## What is MorseTest?

Audio learning can be a great brain exercise.  This is a Morse Code practice test generator which can generate random 5-letter words, and send them in International Morse Code using your iPhone speaker.  The WPM (words per minute) speed can be easily set.  You can independently set the dot speed (for the Farnsworth method), and tone frequency.  You can also configure the number of possible letters and numbers used, as well as customize the sequence of letters and numbers from which the test words are generated (for training similar to the Koch method).  You can either show or hide the test words as they are sent.

its an odd choice to use a slider to select between a list of pre ordered and limited characters. what if i just want to practice B6D to sort those out? what if i wanted a character not listed, like the dash - or equals = ? would appreciate if they were added

The app is well-made with frequency, WPM and even some “noise” (more realistic).

However, I cannot set the alphabet on my iPhone. I can slide how many characters I want, but if I want to practice only numbers or only special characters, I have not found a way to enter the desired set.

It would be even better if I could make sections with alphabets (say 10 groups only letters, 5 groups only numbers and 5 groups numbers and special characters) for a test run.

Good Morse tutor, but still has flaws. The speed setting is optimistic, with Farnsworth sending speed about 20% slower than displayed. I finally found that I can edit in the character setting field so I can select particular sets of characters or delete individual characters from the list. The field resets each time you restart. It might be helpful to have an option for first five, second five, third five etc

Repetitive patterns. Having 26 letters available, it was the same exact groupings four out of five times; 

A checkbox system for characters including prosigns;

The WPM slider is very sensitive, although I've not had any problems with the frequency slider;

It would be nice to be able to select the number (or time) of practice groups, should one wish either more or less than the 20 groups. 

For myself, getting back into CW after a 30 year break, this is a very handy app. I think it could be a "good" app instead of just "good enough" if some changes were made. The lack of true randomness is the worst part, in my opinion.

This app teaches morse code the correct way, by sound only.  All the other apps I found show the characters visually, which will mess you up when you try to go faster than a few words per minute.

Das Programm funktioniert erwartungsgemäß gut und ist dementsprechend für Anfänger, die Morsezeichen erlenen wollen oder müssen, brauchbar. Auch für Fortgeschrittene, die ihr Hörtempo steigern wollen, ist es gut zu gebrauchen. Hin- und wieder produziert das Programm allerdings nicht 100%ig 5er-Gruppen, sondern "vergißt" ein Element ... das bringt dann einen "aus dem Konzept". Von den "Settings" her kann man soweit alles auf seine persönlichen Bedürfnisse einstellen. Das geht von der Auswahl der Anzahl der Buchstaben oder Zahlen, der WpM sowie Tonhöhe und Lautstärke. Stutzig macht allerdings die Angabe, das man alle "41 characters" verwenden kann ... 26 Buchstaben + 10 Ziffern + die Zeichen , . / ? sind aber "nur" 40 characters ... naja - schön wäre noch, wenn man die Einstellung "NUR Buchstaben" und "Nur Ziffern" sowie "Nur Zeichen" wählen könnte, denn gerade am Anfang ist es schwierig, Unterschiede zwischen z.B. H und 5 oder J und 1 zu hören ... ansonsten schön und gut gemacht - deshalb 4-Stars!
