How wonderful it is to be able to go to the app and just listen to sound and wholesome teaching. How refreshing! Though I attend my own church, Moody has been my second home church. The radio station has been a place of worship on those days when I couldn’t be at church in person. When I was at the hospital bedside. When I was feeling down in my car. I’ve been truly blessed by this incredible ministry. May God bless it all the more, help it to prosper continually and use it to turn many hearts - worldwide - back to God. If I wish to listen to a station on the West coast or the East coast I should not have to cough up my exact location. And a few years back this was possible. But today someone at Moody became anal retentive and hence the Moody experience has been tarnished. Moody, reverse direction and do the right thing. Moody unnamed developer: thank you for the explanation; however I was aware of the Moody app options. Can you share with the Moody app users the hidden reason why you want users exact location? And please avoid being vague….thank you. ………Update 2/6/25….To the nameless developer: But you are not asking for user location. You are asking for exact user location. Perhaps within 10 feet or less. Why? Other apps ask for location based on a nearby city. Such as the Apple weather app. This makes sense. But you are asking for much more than the nearest city. Again, why? You can’t blame this approach on the constraints of the Moody app itself, because Moody’s developers are the ones who designed the app the way it is. And as to: “There is also no way within our infrastructure for our development team to see our user’s exact location as it is a localized event on the individuals smartphone device that is encrypted to protect our user privacy” - please don’t put your users in a position where we have to trust your words….please fix the app so that inputting the nearest city is all that’s needed…..and thanks for listening. Update: 3/30/25: Why would you need a users exact location when a simple zip code would work very well? When you keep insisting on knowing user exact locations, when there is no valid reason, it sure makes the individuals behind the app development look suspicious. Even with fear tactics - “one medical emergency could wipe out your whole savings”. This is bad for the classic Moody Ministries to do. Just wrong. Over and over we get this ad. So now I just shut it off until it’s over - but then much later turn on the app until it happens again. And when using the Proclaim button to hear various ministers speak, it’s stutters and stops. I have to start it again. It stutters and stops and I need to start it again… both on my phone and my mother’s phone in a different city. Yet humanity can be inconsistent, and some people live by double standards, double-mindedly shifting between what sounds spiritually grounded and what is actually self-centered and self-serving. Sadly, there are people in our lives who claim to know the Lord, yet their words, actions, and deeds have no resemblance to Jesus. The Lord’s Prayer says, “Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” That applies to every person who claims to be a Christian.
