## What is Morel?

Morel helps you build shared dining lists with friends, remember every spot you ate together, and build your personal taste map.

Every meal you have together disappears into a group chat. Morel keeps it. Check in where you ate and tag who you were with. A year later you can still answer "where did we go that time, and which dish should I get again?".

The more dishes you rate, the better we get at building a personalized menu for you everywhere you go.

Notable Features
• One-click save restaurant reels from Instagram to your personal and shared lists.
• Keep track of every place you ate at with friends.
• See your friends' dish ratings, so you know what to order.
• Build your personalized taste map and know what dishes suit you at every restaurant.
• Morel can find food photos already on your phone, so logging where you've been takes a few taps.

## Key features

- Rate specific dishes, not just restaurants
- Personalized taste profile learns your preferences
- Verified check-ins ensure rating authenticity
- Find top-rated dishes by cuisine
- Create shared lists with friends
- Privacy-focused location usage

### 5/5 — this app makes me feel like Ramsey (played by Oliver Platt) from Chef (2014)

*2026-07-31*

the food critic who in the beginning we think is the villain but turns out to be a nice guy after all

### 5/5 — Super Helpful App

*2026-07-26*

Curing my FOMO of missing the best dish at each place I visit. A must-download for dining!

### 5/5 — Best food rating app

*2026-07-14*

I love the concept of rating dishes over restaurants (though you can still do that here). You get more granular insights and better recommendations than Yelp.

Also, I really like the repost feature which makes reviewing places/plates easier than making stuff from scratch.

Very good feedback and support from the developers that make frequent updates.

10/10!!!!

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.0.12 — 2026-08-22

Eat Morels is now Morel. Everything else stays the same, we just changed it to something easier to say and remember.

### 1.0.10 — 2026-08-14

We've redesigned the app to look and feel more native:
• The tab bar is now a floating glass pill that sits above your content instead of boxing it in.
• Check in from its own button, lifted out of the tab bar and easier to hit.
• Headers get out of the way. Each screen floats only the controls it actually needs, so you see more of the food.
• Bigger, clearer back and share buttons on every restaurant page.
• Plus a round of fixes: larger tap targets, steadier scrolling, and one search field shared by the map and list views.

### 1.0.8 — 2026-08-06

Various stability fixes to the tab bar and app launch, as well as an updated onboarding closing screen

### 1.0.4 — 2026-08-01

We've merged the maps and search tabs to consolidate discovery, and highlighted crews in its own tab so building shared lists with friends is easier than ever!

### 1.0.3 — 2026-07-30

General bug and haptic fixes. Thanks for being part of Eat Morels!
