Really inspiring and creative tool! ### 5/5 — Great app *2017-06-23* Got this app recently along with the piano app. It's very easy to use and even a simpleton like me can use it. Only thing stopping it get 5 ⭐️ from me is no Audiobus support or the ability to record and export. As it is I just leave this and the pianoscaper app running at the same time in the background when I a relaxing. Give me either of the above and it's a 5 ⭐️ app. At least Mixtikl allows you to record and export, but that is far more complicated and fiddly to use. This in my opinion is the better app for it's ease of use and the sound is awesome 👏😎 I am so close to giving it 5 but without either those features I have to drop the score. Please include in a further update. I am gagging to give this the 5 ⭐️ Amended my review a bit. Thank you for the developer for up clearing up the IAA support. Audiobus would just be a bit better if you want to get multiple instruments and at the same time without a DAW. Still a great app and I shall look forward to giving the iaa a go. Thank you to the developers for the reply and informing me of the IAA. Definitely a way to get me start. I said I'd give it stars if they allowed recording but put in audiobus and I will give it 6. Thanks again to the developers. However, moodscaper does support Apple's Inter-App Audio standard (IAA) so it's possible to record moodscaper's audio in apps that can host IAA generators, such as AUM. I was brought up on analogue synths, and for years have been looking for an app that could produce these amazing washes of sound similar to my old Roland Juno 6. Even through the iPad Pro speakers it sounded good, through headphones it just blew me away. What's missing is a Pro version including Link, AudioBus compatibility, etc, etc, but for ambient relaxation this version is the best. Nic ### 4/5 — Beautiful and functional, works with AUM and is great in studio and live *2017-01-07, version 1.9.8* First, if you want a manual most developers have one on their website which is linked here at the bottom of the app's description page (App Developer's Website). My advice is to open it in Safari and the select "Open in iBooks...", which is located at the top of the Safari window (this is true for any PDF loaded into Safari). iBooks automatically saves the PDF which then can be organized into a "Synths" category if desired. Ok, about Moodscaper, it's a beautiful app which currently loads into AUM and routed into AudioBus but not AudioBus itself. However, the included sounds are wonderful. Adding your own sounds is easy and the current functionality is good. Future functionality looks to be excellent. Highly recommended for its future feature and upcoming features. I advice looking at the developers website and YouTube channel to learn much about Moodscaper. There's another popular iOS music app YouTuber who has some excellence videos about this app. Personally I'm using Moodscaper more and more in my productions. I also you it live with a band I play in as I really enjoy generators or generative apps (going back to Bloom). ### 4/5 — Surprisingly good *2016-11-30* Ambience for when nature sounds and meditation music gets tiresome at work. Use it alone or with other apps via any inter app audio compatible app. I highly recommend all of the scaper series apps this developer offers. A lot of fun for those who love music. ### 5/5 — Ambient Blissfulness *2019-05-05* I’ve had this app for quite some time now, a couple of years at least, and I never tire of it. So many times I have run it in the background while working or reading or simply relaxing. As an iOS musician I have also incorporated it into my music making with wonderful results. It is IAA compatible and works with any of the standard iOS DAWs. I use it in Cubasis. Initially, the layout seems rather cryptic but it doesn’t take long to know your way around the user interface. This app is one of those gems I’m very glad I found! ### 5/5 — The very best .. *2019-03-15* .. apps Mood, Piano & Guitar Scapers if like me you wish to make a sound track to accompany a video. I can do this whilst the video is playing, no other app that I as a non-musician have found can do this so comprehensively. I can create differing moods to complement the tone and subject of the video easily. Superficially the Scaper’s may seem to be very simple but a few weeks of playing with them reveals subtleties that are not initially apparent. They are now like an orchestra at my finger tips. Cheers Rob. PS [edit] A bonus that’s not mentioned in some of the reviews I’ve read is being able to use ALL the Scaper’s in AUM simultaneously if you wish. PSS Should anyone think that I am being sycophantic, please be informed that I made a Weird Sound Generator and a Benjolin (Google) and used the free offerings from YT before I found Moodscaper. I’d been hoping that I would find something like it since 2016, so there! :-) ### 5/5 — Lovely instrument. Review update *2019-03-10* Heard back from the dev regarding AudioShare and it reminded me to update my review. I went from 4 stars to 5 stars even though AudioShare is not supported. Using iTunes to transfer my own sounds to Moodscaper is quite simple- albeit a bit clumsy. Still, Moodscaper is a fantastic ambient sound design and performance instrument. Moodscaper also helps me to get new perspectives and ideas about sounds and music I’m working on because I can just load the sounds in and explore. Like playing with audio legos :-) — Very well designed instrument. Lots of potential, particularly with the ability to load my own sounds. And that’s where the major flaw comes in. The inability to share/transfer sounds between apps is a deal breaker for me. At the very least, the Moodscaper should be compatible with AudioShare. When I’m using my iPad to do sound design, I have to transfer the completed sound(s) to iTunes on my Mac and then transfer them back to the iPad in order to get the sounds into Moodscaper. Please make Moodscaper compatible with AudioShare. All of the apps I use for synthesis, sound design and processing are compatible with AudioShare and allow me to quickly transfer my files without using an external machine. **Developer response:** Sorry for the lack of AudioShare support - I will certainly keep this in mind for an update. However, as moodscaper has no built-in recorder, as a workaround, you could use an app like AUM as an IAA host to record the output from moodscaper, and share the captured recording. Any IAA host that supports generators, should work fine. Hope this helps. ### 5/5 — Lovely sounds *2019-02-23* How rude of the reviewer who gave one star! There’s no pleasing some people. You can make some beautiful sounds with this app or press a button and let it create something different every time on its own. Even if you don’t know how to use it, just press anything randomly and it sounds magical.
