### 2/5 — Display issue on certain iPhones

*2025-06-15, version 2.0*

My first impression on being shown a graph showing my steps with no legend at the bottom wasn’t a good one. I soon realised that the days of the week were there but were obscured by a section of the screen on my model of phone that can’t display anything. If I scrolled up to the next screen I could see the days as the screen moved up. Having to scroll up and down to see this is more trouble than it’s worth for me. I’ll keep looking at the app though

### 2/5 — Nice Idea, but Too lacking

*2024-09-23, version 2.0*

I like the idea and I think it’s obvious it shouldn’t be taken as gospel, like it’s a bit of fun to give you an idea. Anyone treating this as a serious guide is fooling themselves I think.

But I think the app is lacking too much. There’s no menu that I can see, no way to tell the app to sync with health or other things. This in turn means the step count for me is inaccurate compared to my others.

I like the idea but I think it;

1. Should be linked to Lifesum. I was surprised you didn’t login with the same account
2. Have a menu that you can see linking etc
3. I guess if not the above maybe let you manually update the steps it thinks? But this would quickly be a pain

1.* EDIT: I found a “connect to Lifesum” button but it appears to do nothing but open Lifesum.. which seems pointless

I hope this app gets updated because I like Lifesum, and I think this could be kinda neat.

### 3/5 — What does ‘one beer’ mean? 🍺

*2019-11-08, version 2.0*

I love the app. It looks great and it’s really motivating.

But what one earth does ‘one beer’ mean? There need to be quantities!

Also a lot of the foods are American based (hotdog, popcorn). I don’t remember the last time I saw a hot dog for sale in the UK.

### 3/5 — Nice idea but lack of some important features

*2019-11-05, version 2.0*

The idea and ui is very nice however they don’t have widget version to place on watch faces. Also they don’t keep your history of steps, so you cannot make compression in the app.

### 2/5 — Don’t think the calories are accurate

*2019-02-24, version 2.0*

It says that a bag of crisps is over 1000kcal. However a regular bag of crisps is only 120kcal. What kind of crisps are they using to get their information from??? If their calorie amounts are wrong, I don’t see how this app will be useful.

### 2/5 — Needs improvement

*2019-02-14, version 2.0*

Love the idea of this app, just wish it was compatible with other fitness trackers such as fitbit!

### 2/5 — Good idea. Needs better integration

*2019-02-12, version 2.0*

Points for the idea - knowing how much you can eat based on your daily burn is a great motivator. But, and it a big but, this app needs a way to edit the step count you get from other sources and once they’ve done that, make it integrate with Fitbit. What good is it if I know I’ve walked 6500 steps and did an exercise class if it says I burned 45 calories today and can have a piece of celery.

### 2/5 — Improvements Needed

*2019-01-26, version 2.0*

This is a great idea, but at two things I feel could improve it - the capability to see history and to enter steps or km walked manually. Thx

### 2/5 — Fun but inaccurate

*2019-01-22*

It’s a nice app and it functions well. Only problem I had with it was the calorie inaccuracies. It would be off in the calorie amount that is in a certain item for some of them from actual calories.

### 2/5 — Meh

*2019-01-09, version 2.0*

Love the idea but it needs to connect to Fitbit.

### 2/5 — Doesn’t work.

*2019-01-02, version 2.0*

I leave my phone down with 80 steps done. And when I go back to get my phone I’m at 234 steps!? How? I didn’t pick up my phone. Walked around without it..

### 2/5 — iPhone X support 👎🏼

*2018-12-27, version 2.0*

Incorrect screen dimensions for iPhone X. Need to pay to unlock different food. Why is this app suggesting it’s free at all?

### 4/5 — I love the app but

*2018-10-04, version 2.0*

I'm on a fitness journey and i love how this app helps me count the extra calories i do from simply walking and moving around but it keeps unsyncing from lifesum which is what i use for calorie control, so my data is only visible in movesum and not in lifesum.

### 3/5 — Simple & nice, but needs a little more

*2018-09-29*

I like the premise of the app, but notifications don’t work really well and I really wish they had an Apple Watch complication that showed my steps without having to launch the app.

### 2/5 — Not an accurate reflection of steps

*2018-09-11, version 2.0*

Suggestions to improve would be to add features to be able to connect to step counting devices and accounts like Garmin Connect, Fitbit etc. And to be able to look back at past days steps.

### 3/5 — Step counter 👎🏻

*2018-08-30, version 2.0*

This app is exactly what I need and it's cool that it tells you how much weight you've lost by comparing it with food but the step counter itself doesn't work! Please fix this and I'll change my review.

### 1/5 — Calorie burnt wrong

*2018-08-23, version 2.0*

Today I’ve burnt 294 calories so far tracked via Apple Watch the movesum app is counting 424 as much as I’d love to if burnt that much already I haven’t .... I’ve paid for something to not work?

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Shocking

*2020-01-08, version 2.0*

Fat shaming at its best. This app feeds into body shaming, and is highly like to affect people with body image issues and associated eating disorders. So disappointed and angry that apps and other info is still around today, shockingly poor insight.

### 1/5 — Fitbit integration please

*2019-11-18, version 2.0*

Downloaded this app as it looked like it would be useful to tie the step count in with food, sadly now deleting the app as it does not include fitbit steps only the steps counted on my phone.

### 1/5 — Disappointing

*2019-08-19, version 2.0*

I am have been using Lifesum for a while now and recently discovered this app. I wanted to check how many steps I did, but it wasn’t working. Then, I ran for an hour straight hoping that the steps would finally work but it didn’t say I did any steps. Also, I was checking the ‘how many steps do you have to walk to burn off all of the calories’ but it said zero too. Please fix this so other users don’t feel the same way i did.

### 1/5 — Why...

*2019-08-10, version 2.0*

Why would make an app that counts steps and doesn’t allow the customers to sync it with Apple Watch or Fitbit?! Do the developers stick their phone in the waistband of their pants all day?

And apart from that my Fitbit tells me I’ve done 2000 steps today and this app tells me 85.

Is any of the above going to be rectified or should I just delete this app?

### 1/5 — Waste of time

*2019-07-01*

It show the equivalence between a number of steps and calories as food, but i have now idea how to make it count the steps i make in all shorts of activities. Waste of time!

### 1/5 — Data sucker

*2019-05-02, version 2.0*

I used 10 gigs of data in 3 days with this app

### 1/5 — No Fitbit connectivity!

*2019-02-18, version 2.0*

I’m a premium Lifesum user and I’d love to be able track my steps/activity with Movesum too but as it wont allow me to sync my Fitbit. I find it unreliable. I don’t always have my phone on me but my Fitbit is literally attached to my wrist everyday. Please fix this.

### 1/5 — I have a charge from this app but why,

*2018-12-25*

I have Lifesum but not this app and don’t see how I can cancel this I don’t need a counter when lifesum does it already

### 1/5 — Still not working

*2018-10-26, version 2.0*

Is this app dead ? Since 2+ years no one fixed “it doesn’t count steps at all “ problem...

### 1/5 — STUPID AND DISORDERED

*2018-09-25, version 2.0*

This is by far the most ridiculous idea for an app. Food should not be earned or worked off. I hope this fails miserably. I only downloaded it to tell you how DISGUSTING this is. Let people enjoy their food without shame. Idiots.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great!

*2018-05-12, version 2.0*

Love this app, helps you track your steps and set goals for yourself. It also lets you know how many calories you have burned and what that equates to in food. It makes me feel good about myself because I’m like ‘wow have I really burned off 58 cups of tea???’ recommend to just about everyone!!

### 5/5 — Love, love, LOVE!

*2018-04-19, version 2.0*

This app is a simple steps to calorie conveyor, but I really love it. 😝 I love that it tells you how much your steps equals to e.g. 300 steps = 1 coffee (or something of that sort). 👍🏼 The colour scheme and imagery are so cute, and I love the goals setter as well. Also when you click on the food items it tells you the carb, protein and fat content, which is helpful to me. 🙃 I just wish there were a more diverse food options not what the people of London but for lunch; like there’s not any fish. 😕

### 5/5 — Cool and funny.

*2018-01-28, version 2.0*

This app is pretty awesome. It links to the apple health app so if you have an Apple Watch it will just pull the data from there. I use it more to laugh than actually track my steps.

### 5/5 — I love it

*2017-11-28*

I love it

### 5/5 — Love the app!!!

*2016-12-01*

Great app to counting steps on iPhone

### 5/5 — Would rate 0, terrible

*2016-09-19, version 1.7*

It's absolutely atrocious, it doesn't count steps in any way whatsoever! Do not download, it doesn't do what it says on the tin.

### 5/5 — A fun take on food

*2016-01-08, version 1.0*

Love Movesum already, mostly because now I have a tangible way of checking what I could eat based on my steps! Genius!

### 4/5 — Clever and fun little app, but it doesn’t connect to LifeSum

*2022-06-04, version 2.0*

This is a fun way to augment your fitness and diet regime, but I can’t get it to connect to LifeSum. If you touch the link the connect the two it just opens the LifeSum app and then nothing happens.

### 4/5 — On the apple watch?

*2019-11-11, version 2.0*

I downloaded the app and really like it but cant get it on my apple watch?

### 4/5 — Interesting App

*2019-02-03, version 2.0*

I like being able to compare my steps to the foods and if people are unable to discern the difference between information provided as a guide as opposed to ‘absolute accuracy’ information - then why are they still alive? The fact that people put so much belief into an app and information provided without doing their research is the one reason why scammers are so easily able to scam people these days. My only issue with the app is I can’t see my past history, it would be good to have step history available.
