Then an update came down on the connector via this app and now the app is t reading engine hrs or throttle. I don’t care THAT much about the throttle but the engine hrs is kind of a big feature that isn’t working now. ### 3/5 — Not Q865R stand on compatible *2024-08-21* I just bought a brand new John Deere Q865R EFI stand on mower and I was looking forward to adding it to the app to check all maintenance and mow history I can gain from it and it’s not compatible with the app yet? Come on John Deere it’s been out for almost two years now. ### 3/5 — Decent app, could use more features *2024-01-14* I like this app to keep track of mowing information. I think this app could be better if they included other options instead of just mowing. For instance, I think you should be able to choose an option for why you’re running your tractor. Such as lawn maintenance (spreading seed/fertilizer , thatching, raking/sweeping, aeration, brush removal, or any other fun chores). Another option for winter would be nice (snow blowing/plowing). I find myself doing all these with my tractor but have no way of distinguishing what was done at what times. It would be nice to be able to keep track of when I seeded last or fertilized. I know I’m not mowing in the winter and am doing snow blowing, but that’s the only option I have to keep track of tractor hours. Other than the slight inconvenience of not being able to distinguish between tasks, the app is pretty great. It saved me one day as I thought I turned the key all the way off, but just left it turned enough that it was still “on”. That could’ve drained my battery if I didn’t get the notification as I was attempting to close the app without turning the key all the way off. ### 3/5 — No Celsius *2023-08-17* The app shows you the forecast so you can decide when to mow, but there’s no way to change it to Celsius. ### 3/5 — Needs non-mow options *2022-12-29, version 3.5.6* The app is fine for tracking mowing and maintenance but there is so much more you can do that isn’t tracked. Snow blowing, blading work, weed spraying, etc. the app doesn’t allow you to track any of that. ### 2/5 — Disappointed by John Deere *2022-09-23* The app doesn’t refresh with the installed Hour meter Connector properly. Once one starts to update the hours it does connect. It keeps on remaining de 8 hr maintenance and there is no option to confirm it has been done There is an option to remind for next year and I set it for April, but has no effect on the 8hrs remainder. A bit annoying. The app should be like the lawn mower. Come on guys fix this… ### 2/5 — Good app but NOT iOS Compatible *2021-10-24* I had been using the app all year but when iOS 15 came out and downloaded, the app fails to work properly. It will open but once you click “Mow Now”, it shuts down. I tried deleting and reinstalling (which made me lose all my prior data) and still no luck. It was great keeping track of when and how long each mowing would take but that data appears to be gone now. I have been working with John Deere to try to get it fixed so far John Deere has offered no support. Whatsoever they have given me a runaround since the day I bought it. It is so sad that a company like John Deere cannot put out a quality app that actually works. like I said, save your money because this app will not work. **Developer response:** Hello, We apologize you are not having a good User Experience with MowerPlus. Have you attempted to update via the Equipment Mobile App? Also if you would be willing, please contact the John Deere Global Support Center at 888-476-7827 ### 1/5 — Still doesn’t work properly for an X380 *2025-04-08* I’ve tried two different harnesses and two different Smart Connectors and it’s the same result: have Bluetooth connection two smart connector to the iPhone. The only feedback I get on the app is that Bluetooth is connected and key status is either ‘on’ or ‘off’. So I know I’m getting connectivity. No display for RPM level, battery level, fuel level, or hours. Gauge cluster works properly through harness. I was hoping this latest update which stated fixing compatibility with some models would be implemented. Nothing changed. You guys still have some work to do. Again, I tried two different harnesses, two different smart connectors, and different iOS devices to eliminate any hardware issues. Let’s go so that way I can give you a better review once everything works properly. 😡 ### 1/5 — Mower not found *2024-11-28, version 4.1.0* I think this app has alot of good features that would be helpful but I have a Z760R zero turn but can’t find it listed anywhere when trying to add it. ### 1/5 — Update ruined it *2024-11-07* The John Deere MowerPlus app worked great with my X350 but there was a firmware update for the actual smart connector itself via the app, and since then none of the features work. My mower connects via Bluetooth still and shows that the mower is running, but does not show battery, hours, fuel level or engine speed. So the it’s now useless. ### 1/5 — Amateur Hour *2024-01-07, version 4.0.0* This app was written by amateurs. All it does is crash thirty seconds after launching. My 12 year old daughter could do a far better job. Clicking update just closes the app. No data connection. Reinstalled and reconnected everything - still no luck. If anyone has insight please let me k ow but at this point the product is DOA. ### 1/5 — Can’t find new mowers *2023-03-12* Apparently the dev team is lagging behind or John Deere just doesn’t care about technology enough to keep their apps up to date with their product releases. I just bought a brand new Z320M zero turn and it says that the serial number looks valid but wasn’t found. When I search for the model, it can’t find it either. Do better John Deere. ### 1/5 — App programmed with wrong information *2022-10-24, version 3.5.6* I bought a 2021 S130 lawn tractor this spring. I ordered the Smart Mow Connector and was really looking forward to using it to help me keep my machine in top shape. Once I installed the part though, the app wouldn’t connect. After going through the app’s settings I found that the problem is that this app thinks my tractor should have the hour meter plus module, which isn’t even compatible with my lawnmower. Just to be sure, I loaded the tractor up and took it to the service center. Not only is the module installed correctly, but the service manager was able to connect to it on his android phone without any problems. The biggest problem is that nobody knows who to tell to fix the app, so this bad review is my last ditch effort to get someone to pay attention and correct their error. ### 1/5 — Not working *2022-05-16, version 3.5.3* I tried to install this app and use it for my 1 series sub compact tractor with a 60 inch mower deck. It installed fine. However, it did not work (recognize) my tractor serial number. Easy to track when I fertilize or spray or aerate. Truly hope it’s not eliminated, the equipment mobil app doesn’t have map tracking. ### 5/5 — Really Useful App *2024-04-30* This is a near perfect application for me. I have a zTrak Z370R electric mower. It keeps track of my mowing sessions and reports the SoC of the battery, the average amount used per mow, the times per mow as well as the average time. The graphic of the courses run during the mow may or may not be absolutely precise but they work good for me. I find it very useful. ### 5/5 — Fixed *2024-02-24, version 4.0.1* New update fixed issue where I couldn’t update the firmware on x394. Works perfect now! ### 4/5 — Good App *2024-11-06* This is a great app. It’s free and tracks your mowing. You DO NOT have to buy the tractor module to use it. You can keep track of your mowing and you have a maintenance log also. I saw someone say they need to add more options besides mowing. You really don’t need that. I live in Wisconsin and use my mower for everything from fall leaf pickup to winter snow removal. There is a place where you can add notes for mowing section. Also if the run hours get out of sync between the app and tractor, you can manually adjust it in the app. ### 4/5 — Incoherent calculations *2021-10-26, version 3.5.1* How is speed calculated? The app crashes when I hit “Mow Now”. So I stopped my John Deere Lawn Mower at looked. I didn’t see a single piece missed where it showed. It would also be nice if you can do full screen when you mow so then I can mount My phone on My Mower. Once the problem is fixed. Otherwise the app is great. It's useful to take notes on now height and other info you may want to reference, especially if you now multiple lawns. The force touch "Mow Now" feature is a great addition! The "Share Mow" feature could be used to show customers the job is completed or share with your geeky mowing friends. ;) Lots more good things to say about the app if I had more time.
