I’m encountering issues updating the gimbal firmware via my iPhone. My iPhone 15 Pro is running iOS version 18.1.1. Using the iPhone app (which is fully updated), the update process appears to complete successfully, but the firmware version remains unchanged. The app then continues to prompt that a new firmware version is available. Reattempting the update always reverts to the same result, suggesting the update isn’t being applied. Additionally, I’ve noticed another issue that may or may not be related: when the gimbal is stationary on its tripod with a light camera mounted, it quickly enters “Sleep Mode” while I’m navigating the menu. I have to repeatedly wake it up, which doesn’t seem like normal behavior. I’d appreciate your guidance on resolving these issues. ### 2/5 — Crashes and Loses Connection *2024-02-28, version 3.1.0* Love the Slypod but this app is ruining the experience. I had it crash 10-15 times today and ruin several shots in the process. ### 2/5 — Still does NOT WORK *2023-11-27, version 3.0.8* Until recently I’ve not had any issues with the app. But something happened with the recent update. The fixed point track recording is not working. I can set my points which is usually around three. I can set the duration but once it starts and gets going a small window pops up saying there’s too many points. The track recording finishes or acts up and suddenly there’s up to 9 points. Something has malfunctioned. I’ve deleted the app and tried again and the problem persists. Please fix this. Update November 2023: for a time I could get the linkage control to work. Get my footage and I’m good. Don’t use the set up for a couple of weeks and BOOM it does not. It continuously times out. I’ve deleted the app, restarted my phone, redownloaded the app and the problem persists. I don’t know what the flying monkeys at Moza are doing but as a customer I expect better for what we pay for this equipment. Fix Your App. ### 3/5 — Useful but unstable *2023-06-07, version 3.0.7* The app’s features and simplicity is great, but unfortunately some updates break it completely and it crashes a lot or can’t load at all. Otherwise, works okay. ### 2/5 — Needs a lot of work *2021-09-25, version 2.3.10* Right off the bat: MOZA products are not for the faint of heart… I recently got the mini-p based off a recommendation from Camera King, their online store. It’s been a huge struggle trying to get everything to function smoothly unlike other stabilizer manufacturers. They are not DJI! So, don’t expect ease of use. Moza is reluctant to intelligently update their apps to work properly. But more annoyingly, their firmware updates for the stabilizers themselves are minimal and very buggy. They need to invest into making their products software stable before releasing more mediocre gimbals. I’m very annoyed by their unwillingness to listen to customer requests and update their products to function adequately. Moza products that I owned: MOZA mini-p (current) MOZA mini-mi (free gift for my troubles) (current) MOZA AirCross 2 (returned) Pros: - Gimbals are solid and constructed well - Smooth joystick movements - They come with very nice cases for travel and storage Cons: - The apps are almost unusable - Balancing the pro & mid-pro stabilizers themselves are a pain. Not good for quick setup. Notes: If you use the object tracking function in the app, make sure you are 100% balanced. If off just a tiny bit, the tracking will make your gimbal go nuts! It tossed my phone across the room using the mini-mi. Screen goes black right after opening. Complete trash. ### 2/5 — da geht noch mehr *2021-07-23, version 2.3.7* im Großen und Ganzen ist die App okay. Aber vieles könnte besser sein. So ist ein Neuverbinden nötig wenn das iPhone Display erlischt war. Aber viel schlimmer ist das umständliche programmieren eines Bewegungsablaufs, der dann leider auch nur linear abläuft was an jedem Punkt zu einer ruckartigen Bewegung führt. Weiche Animationscurven stehen weit oben auf meiner Wunschliste. Asks for me to update after updating every time app is opened. The motor switch button does not turn off in the calibration section for either the gyro or accelerometer. Also tried contacting Moza support and they did not address the situation. ### 1/5 — Thus far worthless *2021-04-19, version 2.3.2* I have the air 2 and so far have not even been able to get the app to connect or find the gimbal. It just acts like Bluetooth isn’t turned on or the app doesn’t have permission to use it. Also mozas support page is down. I wish DJI made something similar to the Slypod. The controls within the app are not usable. You can not get granular control when trying to set your motion. You can’t safe any presets to repeat the same motion. Due to the unusable controls it will take you close to an hour to get a simple motion using a gimbal and slypod. Controlling a slider via Bluetooth should not need my location data. This is just a shameless privacy breech to gain personal data. And I'm not going to tolerate that. As a result the app will not allow me to use it. The developer claims in the app details that they do not collect any data. This is clearly not true. I will be returning my Slypod for a refund. I do not recommend this app or the Slypod. I was kinda disappointed at it because I don’t really know how to use it .. I keep try n trying after few weeks then I had learned a lot. And I’m start loving it. It’s very simple it’s not that hard to use. Patience is the key 🔑.
