## What is MotionCue?

MotionCue helps desk workers undo the stiffness of long hours at a screen. Short, guided stretch breaks you can do seated at your desk: between meetings, before the 2pm call, whenever your body asks. Built around your body and your schedule, on iPhone and Apple Watch.

Every stretch is drawn from reputable health sources (Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic, Harvard Health, the APTA) and shown with a clear animated figure, so you always know the movement. No guesswork, no gym, no equipment.

WHY MOTIONCUE

- Guided, animated sessions. Press start once and the whole routine runs hands-free: each stretch is timed, with a short rest between, so showing up is all it takes.
- Seated by design. Every stretch works right from your chair. No standing up, no floor, no changing clothes.
- Built for the wrist. The Apple Watch app runs on its own, so a stretch break is a glance away.
- Your body, your way. Choose your focus areas (neck, shoulders, wrists, back, hips, lower body), your session length, and the days you want to move.
- Move together. Make a pact with one person: a shared minute a day, and a watercolor garden you grow together. Gentle and private, with no feed.
- Stay hydrated. Log water in a tap (even straight from the reminder) and keep your daily total, with optional Apple Health sync.
- Reminders that respect your day. Gentle nudges on the days you pick, quiet during your off hours.
- Progress that keeps you going. Streaks and history reward showing up and never shame a rest day.

GROUNDED IN REAL SOURCES

Every movement cites where it comes from, so you can trust what you are doing and why.

### 5/5 — SUPER 🦈🏀💦🐺

*2026-08-03*

I’m going into 4th grade and I do basketball and a lot of academics and some baking and cooking 🍳 so my parents downloaded this app for me to help me stay consented and I love how it keeps me on track and I also realized how I wasn’t thirsty anymore which has been a problem for me in the past i recommend it to anyone who has a big and hectic life

### 5/5 — AMAZING

*2026-08-03*

I’m a high school student taking several accelerated classes this summer so I have to endure my fare share of late night studying, but after I downloaded MorionCue my productivity transformed!! I needed fewer breaks and could grind more efficiently for longer. The water reminders also made my basketball game 10x more elite! I’ve noticed I not only feel better but look better too! This is an amazing app and I highly recommend it to everyone whether your 6 or 90!💥💯💪

### 5/5 — Love this!

*2026-08-03*

I honestly didn’t realize how much I needed something like this until I started using it. When I’m working, it’s so easy to get sucked in and sit at my desk for hours without even thinking about it. MotionCue gives me the little nudge I need to get up, stretch, and reset before my neck and shoulders start complaining.

I really like that the stretches are quick and easy to follow. I don’t have to figure out what to do or spend 20 minutes exercising. It takes just a couple of minutes, then I’m back to work feeling so much better.

And the little guy leading you through the stretches is so cute!

### 5/5 — A Great Reminder to Pause and Move

*2026-07-20*

MotionCue is such a thoughtful and well-designed app. It provides gentle, guided stretches that are easy to follow and realistic to fit into a busy workday. As someone who can spend long hours at a computer, I appreciate having a simple reminder to pause, stretch, hydrate, and care for my body.
The app is calming, attractive, and easy to navigate. I especially like that the stretches are supported by reputable health sources and that each session provides clear timing and guidance. The progress and reminder features also make it easier to build a consistent wellness routine without feeling pressured.
MotionCue is a practical tool for desk workers, creatives, professionals, and anyone who needs a little encouragement to move more during the day. It is an impressive and meaningful app, and I highly recommend giving it a try.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.9 — 2026-08-12

Your nudge now waits until you have actually stopped moving.

Turn on "Time nudges by stillness" (Settings > Schedule, inside Move Me) and MotionCue anchors your next nudge to when you last stopped, instead of to the clock. The buzz that used to arrive while you were already up and walking across the office mostly stops happening.

It reads motion only at the moment it plans your next nudge, uses it, and throws it away. Nothing stored, nothing synced, nothing sold. It stays off until you turn it on, and if you would rather not, everything behaves exactly as before.

Thanks to the person on Product Hunt who argued for this on launch day. You were right.

### 1.8 — 2026-08-06

The Circle grows up: make a pact.

Pick one person and one shared minute ("weekdays at 3"). Both phones cue at the same moment, and every day you both move grows a shared watercolor garden. Missed days fade it, but it never dies: coming back revives it. Water your partner's garden when they need a lift (twice a week, so it means something), and get one small Sunday Letter instead of a stream of pings.

Also in 1.8:
- Water reminders now open a quick log, right where you expect. You can even log straight from the notification without opening the app.
- A Manage Subscription row in Settings, so the cancel path is obvious.
- Fewer, better Circle notifications.

### 1.7 — 2026-07-24

Meet Move Me, a lighter way to stay loose at your desk.

Instead of a scheduled session, MotionCue can send a gentle nudge to do one quick stretch, then let you get right back to work, on a pace you choose. It stays out of your quiet hours, and you can switch styles or fine-tune the timing anytime in Settings.

You'll pick your reminder style the first time you set up MotionCue.

Also new in 1.7:
- Composed theme music. Every theme now has its own two-minute piece in its culture's musical voice: koto for Nagomi, oud for Marrakech, a slow jungle groove for Amazon, and more, with the gentle sounds of each place. Turn on Session music in Settings; it loops seamlessly.
- A new signature reminder sound, Bloom, so a MotionCue nudge no longer sounds like every other app.
- Move Me nudges now break through Focus and Do Not Disturb by default, so you never miss one. A Settings toggle turns that off if you'd rather Focus win.
- Fixed: the home greeting always matches the time of day.

### 1.6 — 2026-07-17

Meet Circle: a quiet way to stretch alongside the people you care about.

Everyone you stretch with lives in one simple list, however many circles you share. See who has moved today, send a small cheer, and keep each other going. No feed, no noise, just presence.

Two new themes join the collection: Greenland, all snow and spruce, and Amazon, river and deep jungle green. Tap the theme badge on Home to restyle the whole app on the spot.

We also made each session calmer:
• A gentle first-run walkthrough, so your reminders, theme, and sound start out just the way you like them.
• Music now pauses when you pause, and returns when you do.
• A clear way to end a session any time you need to step away.
• In-stretch timing and left/right cues now land right on time.

New to MotionCue? Your first 14 days are on us.

Thank you for stretching with us.

### 1.4 — 2026-07-12

Stretch reminders now land reliably on Apple Watch, right when they're scheduled, with a Time Sensitive nudge so they cut through your day.

Your watch home now shows your streak, last stretch, and what's up next, matching your phone.

Choose a theme for your watch that's all its own, or keep it in step with your phone.

New calm home scenes: a meadow beneath the mountains, quiet dunes, and a deeper, richer green throughout.

Plus a reminder tone you can pick on your phone, and a few gentle polish touches.
