Please add Estonian! ### 5/5 — Absolute BEST dictionary app by far!!!!!! *2025-01-29, version 1.2.11* If you are looking for a good Wikitonary interface so you don’t need to keep going to the mobile version of the site, then I think you will find this app is exactly what you are looking for. I had been looking for something like this for awhile, and someone recommended this to me. Super thankful to have found it. The developer also has been super friendly the times I’ve sent feedback. If you a learning a language with a lot of inflictions, such as Finnish, the one thing about the app is that it doesn’t have infliction tables loaded in (at least for Finnish). The developer told me they are working on a way to incorporate them, but that it’s a challenge because of just how many there are. Regardless, I still absolutely highly recommend the app, just know you will still have to keep a wikitonary page open in your browser for when you can’t remember how to inflict something (for now). ### 5/5 — Best Dictionary App on the App Store. *2025-01-24, version 1.2.11* For starters, I downloaded this app after being sent here from the link on Wikitionary for apps that use the site. The reason for this being that I tried, and failed, to find any dictionary app on the App Store that wasn’t riddled with ads. Thus, I searched for a Wikitionary app, and found this. It’s quite good! I like being able to search up a word in a language I’m learning (like Latin or Italian) and find it instantly, all in an app! I’d definitely recommend this app to any other fellow language enthusiasts, it makes things a lot more convenient. That said, I do have a few feature suggestions: 1. When searching for words, I think it’d be good to have a way to filter them. Like, say I wanted to only find nouns, I could filter it so that the only words I see are nouns. Same thing for verbs. Though, if I’ve simply overlooked this feature, feel free to ignore this suggestion. 2. I believe I’ve seen someone else suggest this, so if it’s already there then feel free to ignore this as well, but it’d be really useful to save these words to a favorites list of sorts, maybe even have the ability to make multiple lists. That way I could find, say, the most used Italian nouns and add them to a list dedicated to Italian nouns and memorize them easier. 3. Finally, I think it’d be pretty neat to have a language suggestion feature. Using myself as an example, I noticed that there wasn’t a Biblical Hebrew dictionary, nor an Aramaic dictionary, both of which are languages that I’m learning. It’d be helpful to have such a thing, as if someone is learning a language that doesn’t have a dictionary on this app (like, say, Proto-Indo-European or something), it’d be good for them to be able to suggest their language, and potentially have it added! All that said, I wish you the best and hope you consider some of these features! I’ll definitely be using this app frequently! ### 5/5 — Very useful offline dictionary *2024-12-11, version 1.2.9* I use this app for learning French - especially when it comes to slang words not included in my dictionaries. Easy to use & navigate through, though it would be nice to have the option to organise search results alphabetically. For example, when I search for the common verb ‘faire’, hundreds of phrases with ‘faire’ will show up. But the entry for the word itself will be buried underneath forty or fifty of these phrases instead of being at the top of the page. Couldn't even download Euskara without 1 gigabyte free, and I can't download English with 1.4 gigs. **Developer response:** Thanks for your comment, I’ll look into it. This seems to affect devices with a very large storage capacity. ### 3/5 — Missing meanings in the Finnish dictionary *2020-07-22, version 1.1.4* Overall I would say it's a very neat and powerful dictionary app. Clear layout, quick response, no ads, no need to use the Internet except for downloading dictionaries upon first use. I have only one complaint though, which unfortunately is not a small one: The suomi dictionary contains many items missing important meanings. For example, if you search "aikoinaan" in the app, it will only give you one meaning. By this, I mean that only one meaning is displayed at the top of the right-hand-side column, and there is no button for switching among several different meanings (or parts of speech) towards the bottom. However, if you look up the same word in Wiktionary, there will be two meanings, a noun, which is identical to what the app displays, and an adverb, which the app lacks. Unfortunately, the second meaning, i.e., the adverb, is actually more common in usage. Wiktionary shows the less common meaning first only because it reflects the construction of the word. I have not yet checked other dictionaries to see if the same problem exists. But the Finnish one definitely needs a fix. I guarantee you that such a fix would be a lifesaver for learners like me who wish to continue using this app. ### 4/5 — Great app, missing feature *2026-03-08, version 1.3.0* Amazing app, but can’t be used to explore only to search.
