## What is Mosaic HighRes?

Mosaic HighRes builds a single big picture out of hundreds or thousands
of your own photos — pick one photo as the "target," pick a pool of
other photos from your library, and the app arranges small versions of
the pool photos into tiles that, together, recreate the target image.
Zoom in and you see individual photos; zoom out and you see the picture
they form.

WHY IT'S DIFFERENT

Most mosaic apps cap out at phone-screen resolution and call it done.
Mosaic HighRes is built to produce files sized for an actual physical
print — pick a print size (inches or cm) and a DPI (150 / 300 / 600 /
1200, or custom) and the app shows you, before it renders anything, how
sharp each individual tile will be at that size. No surprise blur after
a 20-minute render.

Under the hood the renderer builds the output one horizontal strip at a
time instead of holding the whole finished image in memory, so it can
produce genuinely large files (multi-thousand-pixel prints) without
crashing on a phone. Before it starts, it estimates the real memory and
disk cost of the size you picked and warns you if it's too big for your
device, instead of letting you walk into an out-of-memory crash.

EVERYTHING STAYS ON YOUR PHONE

- No account needed to build a mosaic. No sign-up, no login.
- No photo ever leaves your device. The entire pipeline — reading your
photo library, building the mosaic, writing the output file — runs
locally. There is no server of ours and nothing is ever uploaded
  anywhere.
- No analytics, no trackers, no ads.
- The app touches the network in exactly one place, and only if you
tap it first: "Import a Google Photos album", which signs in to Google
and downloads the photos you pick in Google's own picker. It asks for
read-only access to just those photos — it cannot see the rest of
your library — and it only ever downloads. Nothing else in the app
touches the network, and it is not needed to build a mosaic.
- Exported mosaics are saved only where you choose: to your photo
library (if you tap "Save to Photos") or shared via the normal
share sheet to whatever app you pick. The app doesn't upload
or back up your exports anywhere on its own.

HOW IT WORKS

1. Pick a target photo from your library.
2. Pick (or auto-fill) a pool of other photos to use as tiles.
3. Choose your output size — a physical print size + DPI, or a tile-grid
size — and see the per-tile sharpness estimate before you commit.
4. Render. Progress is shown strip-by-strip since that's genuinely how
   the image is being built.
5. Save to your photo library or share the finished file.

Built for people who want an actual print on their wall, not just
another square to post — anniversary photo walls, a year of a kid's
photos making up one baby picture, a team made of a season's worth of
game photos. Whatever pile of photos you've got, this turns it into one
picture made of all of them.
