I’m thinking to buy another router than pay$100/year to setup my own network… ### 1/5 — Can’t even set up Wifi through app *2026-03-13* The qr scanning section says the qr code on the bottom of my router is invalid…. ### 1/5 — Horrible App *2026-03-10* I received the notification to migrate to this one as previous one is not longer supporting router. I create the account and try to add existing router to my account. Well it is not letting me through. I am setting up through my phone. Even though phone is connected to the wifi app still shows connect you phone to wifi and do not let me setup the device. ### 1/5 — What a Disaster.. *2026-03-10* This thing is so terribly horrible like it was outsourced to of batch of five year old developers. Simply entering a password in the registration is so difficult. I’ve given up on registering . it won’t play with 1password ,you can’t copy or paste into the password, and can’t even edit your password without it erasing what you just typed. Whoever was in charge of this development should be fired , and their manager should be fired , and so on. ### 1/5 — Talk about a downgrade. *2026-03-09* Just like every other review you just ruined my internet experience. What a joke! ### 2/5 — Barely works *2026-02-14* Why don't you concentrate on writing robust modem code? I have had more reboots since your ultra bad rollout than in the past two years I have used your modem. Fyi, I am looking for something else. ### 1/5 — Crashes Constantly *2026-01-23* I don’t know which is a bigger rip off, the ridiculous prices you people charge for your routers or this worthless app that crashes constantly. Either way…trash. Disgustingly incompetent, can’t even delete a device you don’t want having access to it ### 1/5 — The upgrade was actually a downgrade *2025-12-03* This is terrible. Had both a 5 and 2.4 network prior to the migration. Decided on its own to consolidate and create a guest network. No big deal right? Wrong. Router needs to be restarted for every individual change you make. 9/10 times the request times out. When it does restart your changes don’t show up because of issues with the app cache. Well the only way to clear that is to uninstall and reinstall. After the reinstall MAYBE your changes went through. ### 1/5 — Unacceptably Bad *2025-11-06* This is Motorola's replacement for MotoSync. MotoSync used to work quite well. MotoSync+ simply doesn't work. The switch directly attached to the MG8702 isn't detected. None of the Ethernet wired devices attached to the switch are detected. The Wi-Fi connection to my mobile phone is dropped after about 1 hour and the only way to get it back is to reboot the phone. NONE of this used to happen with the old MotoSync, which is now discontinued and no longer works on the same phone. This app has not been tested sufficiently - if at all - and is being forced down customer's throats by Motorola. The customer is now Motorola's QA Department. And to add insult to injury, we're expected to pay $89.99/year for this garbage. I wasted an entire day talking to Motorola Support about this. They couldn't offer any solution or workaround. ### 1/5 — Forced into app *2025-11-01* I used the previous version of this app and received an email that the previous app would no longer be supported. 1st issue- I had to request an account transfer ( they should have took care of this already) 2- I had to create a new account once my account transfer request went through. 3- once both those were done, with this new app, all my devices on the old app, didn’t transfer over with the saved names I had for the devices, they all have odd numbers for names. With all the devices on my wi-fi, I don’t even know how to rename them again, unless I disconnect and reconnect one by one. 4- with the new app, I’ll have to pay for features that were free on the old app. I’ll have to pay for the premium version so that I can set up parent/family controls.
