I agree with the previous comments. If I’m streaming MPR  and I get a call, or click on a FB post with sound, MPR doesn’t pause as it used to. So disappointed in this “upgrade.”

Looks like the new app is used for massive data mining and its shared with “social media” companies they now try to track you all the time via GPS, and what you are doing within the app and any other websites and are apparently working to start forcing you to identify yourself to access “news” similar to what the BBC, CBS etc. did self canceling if you will. Quickly moving forward to a future dead internet. As Everyone wishes you to allow them to essentially use malware as condition to access their “service”.

Impossible to hide/pause/shut down. It turns itself back on when I take a phone call.

When AirPods are taken out or put back in the case the app automatically starts playing through the phone speaker, even if the app has been previously paused. Very disruptive and very annoying. There does not seem to be a setting to change this.

This release also includes performance and reliability improvements.

This update improves deep linking, notifications, and navigation in MPR News. Push notifications that point to the live stream now open more reliably to the correct destination, donation links can open directly in the app, and topic pills on the homepage now open the full collection or topic results instead of only filtering the visible Top Stories. We’ve also improved in-app web page behavior to reduce unwanted pop-ups.
