Then it’s really slow to operate and someone that wants to play a song on my phone would have no idea of the process it takes to do it. This new version erased all my existing playlists. Thanks. Not. Very slow to update “now playing” album cover. Sometimes it doesn’t update at all. This time all my playlists disappeared (and they have before). Proper testing prior to release would improve success. When working properly it is a good app. Thank you for ditching the sepia toned next/previous cover art. So much nicer left alone. ### 4/5 — iOS 16.2 causing MiND shutdowns *2022-12-25* I just updated my iPhone 14 Pro to the latest iOS 16.2, and suddenly it’s causing my 380D DAC to shut down. I think it’s related to the MiND and the MiND controller app. If your iPhone goes into screen saver mode and you open it back up while it’s streaming to the MiND, it causes the DAC/MiND to completely shut down and turn off. You can use the app then to turn it all back on again. I’m running the latest MiND controller and have an internal MiND2 unit. **Developer response:** Hello. Sorry for the late response. The Moon Team ### 2/5 — Décevant *2022-11-26, version 2.3.6* J’aime énormément mon ampli et DAC Moon, pour la qualité sonore exceptionnelle. Hélas au niveau de l’appli, c’est loin d’être au point. Erreurs fréquentes, connectivité Wi-Fi complexe - voire impossible, et on nous limite à quelques fournisseurs de streaming choisis par Moon pour leur « qualité exceptionnelle ». Malheureusement, en tant que consommateur, je préférais qu’on me donne le choix, et que SimAudio s’efforce de développer une application fonctionnelle et fiable. I can instead lug the Ace unit and the remote feature will work for 24-48 hours and then the app can no longer get find my Ace on the network. The Bluetooth feature to steal music still works. The MOON Team. ### 1/5 — Long time user *2021-10-29, version 2.2.1* The latest update is unusable garbage. ### 1/5 — Absolutely horrible *2021-07-10, version 2.2.1* Every 3 or 4 weeks the app just completely stops working, the only solution is to delete and then reinstall then I loose my saved playlists etc ### 2/5 — What happened to SimAudio? *2021-04-21, version 2.2.0* I have three Sim Audio components and the Mind app worked great, until recent updates, it works poorly with Spotify and looses connection with my 280D everyday. Emails to SimAudio have gone unanswered. ### 3/5 — Basic functionality, but could be so much better *2021-04-02* Basic controls all work. But why does Tidal library have a sort function for My Music but Qobuz does not for Favorites? Why, when choosing an album from My Music in Tidal, must I go back to the top of My Music when I back out? (I already scrolled past all those albums and want to continue scrolling down.) I think if the programming team actually used this app - can they even afford Moon gear? - it could be way more functional. Best regards, the MOON Team. ### 3/5 — Somewhat improved but room for more (music more) *2021-01-10* I will give it 3 out of 6. But only due to the signal/music quality when it works. Had a Moon neo mind 1. Absolute hated both the hardware and app. A disaster product. Barely ready for any serious release to the customers. Countless mails exchanged with moon. I compared my moon unit with a DCS unit as moon claimed the problem was related to my network. DCs worked without issues at all. Send the unit for check after consulting the danish distributor after reaching out to other Hifi people via various forums etc, and they apparently found something as they offered my a new mk.II unit. Despite they claim all was ok. This mk.II unit is much better. Gone is the constant lacking and waiting for the garbage app to reload. But. Still the app will freeze up. It app does not like to go in sleep mode or you leaving same and the iPad goes in “sleep” mode. Then it will over time start to be slow and again this reload thing comes back. Front LEDs of the hardware will stop to indicate any real info. It is locked in the last bit rate before it froze up. Secondly it cannot go in standby via the app. It will state same but won’t. App won’t be able to locate the unit on the network either. Front button for standby will also stop working. Work around so far. Reset by powering the unit off and on via the main switch. Developers have improved the app greatly. First generation hardware and app sw I hated. Second is much better, but still have issues. I fail to understand how this are accepted by moon. My unit is an entry model. I got it as I wanted to explore the streaming possibilities and the hardware had received decent reviews. But same sw and app is used for their high end products. Now. Positive things. The implementation of the browser history is great. So you can go back to start with out hammering the “one step” back icon. Signal/music quality is in my ears excellent. So please fix the reload issue, network issue and the bug with the unit freezing. With the present condition I won’t go for moon equipment in the future but will look elsewhere. Simaudio mentionne qu’il travaille sur le problème, mais ne donne pas de précision sur le retour à la normale. At best I can bring up the music from my Melco network, attached storage and place some songs into my queue. However, I can’t get the songs to play audibly. Subsequent attempts to add to or modify my queue don’t fix the problem. Neither does deletion and reinstallation of this app. At this point, I will not be recommending anyone buy this product (Moon by Simaudio 380D) or similar streamers from this company. ### 1/5 — 2025 ???? *2025-12-07, version 2.6.7* Svp amélioré l application sinon je vais être obligé de changer de manufacturier ### 1/5 — Poor interface and doesn’t work well *2024-11-28* The functionality is poor, and the app doesn’t always play audio even with restarts of the app or the phone. The problem nterface is not intuitive. They should fire their UX designer and get this thing revamped. ### 1/5 — Abysmal *2024-11-16, version 2.6.1* Absolutely abysmal software and firmware. The 791 keeps hanging for no reason, the Mind app crashes, disconnects, hangs and is virtually unusable. I’ll give it a few more days and return the system. This isn’t a new problem, Simaudio need to sort their software team out. Haven’t encountered any bugs. Takes a little to get used too at first but overall pretty good! Hoping Amazon Music comes soon :(. ### 5/5 — Works well *2024-09-14* I have been using this app for a year. I use it standalone and with Roon. I have used it with the 390 and now the 891. I use the 891 for streaming from Qobuz and in balanced mode for theater bypass. I listen to music and watch movies every day. I do have excellent wifi. I have had essentially no difficulty managing the system with the app. I do wish the 891 could at least turn on and off and change inputs with Alexa. Now, can we please please please get native support for Amazon Music HD beside Tidal et al :-D ### 5/5 — Improved: works well *2019-10-11* Used with a Mind 2, the app is now stable and straightforward to use. I use it only with Asset upnp and tune in radio: works flawlessly with both on all source material. HOWEVER, both reliable access and stability depend on having a wired internet connection. On WIFI — with an excellent router and solid signal — the Mind 2 and app did function, but often did not connect without multiple attempts, and there were some streaming interruptions. With wired connection direct to the router, no problems. Next update should include a home button and source button on all screens. After today’s update, you may need to run a firmware update on the Mind2 itself; otherwise the app may lock up, as mine did. I am writing a positive review unlike the people who moan but never praise when problems are solved. Well done to the developer for keeping their APP fresh and modern. ### 5/5 — Excellent - reliable and easy to use *2018-11-06, version 2.0.4* I’ve found version 2.04 to be excellent. It is ‘rock solid’ and maintains connection to my MiND brilliantly as well as being easy to use. I particularly like how it shows you the details of the music playing in terms of resolution details (useful for files which are better than CD). ### 5/5 — Problems resolved with version 2.04 *2018-09-10, version 2.0.4* Previous versions were unacceptably bad. My iPad did not connect with my streamer/DAC. Given the price of the hardware the App needed improvement. After contacting the company and my dealer, and after the arrival of version 2.04 all appears to have been resolved, as it is working flawlessly with my Mind 2 780D. I can’t speak for its functioning with legacy products but it is to Simaudio’s credit that they re endeavouring to make it backwards compatible.
