Initial download is rapid but excludes all images including ads. To actually download the magazine every page must be viewed one at a time. Therefore it typically takes five minutes to download. Very frustrating if you want to download the go offline to read on train or plane. My dad was the subscriber and pretty much had to wrestle it from me. I’m regularly on the overnight sailing from Hull/Rotterdam and P&O’s at sea Internet service is poor, and so I download the things I wish to read before sailing. Sadly in the case of Motorsport, a ‘downloaded’ magazine is usually missing articles, pages and many images when read offline. Having read the title continuously for ca. 50 years, this issue is not going to cost you a subscriber, but I know it could be improved. I would like to see less of the auctioned cars and more of the great historic events like the 1000 Miglia, Goodwood, etc. F1 coverage is very good. Like that this gives very current up dated racing news. Like to see US events covered more like Daytona and Sebring. Like the “lunch” articles with in-depth interviews of some of Motorsports greats. I do feel you could be more creative in your presentation. Magazine format looks Old-School and needs to have fresher updated appearance but that’s maybe a British thing. In a nut shell: content very good, but presentation needs to improve to look more current but you have made big improvements. Great access to your older magazines for history of the sport. Like the news features to get most current information. Very nice feature to have embedded videos. Like the recent feature on the Daytona Rolex 24. Fantastic event and more fun than the US GP with great fan access at Daytona. Thanks for the opportunity to respond. Still a very entertaining and interesting and enjoyable magazine online. What more can I say ? It is simply a great magazine. ### 4/5 — Latest update fails, again - updated *2022-05-31* 26th May app update seems to have cured the download and read offline problems. Pity it took 2 months to correct a poorly executed update. Though that’s quicker than the last time an update of this app caused the same problem. (Like to think lessons had been learned). I’ll give you 4 stars for content and reserve the fifth due to the poor update rollout. Could do better. Original post 31st March: This is so frustrating. The magazine content is great, but yet again the app has been updated and now I can no longer download issues for offline viewing, even though it detects an active subscription. Can’t even access the ones I saved previously. This seems to be a recurring theme with this app. Each time it’s updated it takes weeks to get it properly sorted. If only the app / program were half as good as the magazine journalism it would be great. But it isn’t. ### 5/5 — Technical issue *2022-04-19* It was a great App till the recent update. Went offline, tried to open the magazines but they wouldn't open - despite being marked as successfully downloaded. I also can't delete the downloaded magazines. Clicking on the delete bin does nothing. What a complete mess this app is. Really not impressed. Surely this is basic functionality for a magazine app? So if you click on the email link it, doesn’t allow you to read the article, or you click on the app…..and the article isn’t there either…so you try to search for the article with the search function and still the article doesn’t appear even if you type in the article title from the email you received. Motorsport is a good magazine and the website has lots of good content and the archive too…..but the app, emails and website obviously do not speak to each other to allow a nice use experience. It is probably quite a simple piece of coding to sort it out so why don’t they do it…..indifference, or just a deliberate attempt to annoy a long term reader and subscriber…. ### 1/5 — Great content, very poor app *2022-05-02, version 6.22* Not tested - properly anyway ### 1/5 — Cannot download magazines I have paid for! *2022-04-29* Perhaps this is an issue with my understanding of the App, but I do not appear to be able to download the magazines any more. In the old app it was straightforward. I read my magazines when NOT connected to the internet and the app simply doesn’t allow me to do that. It’s very frustrating. Motorsport is not cheap so this seems odd to me. I elected not to go with the print version for several reasons but am now regretting that choice. **Developer response:** Hello PWR500, we’re sorry to hear that you have had difficulties in the app. To view an issue of our magazine you are required to download the issue whilst being connected to the internet. All my old digital magazine have disappeared. If I download them again, they disappear again after coming out of the app, including the latest edition. Please reinstate previous version, this version just doesn’t work. ### 1/5 — Badly Flawed Update (April 2022) *2022-04-13* If you purchase your subscriptions through Apple, this app no longer works and restoring past purchases is not possible. I have spend weeks exchanging emails with the Help Desk in the UK to no avail. Very disappointed… ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Keeping Up to Date *2025-12-06* I was introduced to Formula One racing in the mid-1960’s and Jimmy Clark was my absolute hero over hockey and football players (I’m Canadian). I’ve returned to F1 in my 70’s and MotorSport magazine has brought me up to speed with the present and allowed flash backs to the times that were special. ### 5/5 — The best! *2025-11-08* Motor Sport magazine has been, and is, the best motor sport publication on earth. Both print and what is offered digitally. Hopefully many more years to come. ### 5/5 — Simply the Best *2025-10-09* I bought my first copy of MotorSport and took it on a school trip in July 1967. The cover photo was Jim Clark preparing to board the Lotus 49 at Zandvoort to practice for the Dutch Grand Prix, taken from the roof of the pits before he went on to score the first victory for the Cosworth DFV. It also covered Gurney/Foyt winning Le Mans and Dan taking the Eagle to a magnificent victory at Spa. Has there ever been a more iconic issue? I still have that magazine, it lit my motor racing fire which still burns. As a kid who grew up pressed against the fences at Riverside, Willow, and Ontario and subsequently lived in 1970s Germany, Motor Sport takes me back to some of the grandest times of my life. As an avid follower of today’s F1, I look forward to latest updates about the sport, especially as F1 faces exciting transitions in the coming years.
