## What is Moongate?

Moongate puts every Klipper 3D printer you own on one dashboard, at home or anywhere.

It connects straight to your own Raspberry Pi running Klipper and Moonraker. Pair once by scanning a QR code, and Moongate reaches your printer directly on your Wi-Fi, or securely over an encrypted tunnel when you are away.

No account, no email, no password. Sign-in is anonymous, and there are no ads, no analytics, and no tracking.

### 0.9.65 — 2026-09-05

The Macros button on each printer tile is now a full Control panel. Alongside your macros it brings heater targets and motion controls - homing, jogging, extrude and retract - into one sheet, arranged the way you want: reorder, rename and recolour the temperature, motion and macro sections, or start from the Essential, Motion or Macros presets. Any Klipper macro can become a labelled button with its own icon, colour and parameters, and the exact command is shown for you to review before it runs. It all saves per printer and travels in your backups.

The config editor now understands Klipper. Editing printer.cfg suggests the right section and option names as you type, warns about values that don't look right before you save, and lets you edit a macro's G-code inline. The console gained command completions to match.

The File System browser can now hide the clutter: Klipper's automatic SAVE_CONFIG snapshots, .bak files, hidden dotfiles and the timestamped backups other tools leave behind. A remembered checkbox brings them back whenever you need them.

Settings backups now provably carry every setting, and the preheat sheet fills the full width in landscape.

### 0.9.62 — 2026-09-03

Two new tools on every printer tile, under its temperatures:
- Console: the printer's live G-code console as an overlay. Recent history is already loaded, updates stream in while it's open, errors show in red, quick-command chips fill the input without sending, and tapping a past command reuses it. It stays available mid-print and even while Klipper is in an error state, exactly when you need it.
- File System: browse the printer's config folder and open printer.cfg (and friends) in a structured editor. Setting names stay fixed as labels, you edit only the values, and your comments and layout survive a save. A backup is taken on the printer before your first change, and Save and restart watches Klipper come back up, with one-tap restore if it doesn't.

Also in this update:
- Cameras recover instead of failing quietly: a custom camera address that stops answering, or a webcam entry pointing at a removed camera service, falls back to the printer's own camera with a visible notice, and a printer whose plugin is too old to serve its camera now says so.
- Opening a printer's page for the very first time no longer fails when it was discovered by hostname (the name.local style answer iPhones often store); existing installs heal on the next discovery.
- The plugin update badge now nudges for plugin 0.6.25: a tunnel watchdog that heals a dropped remote tunnel by itself, the MOONGATE_STATUS diagnostic macro, and printer-error, pause and custom MOONGATE_NOTIFY push notifications on iPhone. Hand-installed plugins get honest re-copy instructions instead of a dead update button.
- The guided tour can no longer get stuck, and it now introduces the new tools.

### 0.9.60 — 2026-08-11

Everything since 0.9.55, in one update:

- Multiple cameras on one printer: a new switch button on the tile and the full-screen view picks which camera to show, and the choice is remembered per printer (needs plugin 0.6.22+; tiles flag printers running an older plugin)
- Compact tiles (webcam hidden) now keep the full quick-action row: pause, resume, stop and the lighting toggle right on the tile
- Tap-to-pair: opened the pairing page on this phone? Tap the link under the QR and the app pairs directly, no scanning needed
- The time-left chip now matches Mainsail estimates, averaging the same file, filament and slicer sources
- The printer page follows the dashboard onto home WiFi instead of sticking on the tunnel
- A dead or mistyped camera now says "Camera unreachable, check its address" instead of spinning forever
- Local discovery can no longer store an unusable link-local address and strand a same-network printer on the tunnel
- Direct (LAN/VPN) printers: the zero-cloud promise is now enforced in the app itself

### 0.9.55 — 2026-07-27

Everything since 0.9.51 in one update:

- go2rtc / WebRTC webcams now display: on the dashboard tile, in the full-screen camera, and playing live inside the printer page.
- See when a print will finish, right on the dashboard: a time readout appears while printing, showing time left or the projected finish time (menu > Dashboard layout).
- 3rd-party printer support: machines that were never a Raspberry Pi, starting with the Elegoo Centauri Carbon on OpenCentauri COSMOS firmware, join via Direct (LAN/VPN) mode. See the 3rd-party printer guide on GitHub.
- A steadier dashboard on flaky WiFi: a sub-second network blip no longer blanks a tile or shuffles the tile order.
- iPhone polish: the add and reorder buttons sit planted in the bottom corners, and the layout hugs the screen properly.

### 0.9.51 — 2026-07-18

This update brings everything from v0.9.46 to v0.9.51 to iPhone:

• Run it your way: the new Direct (LAN/VPN) mode adds a printer with zero cloud. Install the Pi plugin in LAN-only mode, pick 'Direct (LAN/VPN)' at the top of the Add Printer screen, then scan its QR or type its address. The app talks straight to Moonraker on your network and keeps working with no internet at all; away from home you connect through your own VPN (WireGuard, Tailscale). Trade-offs are shown right on the screen: no print notifications in Direct mode, remote access is your VPN's job, and your phone's network must be in Moonraker's trusted_clients.
• Switch an existing printer between cloud and Direct any time from its edit dialog, no re-pairing needed. Cloud-pairing a machine you'd added as Direct absorbs the old tile automatically, keeping its settings.
• Printers now need a real name: the name box starts empty and cycles example names. No more dashboards full of 'My Printer'.
• Out-of-date plugin alert: the dashboard now flags a printer whose Moongate plugin is behind, and on plugin 0.6.16 or newer one tap updates it straight from the app.
• Hold a tile's camera square to open the full-screen live view.
• New Local-only switch: an optional toolbar toggle that stops all remote (tunnel) traffic, so the app talks to printers only over your own network.
• Restore now merges: restoring a backup keeps printers you paired after the backup was made, and removing them is an explicit choice.
• Clearer pairing pop-up: the "Don't show this again" option is always visible, and the instructions now name the MOONGATE_PAIR macro.
• Starred macros no longer vanish when the macro menu is reopened.
• New language: Português (Brasil), a community translation making nine languages in total.
• A friendly retrying message replaces the raw "Bad gateway" page while a printer's web interface finishes starting up.
• On fresh installs the local camera feed now runs at the camera's own frame rate.
• Efficiency fixes that stop unnecessary background requests.
