In particular, 70’s and 80’s horror. Except for this app, all of my data is maintained on my PC. ### 4/5 — Findet viele Filme nicht *2026-02-13* Da ich sehr viele Filme besitze und diese ordentlich archivieren wollte, hab ich mich von der Beschreibung und den Videos die es dazu gibt, entschieden mit MovieBuddy zu arbeiten. Leider muss ich sagen das hier vieles noch nicht klappt. Von 10 Filmen muss man meistens 2-4 selber suchen weil es über das scannen nicht klappt. Es werden keine Versionsunterschiede gefunden und oft mal ein komplett anderer Film angezeigt. Insgesamt stimmt das Layout hier schon sehr gut. Viele Infos zu den einzelnen Filmen und Schauspieler usw… Sehr gut findet ich die option, zu jedem Film gleich einen Trailer abrufen zu können. Im Großen und Ganzen ist die App schon gut. Die Scannfunktion noch verbessern und mehr Versionen zur Auswahl stellen bezüglich welches Medium man hat, also Bluray, DVD oder gar 4g/UHD. ### 3/5 — Needs to be able to import DVD Profiler data *2025-12-07, version 10.0.1* I've been looking for an app that imports DVD Profiler data but sadly this one doesn't, only imports CSV data. Nicht überladen und arbeitet zuverlässig. Was ich vermisse, ist das ich eine eigene Film- Nr. vergeben kann. So wie ich meine Filme auch zu Hause nummeriert habe. Ich möchte bestimmen, welcher Film die Nr“X“ bekommt. Vllt., habe ich es auch übersehen 🤷‍♂️. Leider muss ich Sterne abziehen, weil ich auf meine Anmerkung immer noch kein Feedback erhalten habe. Ich vermisse die Möglichkeit meine DVD‘s zu nummerieren, weil ich alle meine DVD‘s nach Nummerierung Sortiert und Archiviert habe. Diese Möglichkeit sollte die App erfüllen. It’s available while editing the movie, scrolling all way down, and selecting Add Field > User-Supplied ID. Also note: (1) You can make this field always available under the “Edit Movie” / “New Movie” page by selecting Settings > General > Fields to Edit > User-Supplied ID. I’m also a long time user of MusicBuddy pro for my CD catalogue, so decided to switch my movie database to MovieBuddy pro. Exported a csv title list from My Movies, imported it into MovieBuddy Pro, no problem 😁.. then discovered there is no way in MovieBuddy to autofill metadata for the imported titles. 😱So I have a MovieBuddy database of 1300+ titles that I now have to manually enter, title by individual title,to get the metadata added as part of the manual ‘add record’ process. 🤷‍♂️That feels like a deal breaking app limitation to me. .. Error rate is at a minimum 10%+, however out of those, about half come up in the title search. Don't just believe the percentage quoted - they've either cherry picked the DVDs they added or got one in a million lucky! Having said that, the facility to photograph the cover and add text is fantastic if the search function doesn't yield the result you want. It has difficulty with multi packs. If you swype type, it could almost be s fast as typing! Easy to navigate - I give it THE FANTASTIC score or 4 out of five. There is almost always room for improvement and this app will continue to evolve. 🙂 ### 5/5 — Best media database of all time *2025-08-30, version 9.8.2* I have searched and searched for a good movie database and finally found it was MovieBuddy! It’s fast and easy. You can download all movie details with a click of a button, and then it allows you to customize fields and makes any changes that you wish. What the app selects for a movie scanned is sometimes odd and not mainstream, so you need to pay close attention before adding 4. Search by name can be a bit frustrating sometimes with a lot of ‘not even close’ results to search through, worst case was adding the movie “Wall E” 5. I thought mine was until I tried logging in and lost everything. I had thousands of movies logged and it took HOURS to add everything. It’s all gone. I won’t re-add everything just for the possibility of losing everything again. This app is awful. It doesn’t recognise TV series, boxed sets, collectors editions i.e. Lord of Rings. It doesn’t recognise sets of multiple films either. My collection is almost all TV series and collectors or special edition films all of which have to be added manually. ### 1/5 — Fehlerhafter ICloud Sync *2020-10-28* Die Syncronisation mit meinen IPads und IPhone funktinierte eine kurze Zeit sehr gut. Seit Monaten muss ich die Bibliothek immer wieder neu herstellen, dabei werden sehr viele Coverbilder vertauscht, Filme sind doppelt vorhanden und unter falschem Buchstaben einsortiert. Bei einer erneuten Syncronisation bleiben die falschen Bilder erhalten und der Sync funktioniert erst nach mehreren versuchen. Ich habe dem Entwickler geschrieben, auf Deutsch. Ich erhielt eine Antwort auf Englisch. Mein Englisch ist nicht sehr gut. Wenn die Mitarbeiter Deutsch lesen können, warum können sie dann nicht auf Deutsch antworten? Das was ich verstanden habe ist, das der Fehler bei ICloud oder einem falschem / beschädigtem Datensatz liegt. Mir wurde Drop Box vorgeschlagen um das Problem zu beheben (später sollte dann wieder auf ICloud gewechselt werden können). Sorry, aber ich hatte mit meiner ICloud noch nie Probleme. Ich möchte mich nicht bei einem anderen Anbieter anmelden müssen. Ich habe das komplette Pro Set ( Book Buddy etc. )gekauft. Vor allem, weil ein Sync über Apples ICloud angeboten wurde. This will allow you to start syncing from scratch and probably fix any sync issue that you have.
