Cannot start playing entire album, you have to add songs individually. ### 3/5 — Works but primitive browser *2018-12-21* I recently switched from android to apple phone. The android mpd client apps let me browse by artist or album or genre... by reading tags I assume. Wish I could do that in MPDluxe! It would be great that this is isdue be resolved. If I connect my iPhone to private network with just the server and no default gateway it doesn’t connect If I add a default gateway, all my internet traffic is hijacked by the private network. Solving these two points 5⭐️ ### 2/5 — MPDluxe *2017-06-05* It gets two stars because it works well with iOS 10.x but it is far from being as versatile as MPoD which unfortunatly is not maintained anymore. The worst thing is, that if you browse to an album folder depending on the tagging it will show the tracks of an album in alphabetical order, which in itself is not a problem MPoD does the same. If you then start playback it also plays the tracks in alphabetical order, which is utter nonsense. MPoD shows the tracks of an album in alphabetical order, too but if you start playback it will play the tracks in the order like they are on the album. Imagine Peter and the wolve, which is a story in different chapters MPoD plays the chapters in the right sequence, MPDluxe plays them in the wrong (alphabetical) order which is very annoying. Why MPoD is able to read the tags correctly and why MPDluxe is not able to do this I do not know. I would much rather pay for an up to date version of MPoD. ### 3/5 — Good app but... *2017-05-08* For several years I have used MPoD and have been very satisfied but now that has been abandoned I have started looking for a replacement. This app meets most of my needs but it only allows for one MPD server configuration. I have 3 MPD servers, one in each of 3 rooms. I use raspberry pi servers to connect to various internet radio station. A name for the server and the ability to configure multiple servers would probably boost this up to a 5 star app for me. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Very buggy *2018-05-11, version 1.8* Have constant problems refreshing contents of folders and playlists ### 1/5 — Help *2018-05-05* I previously purchased this thinking it was a standalone music player, but I had problems and asked for a refund. However my friend showed me how to get it working so I purchased the app again for £2.99 but it keeps automatically closing after a few seconds. Unsure if this is a security feature to prevent people using the app after getting a refund ? If so can you help me ? I cannot seem to find an email address for app support. Or perhaps it has features that I have not figured out how to find - needs better documentation. Big example - it shows your saved playlists that I have saved in other clients, but how do you get one of those playlists to load into the current playlist and actually play? It seems to expect me to click on every song in the saved playlist to make it show up in the current playlist - useless! So if I have 500 songs in a saved playlist that is 500 clicks. I've tried swiping various directions on the playlist but the most that did was give me the option to delete it. If there is a way to do this - it may be simple but I have no way to know because there are no support contact details. Can I get my money back on this - or can the developer provide some support? Avoid. On the plus side it looks prettier than the main free mpd client. If anyone has a problem with the app not connecting to their MPD server, be sure you enable your MPD server to listen on external interfaces first check your MPD conf file. (App dev- you should add this helpful hint on a cxn failure to avoid confusion) ### 4/5 — You should charge more *2022-12-20* The only viable solution for Chord 2go Was ready to return all of my Chord setup until I have stumbled upon this app. Please implement the album cover function to make it 5 stars. More than happy to pay $9.95 for it with cover art. The only MPD controller on the market NOT to intrude on the data play chain. Others say they don’t but they do. Album cover art, please! ### 4/5 — Licht und Schatten *2020-02-23* Die App läuft ziemlich stabil, hat aber eine etwas gewöhnungsbedürftige Oberfläche, speziell bei den Playlists. Einmal vertippt und sie ist weg und kann auch nur lokal gespeichert werden. Es gibt keine Mehrfach Connections, sprich bei einem Wechsel des Mod Servers muss die Ip geändert werden. Aber im Großen und Ganzen funktioniert alles und mit den Unzulänglichkeiten kann man leben. Im übrigen könnte der Entwickler dafür gerne auch 5,- € verlangen. My only complaint is that I'm wanting to replace MPOD with MPDluxe and while MPOD lets you configure it to use multiple MPD servers, apparently MPDluxe does not.
