L’appli reste focalisée sur l’apprentissage simple et efficace, pas de jeux inutiles et chronophages. L’application s’adapte bien au temps que l’on consacre à l’apprentissage. Les phrases d’exemple sont vraiment un gros plus également, personnellement je m’évalue aussi sur ces phrases. On peut cependant regretter deux choses. Pour commencer, la tarification par abonnement alors que quelques années auparavant les packs complets pouvaient être acquis à vie pour un prix équivalent à 4 ou 5 mois d’abonnement actuel! Moins avantageux qu’avant donc, à moins d’apprendre plusieurs langues en même temps et se limiter à un ou deux d’abonnement. D’autre part en allemand, certains verbes n’ont pas leur préposition ou bien le cas grammatical de leur objet n’est pas précisé, ce qui est très important dans cette langue! Certes l’on peut modifier les cartes mais c’est dommage d’avoir à le faire vu le prix! Ayant la nécessité d’apprendre l’anglais, j’ai investi en elle pour travailler mon anglais quotidiennement. Mais 50 minutes d’anglais par jour demande déjà une grande dose de volonté qui est malheureusement très fortement altérer par de longue latence à chaque interaction avec cette application cela ne provient pas de mon téléphone qui est un iPhone récent avec lequel je n’ai aucun problème au quotidien… Si jamais le support à quel solution à m’apporter je suis preneur ### 4/5 — AI *2025-12-27, version 11.18.1* I am very dissappointed with the AI future in this app. ### 3/5 — Worst Interface of Any Language App *2025-12-02, version 11.18.1* Inside there is a lot of good content, but I have never seen an app designed so badly. I mean you have to sit down and study how to just use the flashcards you selected. There are a myriad of features hidden in different parts of the app but there’s a big learning curve just to get to them. This is a flash card based learning program that worked well for me. It’s very straight forward and basic with many options to utilize such as actual conversations to listen to. The issue for me was it’s not very intuitive to use. Navigation throughout the program and its interface seems antiquated compared to other programs I have used. The actual learning aspects of the program I like just not how they go about delivering it. One of the reasons I purchased the app was for the good review about the hands free option. The app would stop the audio when my I phone screen went into sleep mode. Music and podcasts wouldn’t do it so I reached out to support. Well they informed me that due to the apps limitation it can’t function conveniently like other audio applications and I will need to use its sleep mode. Even with sleep mode it still shuts off. For its price based on functionality I would look elsewhere ### 4/5 — Good but Some Issues *2025-11-06* Everyone has their own best way to learn. I downloaded it for the sleep feature. Unfortunately, the flashcards went from a natural speaking voice to synthetic, and I haven’t been able to get back to the natural speaking voices. The synthetic voice is very, very difficult to understand. Supposedly from what I read on the Internet that the flashcards should utilize the naturally speaking. Or pre-recorded voices I’m on an iPhone and I can’t get out of the synthetic voice. You really cannot recognize what it’s saying, which defeats the purpose of the flashcards. J’aime beaucoup le concept d’apprentissage basé sur la mémoire long terme. Le contenu est très intéressant. J’aime l’aspect « dialogues », réalisés par de vrais intervenants : pour moi, idéal pour travailler la compréhension orale. C’est un vrai plus. L’interface mobile est ergonomique et plutôt bien pensée. Les vidéos tutorielles sont claires. Le contenu est riche et il y en a pour tous les goûts. Je n’ai pas encore essayé l’interface web. But once you get deeper into the platform you see how buggy it is. It’s like it’s unfinished. Needs more work. Doesn’t sync with other devices or the website, unless you delete and reinstall. Amateurish. ### 5/5 — Incontournable pour apprendre une langue *2025-02-28* Le meilleur moyen pour moi pour apprendre une langue. Le système de carte est la manière parfaite pour enrichir son vocabulaire rapidement. Couplé à un bouquin de grammaire et conjugaison, c’est le combo parfait. Utilisé pour apprendre l’anglais auparavant et maintenant l’espagnole. Je ne crois pas avoir jamais laissé d’avis sur une autre app, pour vous dire à quel point j’aime celle-ci pour en laisser un. Malgré quelques petits bémols comme quelques problèmes d’affichage ou de responsivité et un design peut être un peu vieillissant, le travail réalisé par les gens derrière cette app mérite largement ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Bravo à l’équipe pour votre travail. ### 3/5 — C’était tellement bien pourtant… *2025-02-24* J’aimais bcp cette appli, j’ai bcp progresser en vocabulaire ça va sans dire. Le système de répétition de plus en plus lointain ds le tps a été une petite révolution pr moi à l’époque. J’avais acheté l’application en anglais en 2018 il me semble, mais quand je suis revenue sur l’application un jour, je devais payer un abonnement pour avoir accès aux cartes auxquelles j’avais de bas le droit de voir puisque c’était un achat définitif ! Enfin bref très bon système d’apprentissage il n’y a rien à dire sur ce point. Mais pour le reste c’est une attitude vraiment déloyale. J’espère être recontacté par l’équipe si il y a possibilité de résoudre le pb ou du moins de justifier la perte de mon achat. I downloaded the Premium version to access audiobooks and immersion material. I consistently get blank content, then a redirect to my home page where I have to start over. Learning tips advise to reduce stress when learning a language, but this app only induces more frustration. ### 1/5 — Lernen okay App miserabel *2025-07-02* Ich muss hier jetzt einfach bewerten weil es nur nervt, freihandmodus - sobald das iPhone in den Standby geht bzw. der Bildschirm schwarz wird geht das Ding aus! Wenn die App geöffnet ist man zwischen Apps switcht kommt entweder die Sanduhr, oder man kurz was machen dann kommt wieder die Sanduhr, das liegt eventuell am Game Center - zur Info. Der Support schreibt relativ schnell zurück, dennoch wird ignoriert, die Antworten sind immer ähnlich. Vokabeln kann man nicht auf Knopfdruck lernen, die Funktion alle Karten Lernen die man gelernt hat wäre super, mir bringt es nichts wenn ich die Vokabeln und darunter die Lösung sehe. An sich ist die App super man lernt reativ schnell aber die Technik ist mies und gehört endlich mal gefixt das sie richtig und stabil läuft. Ach ja responsive fehlt auch, sieht richtig schlecht aus wenn die App sich nicht an den Bildschirm anpasst. Eigentlich bewerte ich nicht aber das nervt mich echt. Wobei ich auch noch dafür gezahlt habe. Ergänzung: Danke für ihre Antwort, aber wie auch beim Support lesen auch sie die Bewertungen nicht! Der freihandmodus funktioniert eben genau dann nicht wenn der Bildschirm schwarz wird. Die Thematik mit der Sanduhr oder dem Ladekreis in der App hat mit der Kopplung des Game Centers zu tun, irgendwann friert die App ein und man muss neu starten. Another app scam. ### 1/5 — Disappointing errors, very disappointing response. *2024-12-20, version 11.15* I used the in-app report to let MosaLingua know there were errors in some extremely basic parts of their Arabic course, and their response was "oh we'll fix that in a future update"; that was three weeks ago and the errors are still there. I appreciate that it takes time to fix this stuff, but I cannot overstate how egregious these errors were. (Also frankly, no paid app should be relying on free labour from the people who have paid for the service (and who are largely beginners in these languages!) to fix basic errors like this - these things should have been seen and fixed before the course was ever released! - but that's a whole different argument. In the meantime, errors this bad should be a priority and be fixed as soon as humanly possible.) I've been casually learning Arabic for about a year now, my Arabic is still very elementary. However, when I click on something where the audio is wildly at odds with what it's supposed to be, I have enough confidence in my abilities to be able to go okay, the audio is wrong; many less experienced language learners will not, and will either learn incorrectly or will assume they have misunderstood when they haven't. For context, these are the errors I pointed out, all in the very first section of the course. Text reads شكرا shukran "thank you" Audio? نعم na3am "yes" Text reads نعم na3am "yes" Audio? لا laa "no" (literally not just a totally different audio, but it means the OPPOSITE!) Text reads لا laa "no" Audio? يا yaa "O" - the vocative particle, essentially a particle you use when addressing someone (you may have heard Arabic speakers saying ya Rabb, O Lord! or ya Allah, O Allah! But they're also used to address someone in MSA) I only know يا from studies elsewhere, and the only reason I have the ability to go "wait no, this audio is just wrong" is because I'm an experienced language learner with the knowledge and confidence to trust that sometimes, it's not me, it's them! Honestly I could understand errors like this if it were further on in the course - it's my understanding that MosaLingua Arabic has only been available for around a year, and as such I imagine relatively few people have gone through the whole thing. But we're talking things as simple as yes and no being wrong in the very first lessons they offer in this language! Imagine I was an inexperienced learner; imagine I had never encountered the Arabic alphabet before. How on earth would I be able to make sense of the alphabet when these very basic words were being given to me with audio that doesn't relate to them in any way? This also makes the whole course feel suspect. If no one could be bothered to check that the audio for yes, no, and thank you was correct, how can I trust that a more complicated sentence will be? How can I be sure things are correct later on, when my very elementary Arabic is outpaced and I don't have the ability to go "wait a minute..."? Errors this egregious in the very beginning parts of the language course are extremely discouraging and disappointing, and the lacklustre response from MosaLingua to such errors is also extremely disappointing. (It also makes me reluctant to try using MosaLingua to learn/brush up on Korean Hangul or Japanese syllabaries. My Arabic is elementary, but I know enough to see when the audio doesn't match. I don't have that level of knowledge in Japanese, and I know only the tiniest smattering of Hangul, so I'm in even less of a position to know if I'm being taught incorrectly.) I got lifetime access to MosaLingua on a Black Friday deal, so I'm going to poke at the other languages it offers and see if there's enough there to justify the purchase; there should be, but to say the response to these errors is not great is an understatement. The concept of this app is great, but if your course isn't ready to be released, then it shouldn't be released, and if errors this basic are still part of it, it's not ready to be released. And that you begin with learning useless words like “horse” and “apple”? How Duo is basically a way for you to feel like you are learning a language but you can’t actually use what you “learned”? MosaLingua is not THAT app. Straight forward learning with words and phrases to get you speaking like and with locals. Flashcards to review. Free and no ads. No frills, zero thrills, but all the good feelings of success that you can use what you learn. Currently learning Brazilian Portuguese while in Brazil and everything I have done through level 2 (I just started my trip AND the app) has been useful.
