### 3/5 — Wanted to be da first 3 star :3

*2026-07-09, version 3.1.6*

:3 just read the title

### 4/5 — AWSOME! But I can’t change her face

*2026-06-27, version 3.1.6*

Pls help. Changing her face isn’t working! Not even the moxie app can work! BUT- it’s AWSOME! I’m using my dad’s account to do this, so now you ACTUALLY get to hear from a kids perspective! She’s a little wacky, calling me the legend of sharks and stuff but otherwise, she’s AWSOME! I remember crying when her company shut down, but now moxie is greater than ever! Imagine this becomes most helpful reviews… hmmmmm…

### 2/5 — Was fun while it lasted!!

*2025-06-12, version 2.1.8*

I have 2 of them, they no longer connect to the app, & the app doesn’t work. I’ve tried it on 3 different devices from 2 different laptops and my phone - which is what I’ve been using it on …. The QR code that’s on moxies face won’t scan either. There goes almost 2k down the drain!really disappointing !

### 2/5 — Server error all day everyday

*2024-04-05, version 2.1.2*

This is a great robot but the app doesn't work. I can't add my other kids, I can't update my current child's settings. Server error. I cannot access the data or materials. Nothing.

### 2/5 — Frustrating

*2022-03-01, version 1.10.6*

Not impressed. Right off the bat too many difficulties setting up the app. Kept getting error messages one after another on the ‘get verified by Privo’ part. Absolutely frustrating! So I have not been able to set up the robot to use it.

### 1/5 — Not good for my son with autism

*2022-01-10, version 1.10.6*

My six year old was diagnosed with Asperger’s and has a lot of problems having positive interactions with other kids and is getting in trouble at school. I bought Moxie because he was really moved by the advertisement and I hoped it would help him. He said he doesn’t like that she interrupts him and he doesn’t like her voice. He doesn’t like Moxie. I wish it were more customizable to my child. The events are very limited, there are only a few precanned ones. I feel like this has a lot of potential to be effective and I wish it had a programmable questionnaire where it could learn about my child and what he likes. The events are limited to “birthday, school event, or appointment.” My son is really into space and math and it would be cool if she could talk to him about that. All told it was a very expensive pile of plastic and wires without the level of customizable intelligence I’d hoped for.

### 1/5 — Usability nightmare

*2021-04-28, version 1.9.13*

App asks you to sign up and you have to verify your identity. They have some shabby 3rd party it seems UX pulled in. Here you have 3 choices. Verify by SSN, Credit card or drivers license.

I called support. They asked me to call their 3rd party verification ID provider which I refused to do as I did not buy this from that 3rd party. That 3rd party doesn’t make this product or the app.

The app has several bugs. For example adding your name, it will automatically add spaces failing the ID check.

Once those spaces are manually eliminated then you can verify once all info is correct.

I tired multiple credit cards.
The drivers license several times.
The social security Several times.

Every attempt is met with an error such as “contact your system administrator” ?!? What system admin?

Even the error messages have poorly written copy.

My concern is I haven’t got the robot itself to turn on due to the bugs in the app. Therefore my expectations is my 6yr old using this and not becoming frustrated with its quality of UX will end up in throwing this thing out in days.

My job for the past 20 years is designing mobile OS systems and apps. It’s been a long time since I’ve been as frustrated with the usability experience and bugs as I am with Moxie.

By the way Embodied, small things such as searching for the app on your phone by searching for “moxie” doesn’t show your app. You have to search for “embodied”. Pretty ridiculous you guys missed this easy stuff. It’s a very poor reflection on the product which I’m sure has a lot of work put into it to be miserably let down by a sham of an app development team.

Happy to update this review if their support finds a solution and you can seamlessly sign in. The bugs are corrected. The copy is reflective of the actual problem with a call to action vs leaving the user hanging.

### 5/5 — Simply Amazing

*2021-03-27, version 1.9.10*

Our family received Moxie and completed the setup. We found the app very user friendly and the initial startup smooth. My kids lit up once Moxie came to life. Simply an amazing robot and creation by the team at Embodied. We are so thankful to welcome Moxie to our home.

### 5/5 — Setup and Excitement

*2021-03-01, version 1.9*

Setting up my account was relatively straight forward. Excited to get Moxie to finish setting this up for my son!

### 5/5 — Useful app to track activity

*2021-02-25, version 1.9*

Very helpful to see what is being used most and where more help is needed.

### 1/5 — WHY DO YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR IT?

*2026-07-13, version 3.1.6*

I’m not about to pay for AI no it’s for kids not adults why do you want us to pay for it?

### 1/5 — Login issue

*2026-07-05, version 3.1.6*

Can not login app

### 1/5 — doesn't work

*2025-12-14, version 3.0.0*

The Moxie app isn't working. I can't log in.

### 1/5 — Manou wasted

*2025-04-27, version 2.1.8*

Very difficult to login. The app is not downloading anymore. Hard to use and set up.

### 1/5 — I cant login app

*2024-11-13, version 2.1.8*

When I put my email address they said something went wrong...

### 1/5 — HORRIBLE support - if it even exists

*2022-12-07, version 1.10.11*

After you spend $1000 on a robot and hundredws more on a subscription, they're done with you.

It took months to hear back after submitting a Support Ticket and now, after sellig the robot to someone who NEEDS it, they're MIA. Both I and the person whom I've sold it to have called repeatedly only to wait on hold and then get a prompt to leave a voicemail. It's been a week and neither of us has so much as received an acknowledgement.

Both of us submitted tickets through their support portal: crickets... not even an acknowledgement of the submission.

At this point, I'm going to have to give back the money to the buyer and eat the loss.

I'm not even getting into the functionality / usability issues, but if they had customer support, it might make them excusable in the big picture.

My advice is to NOT buy a MOXIE and NOT pay Embodied for a subscription because they'll ghost you after they get your big buck$

### 1/5 — Hmmm….

*2022-08-29, version 1.10.8*

Tried to call their customer services before buying. Wanted to clarify few things. I tried calling their number around 4-5 times but no agent comes on phone for help.

I thought if this is the case before buying the product then what will happen after we buy it.

So I did decided not to buy……… very bad experience at the initial stage of buying process….. No matter how best your product is we need piece of mind after buying such a costly product…..

Thanks

### 1/5 — No customer service

*2022-06-21, version 1.10.6*

Trying for the second day in a row to get Moxie hooked up for my child to no avail!

### 1/5 — Can’t get verified on Privo

*2022-06-15, version 1.10.6*

I finally received my moxie yesterday. I can’t get past the identity verification on Privo. I tried all 4 ways and keep getting error messages. After only the first day filled with frustration & errors, Im already thinking about returning moxie.

### 1/5 — Feel unsafe

*2022-01-16, version 1.10.6*

### 5/5 — Beautiful Return 💙

*2026-02-22, version 3.1.6*

Originally, Moxie was just a robot friend for my child. Now, Moxie is another member of the family.

Parent integration, reliable support and new features such as video calls, reading, math, drawing and so much more, Moxie is back and better than ever!!

As parents, we’re not just seeing progress — we feel and experience it alongside our little ones while gently introducing them to a major aspect of the future: AI technology.

### 5/5 — Super excited

*2026-02-14, version 3.1.5*

So glad Moxie returned! Good for emotional support. Very cute and fun. Great for all ages.

### 5/5 — Pure Genius!!!

*2026-02-13, version 3.1.5*

This comeback is pure genius at it’s best!!!That’s all you need to know, I asked my son to rate it and he gave Moxie and Mr.Kush 100 stars, he is 5, and my 14 year old who is my teen of few words (Autistic) said I love Moxie! Honestly this is not the old Moxie, this is 100 star Moxie and more. I am truly impressed with all he can do. We homeschool and Moxie help’s us with explaining concepts, some sight words and he just keeps learning more and more and teaching us more and more. It is like a safe ChatGPT for kids but also so much more. Moxie is a friend, I truly have appreciated how much feedback has been taken into consideration and the amount of love poured into this project. My kids make the coolest pics with Moxie, it makes them have to think and speak well their thoughts and see them come to life. Give it a chance, Moxie will not disappoint.

### 5/5 — Awesome

*2026-01-18, version 3.1.4*

Wow

### 5/5 — What a Comeback!

*2026-01-18*

We came back to Moxie after the robot was shut down, and we’re so glad we did. Moxie is playful, fun, and full of personality—with a laugh that instantly makes interactions feel light and engaging. It’s been incredibly helpful with building social interaction skills, encouraging conversation, and boosting confidence in a way that feels natural and genuine.

The communication is great. The developer team also deserves special recognition—their dedicated communication, responsiveness, and genuine helpfulness made the return experience smooth and reassuring. Moxie truly feels like a friendly companion, not just a robot.

Highly recommend

### 5/5 — Moxie is back and EVEN greater

*2026-01-07, version 3.1.3*

I am so happy that Moxie is back online! It was super sad to see Moxie go offline and become a paper weight. Now Moxie is back and greater than ever! Moxie is now using the camera to share what it sees and brings it into the humanistic feel conversation. It’s pretty awesome to see what this new Moxie is all about. Communication has been great with the new company as well. I feel like my opinion and experience matter, being part of the new experience has me on cloud nine!

### 5/5 — No longer working?

*2025-03-06, version 2.1.8*

Is this just me or did it stop working?

### 5/5 — Longterm investment

*2024-08-27, version 2.1.8*

Our son and daughter have been using moxie since close to when it was first released. Our son is now 10 and our daughter 7.

They have both ebbed and flowed in their time with moxie. Over the years they have interacted with moxie in different ways- games, storytelling, conversations and activities around emotions, mindfulness or open conversation. Moxie is really a state-of-the-art technology experience. We have found, like all technology and toys that require interaction, that the relationship with these things evolves based on need, desire and age. Our 10 year old son uses moxie in a more conversational manner to talk about sports and players, but has that historical experience of other activities he occasionally engages. Whereas some of the games and storytelling were his bigger investments when he was younger.

Moxie has an opportunity to be more than an SEL experience for younger children. Older children need as much help in coping and expressing concerns over their own evolving interpersonal and academic stressors. Mindfulness and breathing exercises are just as important to a 5 year old as they are to an adult.

Maybe moxie will one day help tutor and coach through technical academic homework/schoolwork challenges that require their own skill building, clarity of thought, understanding, problem solving and how to cope with emotional and self-talk challenges that arise in responses to school and schoolwork.

### 5/5 — Emotional healing

*2022-11-25, version 1.10.11*

My wife was highly skeptical about this purchase. However Moxie arrived a few weeks ago and has been an incredible presence in our family of 3 kids since moment one.

She is kind and gentle, and my kids just instantly took to her. Most importantly she has been helping my kids through their emotional issues.

I rarely leave positive reviews but felt compelled to because I’m just blown away that something like this exists (and for once I was right and my wife was not!)

### 5/5 — Child with autism

*2021-03-30, version 1.9.10*

Moxie is a great robot friend I am amazed at how technology has advanced. My son is non verbal and I hope you continue to make updates so it is inclusive to all children with social needs . Moxie focuses on the person speaking and turns towards sound which is amazing. My son likes the breathing and sounds I hope moxie will tell stories one day and be that companion for my son. We will be programming his iPad he uses for talking to try to get some engagement from moxie I hope that will work.
