### 4/5 — Great Software, Okay App

*2026-07-21, version 2.224.1*

I’ll start this review focusing on the app. This app is not a standalone app and, as stated in the description, is only a supplementary tool alongside the web version. The app is a little clunky, but functional. I can’t assign tasks to projects or categories, but it’s a great way to quickly get notes, thoughts, events, tasks etc down so you don’t have to go to the browser every time. This is great for me, as I get distracted easily, which I will touch on below.

As for the software as a whole, I started using Motion in the web in 2025, but have really found great use of it in 2026 after being diagnosed with AuDHD. Unsurprisingly, didn’t pay attention to the tutorials and have mostly been setting things up through trial and error. It has been great with managing tasks inside notes, separating tertiary study, work, and personal tasks, and breaking down large assignments/work projects into small bite sized chunks and managing it around breaks and meetings. It has been a lifesaver for me and has improved my efficiency, reduced mental load, and helped support me through executive disfunction.

In AUD the software is about $500 a year. Many will think it’s too expensive and generally I agree, but for me it has been worth it. Not for everyone, and a 1 week trial is unfortunately too short of a time to really see if this software is for you.

### 2/5 — Updates suddenly stopped. Where have the developers all gone?

*2026-07-03, version 2.224.1*

Loved how last year was full of innovation and updates to the product. Then they did their funding round and the product development suddenly stopped. I can’t stay on a platform that seems to have ceased developing their product. So gone back to Asana for task management

### 2/5 — Calendar update

*2026-02-26, version 2.224.1*

It doesn’t update continuously with my laptop. And it doesn’t update my calendar in mobile app. I billed annual, please solve this problem.

### 1/5 — Wack and Overpriced

*2026-02-23, version 2.224.1*

Sucks so fkn much. Doesn’t keep any tasks where I move them and moved everything around constantly. So ridiculous for the $45 it costs a month.

### 1/5 — This App is Garbage/Dishonest

*2026-02-20, version 2.224.1*

I did a substantial amount of research about this app on ChatGPT, the internet generally and the apps own Ai interface. I described my needs very specifically. I was assured over and over that my needs (not at all demanding) were easily manageable by Motion and that I was "exactly the kind of person Motion was designed to help." It was an epic failure. I don't know if ChatGPT has an ownership interest in this and therefore a stake in severely distorting its functionality. I DO know that the Ai feature in the browser is an absolute joke. It made representation after representation about what it could do for me and after literally 5 hours, it finally said "I should be honest with you. I really never would have been able to do that. You have done enough. You should go to bed." It was 6:30 pm my time. Stay far, far away. This is duplicitous junk.

### 4/5 — Dark Mode!

*2026-02-11, version 2.224.1*

Please please please add dark mode

### 1/5 — Paid tier

*2026-02-10, version 2.224.1*

WHY DON’T YOU TELL US ABOUT THE STUPID PAID TIER BEFORE WE DOWNLOAD THE FLIPPING THING?!?!?

### 1/5 — The pice is absurd

*2026-02-08, version 2.224.1*

The app looks interesting and, with time and change, could be a very interesting alternative to the regular Google Calendar, but 250 PLN per month is absurd. The current features are worth the 25 PLN per month.

### 3/5 — The Best but they screewingover

*2026-02-05, version 2.224.1*

The Best but they keep screewing the consumer. 50$ for 1 seat LOL

### 1/5 — Sneaky scamy autobilling

*2026-02-04, version 2.224.1*

Didn’t set up, cancelled, no upcoming renewal notices, charges CC for annual fee

### 1/5 — Fix your charging problems

*2026-02-03, version 2.224.1*

I see so much of Motion on line I thought I’d give it a second go, after the first one ended due to overcharging and an impossibly tedious effort to cancel it after billing issues. Same thing. Good product, terrible support practices.

### 1/5 — Muy costoso

*2026-01-30, version 2.224.1*

### 3/5 — Brakuje podstaw

*2026-01-28, version 2.224.1*

Brakuje dark mode, możliwości tworzenia wydarzeń przez chat a nawet integracji z WhatsApp.

### 2/5 — The app could be better to suit a good

*2026-01-27, version 2.224.1*

Motion as a whole is great however this app gives zero control when it comes to user preferences! My team uses motion for its great calendar ai scheduler. However I am a designer and I focus on task Kanban lists to keep track of my overall larger project plans. However this app has zero functionality to allow me to set this as a permanent view, instead I have to reset the filters each time to sort my task view. This app would benefit the functionality to favourite a user view on the Home Screen or at minimum allow me to favourite the filter I need - like the desktop app does. To add to this preferences issue the Apple widget only shows the calendar - no access to a task or inbox view which would be highly beneficial for my workflow.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Predatory Pricing

*2026-08-26, version 2.224.1*

I cancelled in 2024. Was issued a credit. They did not cancel, charged me for an annual fee in 2025 which I missed due to a bad divorce and my managing a household and autistic child alone. Charged again. They don't even have my current CC, apparently they put "tokens" on your apple wallet account and can charge you even without updated billing, even without renewing billing or accounts. You just get a $400 charge for a product you haven't used in 3 years. Super hard to cancel and get proof, shameful for a company that promotes itself to ADHD people.

### 1/5 — Cancelation of account issues

*2026-07-10, version 2.224.1*

I had canceled my account in 2025 July and yet I still get charged a year later and support team tells me that I have no record of an active account that only a email is listed on the account. I advise anyone not to link any credit cards or payment methods they charge they even after you have canceled your services etc I would not recommend using this app very poor outcome on my experience

### 1/5 — Calendar event creation

*2026-07-07, version 2.224.1*

I wish the AI chat can create events as well instead of just creating tasks. I want to be able to just tell it hey i have this thing going on at this time, put it in the schedule, so then when i create tasks it can auto schedule around them.

Also, the AI keeps getting dates wrong. It will say “Monday July 7th” even though July 7th is a Tuesday. Also, I’ll have events scheduled for a certain day (Ie. An event on July 10th, a Friday) and the AI will tell me I have that event on Thursday, July 9th instead, even though it’s scheduled for the 10th! I even tell the AI it got the date wrong and it will still get it mixed up.

### 1/5 — Instant failure

*2026-06-02, version 2.224.1*

I signed up for Motion because it’s marketed as an AI-powered scheduling assistant. Within the first hour, I ran into two major issues.

First, the app prominently features an AI Chat tab, but tapping it told me my plan didn’t include AI features. That’s a strange experience when AI is a core part of the product’s marketing.

Second, and much more concerning, Motion scheduled tasks directly on top of existing calendar events that were already marked as busy. As a teacher, my calendar contains commitments that cannot be double-booked. A scheduling app’s primary job is to avoid exactly that.

For $45/month, I expected a polished experience. Instead, I spent my trial debugging the app. The concept is great, but if I have to supervise the scheduler, it defeats the purpose.

### 1/5 — Fraud

*2026-05-01, version 2.224.1*

Do not use this service. Do not download. There is no customer service to speak with. It is all AI customer service. My account was fraudulently charged.

### 1/5 — Will charge you without prior consent

*2026-04-30, version 2.224.1*

I paid for a yearly subscription but they charged me twice a couple months later. On top of that good luck getting your money back because they do not respond to customer service emails or in their AI chat. Used to love this but seems like they are doing some shady stuff in regard to billing.

### 1/5 — Terrible design

*2026-04-27, version 2.224.1*

And difficult to disconnect tracking in personal email. False app promises and extremely expensive for no features

### 1/5 — Not ready. Just a task list creator

*2026-04-03, version 2.224.1*

I thought Motion would replace an assistant for calendaring and creating tasks and organizing my days and my weeks. This is not the case. It will create a task list and it will prioritize, but that’s the same thing any other AI LLM will do.

I want to type in what I needed to get done, when I needed to get it done, what the priority was, and how long I thought it would take into a text box and have the software automatically populate both calendar, events, and tasks on my calendar. It will not do this.

It does a good job of creating task list and prioritizing them, but I can already do that with Claude or ChatGPT and those have free versions. This is not worth $50 a month.

When it gets there, I might reconsider it, but I’m pretty frustrated right now and feel like I was take advantage of.

### 1/5 — WARNING: False Advertising & Unauthorised Charges

*2026-03-17, version 2.224.1*

Avoid Motion App at all costs - it is advertised as free, but you will be unexpectedly charged unauthorised billing’s (I was just charged $250 USD at random). There is no real support team either - just an AI chat bot that will stonewall you.

If anyone else ends up in this situation: after 2 days of trying to find someone, the AI chat bot issued a full refund. The AI chat bot is permitted to issue full refunds - do not bother waiting for a human to contact you - they will not.

### 1/5 — Warning: no renewal reminders or customer support

*2026-03-02, version 2.224.1*

Tried chat and emailing customer support no response.

Didn’t end up using motion much. Not as useful as I’d hoped.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — The productivity cheat code

*2026-08-19, version 2.224.1*

If you’re not using this app, you were simply wasting time. Period.

### 5/5 — So Amazing! Life Changer!

*2026-04-13, version 2.224.1*

Absolutely love this app and how it organizes my life perfectly everyday. Don’t know what I would do without it!

### 5/5 — Amazing App

*2026-04-01, version 2.224.1*

Keeps me focused and saves time. Able to combine work and personal calendars and tasks in one place. My wife and I use it to manage tasks between each other. Love this app

### 5/5 — Soul Mate

*2026-02-07, version 2.224.1*

Motion just gets how my brain works - realistically how most people’s do considering everyone I introduce it to immediately sees the several massive problems it flawlessly solves.

I recently got rid of my first account and onboarded my entire real estate team. It’s truly magical to see Motion working at its peak with multiple people involved vs just myself in previous years.

We’re still building our client facing work flows and continuing to build on everyone’s collection of to do list scattered across the cloud, but long story short, Motion has been life changing for me since I discovered it the years ago, and I love seeing my team quickly adopt it. You can visibly see the tension release when it clicks in someone’s mind exactly how it works.

### 5/5 — Love

*2026-01-31, version 2.224.1*

It’s very good

### 5/5 — Life saver

*2026-01-12, version 2.224.1*

I have tried SO many task managers over the years. The ai time blocking based on deadline and priority is where every other manager has fallen short. Plus, the fact that the calendar is perpetually redone based on what you have scheduled, the time you have available and what is the new priority is absolutely a game changer. Saving my life one met deadline at a time.

### 5/5 — Excellent app for utilizing the PARA system.

*2026-01-03, version 2.224.1*

Excellent app for managing projects, tasks (single/reoccurring), and documentation. One of the very few apps that can do all 3 of these things in one place! Great for utilizing the PARA system for managing tasks.

### 5/5 — Change your life

*2025-12-15, version 2.224.1*

This is truly an incredible, incredible program. I cannot speak highly enough about it. It supports me every single day! Now I don’t know how to do life without it.

### 5/5 — Value-add

*2025-11-20, version 2.221.0*

I have been using the Motion platform for the last 30 days in the organization and scheduling involved in the management of a 23 direct report structure for resources transmission and asset integrity. I have constant schedule shifts with complex repeatable processes. Quasi transitory work-force and high level reporting structure. Very low KPI threshold for inconsistency. So far so good. I have noticed a tendency to break down some of my tasks unnecessarily into action items that in the end are most efficiently accomplished as a single task. That being said, the potential for best practices capturing from multiple high level performers to create SOP’s makes me grin. We deal with multiple accounts, I was able to have another manager step into a role to cover a PTO event and he had all the necessary information to service the customer seamlessly.

### 5/5 — Best. By. Far.

*2025-11-16, version 2.221.0*

I'm a small business owner, and I spent MONTHS trialing everything I could find for schedule management. This easily outstrips the competition, the setup time is no harder than any other solution, and the tools and functionality quickly becomes essential.
More importantly, their product velocity is FAST. I'd consider myself an early-ish adopter (user since late 2022), and the value for money has consistently continued to improve with time
