If you only have the app active on apple care play it’ll work but once you want to use a map, the app stops. ### 4/5 — Love it! … But app constantly crashes after a while *2025-06-15, version 3.2.6* See above. It’s usually a few weeks after downloading that the app will no longer function. Never had this issue on previous phones. Drops out constantly. ### 3/5 — Love The Current *2024-11-16, version 3.2.6* The current is a great radio station, so that's a big plus for this app. Also it does connect to Sonos so I use this app more often now that the Sonos one has become so messed up. Its main bug is that the song listing stops updating after one or two song so you have to close the app and reboot it to actually know what's playing. ### 1/5 — App crashes again *2024-05-16, version 3.2.6* With the recent iOS 17.4.1 update the MPR app returns to its previous frequent crashing. Another chapter in the frustrating history of a terrible app. I originally wrote this review for the last iOS update. Nothing has changed. Like a broken record. ### 2/5 — Remarkably awful streaming app *2024-04-27, version 3.2.6* This app has one job- stream MPR content. It’s amazing how often it’s unable to do that. The stream cuts out, freezes, cuts ahead, sometimes the app itself crashes. Not to mention how often it randomly inserts ads on top of the stream, meaning you just completely miss out on a couple minutes of news or music. Laughably buggy, consistently irritating. ### 1/5 — Please fix it *2024-04-01, version 3.2.6* Currently I can’t use the app at all. The stream stops as soon as I open another app or when the phone goes to screen saver. Only started that in the last week or so. iOS 17.4.1 ### 2/5 — Unstable outside of Mn *2024-03-22, version 3.2.6* I love staying connected to Minnesota when traveling and the MPR app lets me do this, but not consistently. It will simply stop streaming as long as several hours. I thought at first it was poor cell service but have discovered that other streaming apps still work including other public radio apps. Its reliability is much better closer to home. I don’t understand why this can’t be fixed, considering that I can stream TV news (KSTP) with no interruptions, and that includes video! Incidentally, Wisconsin Public Radio app is just as bad. Your “support” link on App Store cannot be opened in safari (per safari ). Pretty much a cluster, guys. Would you mind fixing it all because I count on that content. Thanks. Joseph Mn ### 1/5 — Terrible! *2025-07-29, version 4.15.7* The iPhone version of this app is Terrible!… 0- Install the app called MPR Radio from the App Store. 1- Click the app. This opens an app called Minnesota Public Radio 3- Click the icon marked MPRNEWS (because none of the 3 other icons mentions radio). This takes you back to the App Store on the MPR NEWS News app! 4- Click on Open to open it. This opens the MPRNEWS app (still no sign of radio! Oh at the bottom there is LISTEN! Maybe that’s the radio :) 5- Click on LISTEN to find a page entitled MPRNEWS where you have an option for STREAMS and PROGRAMS. 6- In STREAMS, click on the icon marked MPRNEWS (still no Radio) to open the MPRNEWS radio app, which is what you used to get with one click in the old app… ### 1/5 — Old app *2025-07-18, version 4.14.17* I don’t like the new app! Always skewing your interviews in favor of the left and demonizing the right. From talking negativity about Trump to anyone in favor of him and, from what I can tell, misrepresenting the numbers attending Trump's rallies. FYI there were 30 k at the St Cloud State college campus. 7k inside and the rest outdoors. Live your lies though and say he's lying instead. Maybe get some integrity and go against the liberal grain a bit. YOU DO NOT REPRESENT MINNESOTA WELL. When I’m home, I listen on the app as well. I notice many of the less favorable reviews are from several years ago.
