### 4/5 — Nice engine

*2012-12-28, version 0*

Good, clean interface and not a bad engine underneath, and a very nice way to get started on Reversi/Othello. Has a tendency to give away vulnerable locations (b7, b2, g2, g7) early on, even on "hard". Here's a variation worth playing with (m/c plays white, horizontal is a-h, vertical is 1-8): d3 c3, c4 e4, f6 g7, c2 b2, d2 b4, f5 e6, c5... (See how it gave away g7 and b2?) You can have fun wiping out white altogether from there (or trying - it will fight back!) :) It's a fun app and a good intro to the game - recommended.

### 4/5 — Many years

*2012-02-29, version 0*

I have had this game for many years and it's been great and very challenging. Would love to see game center support with online play with it. I think that would be a great addition to the game play

### 4/5 — Best Game is 48 to 0

*2012-02-19, version 0*

Wow - I love this free game. I only play it on "hard" and have found an opening pattern that gives me the win 100% of the time unless I royally blow it. My best game is to win with black on the hard setting with a score of 48 to 0. I'm curious if anyone has gotten a better score? I'd like to get at least one game in with a 64 to 0 score as that would be another fun screen shot to collect. Like many other reviews, I wish that there was an undo "cheat" mode, that it would track your stats, and that there was an option for on-line play.

### 4/5 — Superb! Only thing missing is an Un-do function

*2011-06-29, version 0*

Nicely designed, fun play.

Wish there were an undo, so one could take back a move and look at the previous config of the board to see what one missed!

Oh, one other thing. I like playing white, but you can't go first! Let us pick who goes first. Otherwise, how wonderful you provided this free--and without ads--that makes it a delight!

### 2/5 — Nice visuals, way too hard.

*2010-07-18, version 0*

The easy mode on this is just as difficult as the hardest setting. There may be one or two times I saw it make a less than perfect mode. That may be fine if you are a reversi savant, but otherwise, this version will make you chuck your phone into a wall. There are other free versions out there that give you a learning curve.

### 3/5 — E6, G6, F5, H8 - medium

*2010-06-27, version 0*

Simple. I wish there was a way to not only turn off the flipping animations, but also the fade out circle effect that showsaround the piece when placed. It seems like that slows it down for no other reason than eye candy. The gameplay in the previous version without the animation was much quicker. E6, g6, f5, h8 on medium will get you a corner in 4 moves every single time.

### 4/5 — Classic Game!

*2010-04-15, version 0*

simple and easy to use game of Go/Reversi. Smooth interface with clean graphics that don't detract from the game. Great free app!

### 3/5 — Morocco. That about sums it up.

*2010-03-21, version 0*

While this game is free, you can't really complain, but as a whole, the game is just what it says. It's Morocco. The difficulty is a bit high, but the game itself is still re-playable. It's not complicated, and the graphics are okay. Overall, it's a getter for those who like thinking man's games and board games. It's free. so you have nothing to lose. It's best to play every once in a while, not all the time. It's good for quick little games.

Just don't complain when it's not what you want. It's Morocco. There you go. Don't like it? Don't get it.

### 4/5 — Good!

*2010-02-01, version 0*

This was the first game I downloaded - and I still play a game or two now and then. Fun game, no nonsense implementation.

### 3/5 — Wow

*2009-12-06, version 0*

So good and the price is right :)

### 4/5 — Free and no ads!

*2009-11-27, version 0*

Great little game of othello, and it’s free. AI is a good player, graphics are nice, and can turn off ‘next-move’ tips. Only things I miss are stats and ability to automatically switch the starting player.

### 5/5 — The epic quest for perfection.

*2009-11-02, version 0*

A game that never becomes boring or tiresome. If it's your first time playing this type of game but, once you advance in your skill you will seldom not enjoy every minute you spend with this great looking game. As the title suggests it's not about winning. It's about becoming good enough to fill all 64 squares with your colored tiles. Greatest iPhone game and it's free 99.

### 5/5 — All this for free?!

*2009-09-16, version 0*

Wow this game is awesome! So classic old school and fun! <3

### 4/5 — It's hard

*2009-09-15, version 0*

Good game but good luck trying to win!

### 4/5 — ExPalmNewton

*2009-09-10, version 0*

Good version of the game.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Don’t Pay For It

*2018-07-03, version 1.2.0*

I just paid $AUS1.49 for the HD version and it’s very buggy. You can’t get off the settings page to play after you’ve adjusted the graphics. Very poor from what was an OK time filler

### 1/5 — WOW

*2018-01-12, version 1.2.0*

IF YOU WANT A GAME THAT CHEATS BE MY GUEST A GET THIS

### 1/5 — Potential

*2011-04-23, version 0*

### 1/5 — Stupid

*2010-01-30, version 0*

Stupid. Plain and simple.

### 1/5 — Best othello game for your iPod

*2009-09-11, version 0*

Better interface then morocco, and the computer seems smarter. Very playable

### 1/5 — Undo button

*2009-09-06, version 0*

An undo button would be nice u think!!

### 1/5 — Ok but needs work

*2009-04-20, version 0*

Good game but the AI is always "thinking". Sometimes I am waiting for it to take it's turn but it freezes up. Needs the bugs worked out.

### 1/5 — Annoying

*2009-04-07, version 0*

I was surprised at how hard the easy level is. I can't actually see how the medium level or the hard level us any harder.

Also why is it that some people have said how great it is but have given it one star???????

### 1/5 — Cheater

*2009-03-30, version 0*

I agree the game f.cken cheats

### 1/5 — no fun

*2009-03-30, version 0*

There is no rule for this game. I can't figure it out what to do with it. I have no fun with it. Very disapointed.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Best game ever

*2024-10-18, version 1.2.0*

One of the very first games I downloaded on my iPhone 3G probably 15 years ago. Still play it to this day. Hope the devs maintain compatibility with future iOS updates.

### 5/5 — Beautiful

*2019-07-08, version 1.2.0*

To shadow the last reviewer, this app is smooth and has no ads. This is how apps should be

### 5/5 — The best one

*2019-01-24, version 1.2.0*

I have tried a lot of different Othello apps, searching (unsuccessfully) for one that supports different board shapes and sizes. Of all the many versions in iOS the one I kept is Morocco. It’s smooth, well drawn and nicely interfaced. The rest are distinctly amateurish in comparison. And no intrusive ad garbage of the kind that wrecks 90% of the Apple ecosystem nowadays!

### 5/5 — Updated after 9 years!

*2017-10-14, version 1.2.0*

Well it’s clear that the developer hasn’t been very active on the development not updating in 9 years even with all the warnings of iOS 11 not supporting 32 bit apps like this. But finally he did it and I give 5 stars because the whole update is just 500KB!! That is amazing and a reference to these days minimum 50MB even several hundred MB updates. Kudos to the developer!

### 5/5 — Excellent game

*2012-05-13, version 0*

A great way to wile away some spare time, the AI is tough to beat but I love a challenge

### 5/5 — So easy

*2011-12-29, version 0*

Hard is wayyyyyyy to easy. Makes the same mistake every time and gives me the corner. For you people who can't get it on easy, PRACTICE. Bug in the software , please fix. Great game.

### 5/5 — Simple, fast, and reliable.

*2011-11-27, version 0*

Simple, fast, and reliable.

### 5/5 — great app

*2010-09-04, version 0*

all i can say is awesome

### 5/5 — The only game I keep going back to.

*2010-01-18, version 0*

This game is a classic, when ever I have a free moment I tend to turn to Marocco over any other iPhone game I've ever downloaded. It takes no time to load, goes straight to the game and can be played with one hand. No
sounds are needed and there is an option for animated moves but the look and feel of the game seems solid. As a free game without advertising there is no reason you shouldn't have this on your device.

### 5/5 — I like this

*2009-11-05, version 0*

I've tried most of the App Store Othello (reversi) games. This one stands out as my clear favorite. Every time I am looking for something to do, I find myself turning on my iPod and playing this game. Check it out, you will not be disappointed!

To the programmers: Well done, ty!
