visually attractive for you in the next update. Thank you for sharing your feedback with us.

### 3/5 — Mood Journal-Thoughts to Thrive

*2019-08-20, version 3.2*

I have been using the app for a couple of years, use it regularly and even share my work with my counselor who is also a fan. It would be ideal and encouraging if I could record and track positive thoughts and emotions. My thought life is not a constant negative flow, and I am catching a distortion much quicker (which is the goal of the app). The given choices of emotions is negative, small and restricted. The app has great potential, and I would give a higher rating if there was a broader range of emotions (especially those which deal with ambiguity). I would like to identify distortions but also see the patterns toward positive change.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Extremely beneficially and useful app!!

*2022-12-02, version 3.3*

Whenever I am struggling I come back to this app to journal and sort out my thoughts. It has so many helpful tips and actions to take if you are stuck in rumination. Having ADHD my thoughts tend to race and I am easily overwhelmed so this app just gives me a private place to brain dump, get ideas, and then move on. I never write reviews and I often download apps that I use only once and delete but this is the one app I have always kept on my phone and used for the past couple of years. I haven’t found a better one! The interface is simple and not distracting.

### 5/5 — So simple yet helpful

*2022-06-02, version 3.3*

This helps me journal in a way that is actually helpful. Waiting until the end of the day to write things down can be overwhelming, but this app allows me access to journaling at any time I want. It also helps me track my mood without getting too complicated. My favorite thing is to write down a thought. This walks you through thinking it out by suggesting examples of how you might be looking at the situation with a distorted thinking pattern. Great app that has helped me a lot.

### 5/5 — Very useful tool

*2022-02-10, version 3.3*

I use this app regularly for individuals in my therapy practice for CBT monitoring of their triggers and situations, cognitive distortions, moods, etc. As I have become more familiar with it I am increasingly impressed with how many features there are and how well thought out it really is. I work mainly with mindfulness-based cognitive behavioral therapy and this app has included every element needed to follow this therapy. The price point is affordable for everyone. My only complaint is that as far as I know, it is not available on anything other than iPhones currently. I have not found another app for my clients who do not use iPhones.

### 5/5 — Highly recommend

*2021-12-12, version 3.3*

I really love this app. One of my favorite things is that you can make your own templates. One thing I would like to see done is make folders or some way to organize your entries other than type & date. Overall, this app has helped me a lot.

### 5/5 — What I needed

*2021-03-23, version 3.3*

I was looking for a mood tracker and found this. It is doing a great job of tracking my moods and a lot more. I am a fan of the CBT approach to dealing with mental issues, so this app hits a lot of what I like. I should also mention that I am not the type of person to use their phone for much more than calls, texts, and Internet access. So I’m really not used to spending time with apps.

With the reminders that can be customized and the knowledge that difficult or painful patterns can be addressed immediately without looking up one of my templates or worksheets, this app is getting a lot of use.

### 5/5 — advice

*2021-03-04, version 3.3*

i purchased the app about three weeks ago and it stopped opening after a few days on my phone. i can still access the app on my ipad.

this isn’t a negative review. the app is great, but i need it on my phone to access through the day. i have a severe TBI and my psychologist recommended the app for us to use during therapy to track the days to reveal patterns and how they affect me. moodkit is the perfect tool for it.

my phone has been restarted and is updated.

thank you!

### 5/5 — Incredibly Helpful

*2020-12-14, version 3.3*

MoodKit has been incredibly helpful in managing my anxiety and improving my ability to deal with stressors and maintain emotional equilibrium. The thought and heart that went into designing this app is remarkable and clearly with the goal of helping people. Just wanted to share my heartfelt thanks and let you know that you are making a real difference and improving lives.

### 5/5 — Fantastic result in minutes

*2020-11-10, version 3.3*

I just bought this app and dove in to try it out without reading or having any idea how it worked. It prompted questions after measuring my level of (in this case it was) demoralization. I felt it at 85%. More questions and prompts were asked and answered and I was asked to rate that level of demoralization again (3 minutes later) and it was a 40%. I can’t say this will work for everyone but I’ve read enough self help to latch right onto the ideas presented and (at least today, right now) they helped me feel better. And to think, I was only looking for some way to record my daily moods never dreaming they’d improve!

### 5/5 — Has helped me so much!

*2020-08-27, version 3.3*

I have depression and OCD. This program is exactly what my therapist has me do in terms of marking my moods. It’s just nice to do it in an app and not a sheet of paper I’ll likely lose. The note function with the rating really helps me think about what’s going on and how I’m feeling about it. Wonderful app. Thank you!

### 5/5 — Wonderful app

*2020-07-08, version 3.3*

I searched through many, many highly rated apps for my son before I came upon MoodKit. After just a couple of days, I knew I’d found the right one and started using it myself as well. I had no idea how many thought distortions I’d been experiencing (no wonder he has them!) and am already generalizing by catching and adjusting my thoughts in the moment. I love the simplicity of the activities and how easily they can be embedded into daily life. I recommend selecting a few at a time to focus on until they become habitual, then gradually adding more. I love this app and will be recommending it to many!
