It took awhile, but is to be expected with that size file. I've had the app ever since I had the Canon Vixia M52, Canon Vixia G30, and Mini X, and to this date the tasks do not show a percentage on the progress. It'd be a proper enhancement since it's initial release. ### 3/5 — Won't freakin' upload a file! *2016-03-07, version 1.9.1* This app is pretty good for the majority, but it won't import a file! I just stops while importing and won't tell me why! Help!!! ### 1/5 — What's the point,,,,? *2015-04-02, version 1.8.1* ...of buying a camera marketed as having wifi capability if the app doesn't work with it!? Pixela's web site reads that this app does not support iOS 8, but the app itself says iOS 5 and later. And no customer service email or info. I can see my camera and files using the app, but I can't watch them it download/upload them. Canon you have failed us. I give this a negative 5 stars. ### 2/5 — Very basic, looks outdated *2015-03-04, version 1.8.1* It does play videos on your phone (without requiring any storage space on the phone). But, it doesn't look good, and it doesn't do anything except view and share to youtube/facebook. You can't share in any other way (doesn't use the OS share function), you can't edit, or delete. There are no camera control functions. ### 3/5 — Works Well, Limited Functionality *2015-02-07, version 1.8.1* Just tried the updated app after last using it some time ago (Canon Vixia HF M50). It works fine, but the functionality is very basic. Most notably it only transfers video files back to your iOS device which are recorded in MP4 mode, not AVCHD mode. ### 2/5 — VIxia MINI X *2015-01-10, version 1.8.1* I can't play or save to library but send to youtube or facebook. ### 3/5 — Very basic, but does work *2015-01-05, version 1.7.0* This is a basic app, but it does work. I suspect most users did not read the camcorder instructions, as you must initiate the mobile upload process from the camera. The camera will inform you of the correct SSID and password to use, then you go to your phone's Wi-Fi settings and select the SSID and password from the camera, and you should connect. The camera screen will say connected, but do not tap the "End" icon, as this stop the process, and the camera will stop broadcasting the SSID. Now, start the MovieUploader app and you should be able to select your connected camera, pick a video, and either upload to your phone, YouTube or Facebook. Keep in mind that there are restrictions for video quality; if your recording is too long, or too high of quality, uploading to YouTube or Facebook will not be available as options. ### 1/5 — Terrible *2014-12-06, version 1.7.0* Totally useless..nothing works. Ughhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!! ### 3/5 — Does work with HF R 46 on iPad 3 running ios 7.1 but with difficulty *2014-05-23, version 1.7.0* I could not get this app to work, couldn't get the app to recognise the camera, instructions are NO use so went on the internet and found this and it worked really well - I can view my movies on the app or via a web browser. But for it to work you need to press the play button on the camera and then go to the menu button on the top Left of the screen to access the wifi functions that way. The detailed instructions I found are below ... iPad2 - iOS 6.1.3 - Canon HF R42 Took me a moment to figure out how to use this app to upload movies to my iPad but it does work well. 1. Make sure your movie format is set to MP4. 2. Make sure your video quality is 24Mbps or less. 35Mbps is not compatible on the iPad or iPhone. 3. Record a short video. 4. Now go to playback mode so you can see the video thumbnails on the screen. 5. From video playback mode, click on the home button to bring up the menu. 6. Scroll over to the WiFi symbol in the menu and click it. 7. Scroll up or down to find the icon choice for "movie uploader" and click OK. 8. Camcorder now enters into WiFi mode for movie uploads. You will see the camcorders SSID and password on its screen. 9. Now go into Settings / WiFi and locate the SSID in the iPad list for the camcorder. Select it. 10. Enter the password that is displayed on the camcorder screen to join the WiFi network via your iPad. 11. Once connected the camcorder will say its connected. 12. Open the Movie Uploader App on your iPad and click the camcorders button in the top left corner of the app. 13. Your camcorder should then be displayed, if not try hitting refresh. 14. When you see your camcorder in the list, click it and then choose the media on the camera you wish to review and upload from. 15. Select a video file inside the app and choose to save to your camera roll. 16. After its saved in the camera roll, you can play it back or even import it into iMovie to edit it. (As long as its 24Mbps or less) The other app for remote camera control also works good too but you have to start the WiFi for that while in the record mode and hitting the home button. That is where I was initially confused. Camera control - turn on WiFi from record screen Movie Upload - turn on WiFi from playback screen. Once you have the movies appear on the app You can select the one you want and then on the top right of the screen if you press the share / export button then you can chose to save the movie to your photo roll. ### 1/5 — Doesn't work!!! *2014-04-27, version 1.7.0* Canon get you act together. Just bought a Vixia camcorder and hardly anything works. Bad documentation and marketing stuff that just doesn't work as advertised. The only addition I can think to ask for is support for importing 60p from camcorders such as the HF-R400, HF-R40, and HF-R42. 30p MP4 footage off those camcorders doesn't look amazing and I know newer devices (iPod touch 5g, iPad mini, iPhone 4s-5s/c, basically anything with a lightning connector and the iPhone 4s) can play back 1080p at 60 fps or higher so processing power is no issue. ### 1/5 — App won't recognize camera *2013-12-02, version 1.6.5* I followed all instructions provided but the camera won't connect to the app. It's an HF R30, using iOS 7.
