## What is Move Compass?

Move Compass is a self-assessment tool for professional migration pathways based on published official rules.

Choose two focus countries, complete a short profile and lifestyle preferences, and the app scans 18 countries on your device. You receive your two selected directions plus one unselected country to explore.

Key features:

- Official eligibility, official scores, route feasibility, lifestyle fit, readiness, and data confidence remain separate
- See passed, failed, and missing conditions
- Review rule versions, verification dates, and government or official-agency sources
- Compare three countries and the information still needed
- Use What-if scenarios to see the effect of language, experience, education, or job-offer milestones
- Traditional Chinese and English, dark mode, and Dynamic Type support
- Complete an assessment without signing in; profile data stays on device by default
- Optional sync is AES-GCM encrypted on device, and the cloud service does not hold the decryption key

Move Compass provides official-rule self-assessment and general information. It does not provide success probabilities, guarantees, legal advice, application preparation, filing, agency services, or representation. Rules can change; review the official sources shown in the app and seek a qualified professional when needed before acting.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.4.2 — 2026-10-20

• Google sign-in works again.
• Scenarios, rebuilt: start from a route in your countries, see what it still needs, and suppose all of it in one tap to see what opens. Quick scenarios that would change nothing for you are no longer listed.
• Better suggestions: routes that match the purpose you picked come first (choose "study" and you see student visas first), and the overview leads with the same route as "Which route fits me".
• Residence routes such as Japanese permanent residence, Irish long-term residency and Singapore PR are no longer suggested to people living elsewhere.
• Saying you have no job offer now settles each country's employer-sponsored conditions too.
• Your highest qualification and years of experience are asked once, not twice.

### 1.4.1 — 2026-09-21

Fixed: new users were stuck on page 3

1.4 made occupation required but the field was on page 5, so the button greyed
out with nothing on screen to fill in. Nobody could finish the questionnaire.
Sorry about that.

Occupation now sits on page 3 with the other facts that decide routes, and a
disabled button says which answer is missing. If you are not sure, "Still
studying" and "Between things" are answers rather than a way past the
question, and neither costs you a single route.

Your occupation now answers the UK question for you

The app used to ask whether your job is on the UK Skilled Worker eligible
list — which was always its job to tell you. Confirm an ISCO occupation and it
checks the Home Office's published list, mapped through the ONS SOC 2020
coding index. An occupation it cannot place stays unconfirmed; it is never
written down as a no.

Also

The occupation search no longer opens on a list of armed forces officers, and
countries fold and search when you compare routes.

### 1.4 — 2026-09-18

All 19 countries and 80 routes are now free
Only the two you picked used to be visible. Whether you qualify is what you came for, and it should not sit behind a paywall.

Conditions you can actually read
Grouped into not met, unconfirmed and met, each foldable, with the one blocking you named outright. Whether you meet the conditions and how much you have answered are now two separate lines, because they are two different things.

Asked what you want, told what it changed
The odd question about winters, statutory leave, community and being tied to an employer. Every answer says what it just reordered, appears in Profile with the screen that asked, and can be deleted. None of it ever changes whether you qualify.

Sign in with Google
Alongside Apple, and your subscription now follows the account to a new phone.

Also
Conditions decided by a currency conversion say so and give the rate's date; the update notice now fires only when a rule really changed; occupation is required, with answers for people still studying or between things.

### 1.3 — 2026-09-16

This release is about one thing: meeting a threshold is not the same as being selected.

• Scored routes now state how they actually decide — apply directly, wait to be invited, be drawn at random, or be nominated — each linking to where the authority publishes its results.
• Australia's skilled routes carry the per-occupation scores invitations were actually issued at in the last published round. Canada's Express Entry carries recent rounds and their CRS cut-offs. Neither is the same number as the eligibility threshold.
• New side-by-side comparison for two or three routes, including how each one selects.
• New custom what-if: suppose any unconfirmed condition, and stack them.
• What is still missing is now split into what you can answer now and what you would have to obtain.
• Conditions carry the official wording and clause, with a plain-language explanation you can open.
• Four appearance themes, switchable from the overview.
• A short handover screen after the questions, naming what is being compared.

Rule versions, official sources and verification dates remain visible for every route. This app offers neutral self-assessment. It is not legal advice and does not predict approval.

### 1.2 — 2026-09-08

1.2 shifts the focus from a score to what you are missing and what the official threshold actually is.

• New US student routes: F-1, post-completion OPT and the STEM OPT extension. This is the most common path from Taiwan to the US and it was missing entirely. The F-1 route also carries the rule taking effect on 2026-09-15: admission becomes a fixed period ending at the Form I-20 programme end date, capped at four years, with longer stays needing a separate extension.

• The H-1B cap became weighted by OEWS wage level on 2026-02-27: level IV is entered into the pool four times, III three, II two and I once. The app's flat-lottery model has been updated.

• A new section surfaces routes you may not know about: those you can file yourself, without an employer sponsor. They are no longer buried beneath sponsored routes.

• Conditions no longer just ask whether you qualify — they state the published figure and where it comes from: Hong Kong's Top Talent Category A income, Singapore's PEP fixed monthly salary, the German Blue Card threshold with its Residence Act section, Canada's settlement funds.

• The salary and available funds you enter are compared against those figures directly. Conversion happens only where the published rule itself accepts an equivalent in another currency; everything else stays unconfirmed rather than being guessed at from an exchange rate.

• Each route now shows a two-part progress bar: what the rules confirm today, and the ceiling the rule comparison would reach if the unconfirmed conditions all held. That is a conditional statement about published rules, not a probability of approval.

• Every item in the EB-1A and O-1A evidence checklists links to its own eCFR clause, and the checklist now explains the two-step USCIS review: meeting the listed criteria clears only the first step, and USCIS states plainly that this alone does not establish the classification.

• You can now choose the display language: match system, 繁體中文, or English.
