After multiple attempts using the supplied guidance, I contacted customer service. The issue turned that our new modem serial number was not loaded into the Motorola servers. Lou, the customer service rep, fixed the issue and I connected the gateway to the app without any further issues. The app is useful for monitoring the gateway and network , seeing who/what is on the network, setting usage parameters and locking out “intruders”. The 4 stars reflect the initial app connection issue and there seems to be a very occasional slowing of communication between the app and the gateway. Overall, this app is useful for monitoring the gateway and health of our residential WiFi network. ### 1/5 — Absolute garbage *2025-04-09, version 1.5* I installed this app for a Motorola MT8733 gateway (modem/router & VoIP). It is inexcusably slow and provides no network management whatsoever. The hardware itself is flawless, but this app is trash and Motorola doesn’t even support it anymore ### 1/5 — App stopped working *2025-03-17, version 1.5* As most of the reviews state, the app was pretty good when it would actually restart the modem (which needs to be done almost everyday.) but then it randomly stopped working and now it won’t even do that. This does not seem to be the case. Instead you have an app that won’t even let you pause high data use devices from the data section. To further make things useless the app says Unknown/Unknown/Unknown for many connected devices and so you can’t even tell what device to pause from the Devices page (because more than half your devices will say unknown). ### 2/5 — The app never works *2024-09-16, version 1.5* Im not sure why the company make you use this app to control your router because it never works. Motorola Network Support I’m having the same issue as everyone else. The app cannot connect to the router. However everything device is connected and working fine. I tried rebooting but no luck. Does Motorola send updates directly to the router? But when you press the button it takes you to some kind of customer service app from godaddy! Are you serious? How can you expect customers to utilize an app for their home internet equipment, and then not make sure said app works? I really love that you can name and assign and label all the devices. The app is simple and easy, and doesn’t lie about internet speeds (*cough*Google*cough*). Motorola straight up tells you if your internet speeds for a particular device are bad. It does lag a bit, but not nearly as much as others are making it out to be.
