The game was good, the graphics were futuristic and the cut-scenes were electrifying. There was an excellent variety of HO scenes and puzzles. Mad Head imparted some interesting and quirky tasks to accomplish. Quality assurance was decent, just a slight lack of touchscreen sensitivity. The storyline was a bit confusing. I deducted a star for length and for the strategy guide. I don’t enjoy accessing the mobile hub. Put it in the game. For those of you who don’t know, Mad Head released Cadenza: The Following. This was a great series. Enjoy! ### 4/5 — Ok but not exceptional *2020-10-27, version 1.0.1* The game was rather short, however it did have some interesting puzzles and tool usage. I enjoy the sliding HO scenes but could have used more of them. I did not like frequent requests to rate the game. We players usually review after we complete a game, not in the middle. And I’ve LOVED the other Moonsouls games I’ve played and I love Mad Head. But the revere I normally have when playing a Mad Head game was lost as soon as it became clear that the main purpose of the game was to get the player (me) to hear the characters referring to the antagonist as they/them, and even him sometimes and her other times. Super confusing, but mostly insulting. Insulting because I paid money for a game to relax with and have fun with, but instead a political agenda was shoved down my throat in a not-so-subtle manner. And I’m an adult. I can only imagine how confusing this would be to a teenager. But that’s the developer’s agenda. Even the voice talents of Kendra Hoffman were wasted by having her speak her character’s lines in a ridiculous accent instead of letting her use her natural, soul-soothing, fun voice. I’m not into this style of game. Story did not flow like the others,not enough interaction with other characters. ### 3/5 — An entertaining enough scifi adventure, but lacked depth *2025-07-17, version 1.0.5* There aren’t enough scifi and post-apocalyptic type hidden puzzle games, so Moonsouls already stands out by combining some cool tech ideas within a fairly standard fantasy-world adventure game. I had a lot of fun working my way through the various scenarios, all beautifully inked and peopled by characters given a touch of humanity by excellent voice actors. My only issue with the game overall is that I found that at times when the gameplay became overwhelmingly a matter of find-assemble-use. More points of character interaction and storytelling would have made this game more enjoyable and far more engaging. For one thing, as we aren’t provided with sufficient backstory nor with any ongoing basis for empathising with the protagonist, there’s really no dramatic denouement and as such, the reunion of characters is almost embarrassing: the dialogue is awkward, the characters’ expressions are emotionless and it all felt like a scene from the Monty Python Holy Grail movie rather than a dramatic moment that the entire game was supposedly meant to lead up to. ### 3/5 — Moon souls *2021-07-04, version 1.0.5* Very short game not worth 5.99 why have all these games gone so expensive ### 4/5 — Ein sehr schönes Spiel *2023-04-04, version 1.0.5* Die einzelnen Minispiele sind sehr spannend und knifflig. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — I love mad head games! *2024-02-15, version 1.0.5* This has been such a fun game to play! But I expect nothing less from “Mad Head”. They make excellent games. This one has a lot to do in it. I know I would of been very a little frustrated if I had played this when I was novice. But thanks to walk throughs and guides its much easier now a days. The games are (true to Mad Head) original. The way they incorporate them is spot on. Their stories are always told in proper sequence and never boring. Plus ......a big plus their games are 50% off right now !!!!
