Moonrise Moment combines lunar position calculations, your location, altitude, and nearby terrain estimates to show when to look, where to face, and what you will see.

See the next visible moonrise at a glance: local time, a live countdown, moon phase, illumination, bearing, altitude, and any estimated horizon adjustment.

FIND IT
Use the live compass to find the Moon. While the Moon is above the horizon, Find It points toward its current position and shows its altitude. While it is below the horizon, Find It points toward the next moonrise bearing.

FORECAST
Explore a full lunar cycle. Compare moonrise times, phases, illumination, and bearings, with the fullest upcoming moonrise highlighted.

ALERTS
Choose a lead time and let Moonrise Moment give you a quiet heads-up before the next rise. Alerts are local notifications scheduled on your device, with optional Live Activity support.

No account. No advertising. Your precise location is used to calculate the event; it is not sent to PostHog analytics. Nearby coordinate samples may be sent to Open-Meteo to estimate terrain, as explained in the privacy policy.

Moonrise times, bearings, and terrain adjustments are estimates. Weather, buildings, local obstructions, device sensors, and atmospheric conditions can affect real-world visibility.

We rebuilt the Moon finder around higher-precision lunar calculations and true 3D phone pointing. Turn left or right, then tilt up or down to line up with the Moon. Location startup is also cleaner and no longer shows sample data.
