They now have a note on their website. The square it is on, is also undergoing major construction. Our entire stay was full of dust. Their restaurant is closed and so they have what looks like a basic office cafe for breakfast. There is no reception/concierge area, just some very miserable staff behind what looks like a makeshift desk, doing check in Rubbish is left in the corridors all day Very much a hotel that is not ready ### 3/5 — I want to like this app so badly.. *2024-06-24* When I first heard of SmithHotels, I immediately downloaded the app and was excited to try them out. I’m a frequent traveler who loves to explore boutique hotels and initially I was impressed by the format of their write ups and I must say that they have some great finds on here. But.. the mobile app is just unusable. Every search takes 10-15 seconds to load, and when scrolling the list of results it will need to pause to load every 1-2 options. The search UX is confusing, and searching using the map is tedious. I want to see them succeed, but for now.. I’m going to hold off and actually utilizing them for bookings ### 4/5 — Queensberry Hotel Bath *2023-09-11, version 4.0.9* What an absolutely lovely hotel. Great location with wonderful personal service. Fabulous bedroom overlooking the garden and cosy sofa area to relax. It was perfect for a night away. Gave us time to explore Bath and enjoy a pretty delicious cocktail on the terrace before dinner. Definitely recommend. However being made aware of the difference in car parking and room price for those who didn't book directly was a little intrusive. We are staying with you and loving your hotel, don't make us feel different. ### 3/5 — D-Resort Sibenik *2023-08-26, version 4.0.9* We stayed for three nights and were a bit disappointed. The junior suite is excellent in size, but does not quite have the service to match. Generally the staff are friendly and helpful but the exterior facilities are quite tired, and in particular the two pools both need serious cleaning enhancements. They were dirty and also in need of repair. Similar some of the garden areas were below par with debris and broken glass around, and not cleared up when we mentioned it to reception. The whole place seemed under occupied (is it badly missing Russians and Ukrainians?) and the ease of getting away to the town or the nearby islands is an offsetting benefit. There are some excellent off site restaurants around, though some are super expensive, but some are very good value, with access from D resort only feasible by boat. The spa facility is excellent but for a sunny short break it seemed almost superfluous to the average visitors needs. We did not book through Mr and Mrs Smith, (but as part of a BA package)but our booking details at the hotel did have us as Mr and Mrs S clients, which is odd. We did get a tiny irrelevant local souvenir. ### 5/5 — The Terrace Rooms & Wine Ventnor Isle of Wight *2023-03-28, version 4.0.9* Fantastic wine focussed boutique hotel on the Isle of Wight. Must use if traveling around the world! ### 3/5 — Hotel Pulitzer Buenos Aires *2023-02-23, version 4.0.9* Stayed 8-10 Feb Just to let you know that the Smiths Extra you advertise for this hotel is not strictly correct. The ‘free cocktail’ in the hotel bar/restaurant did not include a cocktail- just a house beer, glass of house wine or soft drink. Small point but a bit disappointing. This Riad is a beautiful haven behind a secret door.. Amazing roof top terrace to relax and watch the sunset. The food was great standard. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff, from the cook, waiters, to the chauffeur. They were all very attentive and helped us with the booking of restaurants to day trips. They went to great lengths for New Year’s Eve, we had a lovely meal with music and dancing. They made it a special break for two families celebrating a 50th birthday. ### 3/5 — Too slow to load pictures *2022-10-10, version 4.0.8* Even when I’m connected to Wi-Fi, the pictures don’t load, or only load very, very slowly. I quickly give up because what’s the point of holiday-dreaming without pictures? They will charge you full amount regardless if you used points or not. This was my first time booking Mr and Mrs Smith and I was looking forward to a great trip. But my ears would not let me fly so I canceled on the 14th day prior to check in. I got my points back but they charged me over $400 with zero compassion!! Not impressed at all with this customer service 👎🏽 ### 1/5 — Infuriating *2026-01-11, version 4.1.8* So many error messages, I can’t actually book the room ### 1/5 — “Access denied” *2025-10-13, version 4.1.6* App isn’t working since the last update, only being shown error: access denied when trying to search in countries ### 1/5 — Very poor service *2025-01-14* I used Mr & Mrs Smith to book a hotel for an upcoming trip. About a week after doing so, I needed to cancel. The terms clearly stated I could cancel cost-free 48 hours ahead of check-in, and this was over a week ahead of that time. When I went to cancel, there was no button for me to click to do so, but instead I had to “request” Mr & Mrs Smith to do this for me and give them 48 hours to get back to me. I did that but also emailed the hotel directly to cancel, and it got back to me in about 30 mins to confirm the cancellation. Two days after the hotel cancelled the booking, Mr & Mrs Smith emailed me to tell me that the tax rates had changed for my upcoming hotel reservation! I emailed them back to explain the situation - and hours later got a message saying they were “backed up” on emails, and would respond to me when they could! I wrote back and asked them to please correct their records, that I had already canceled with the hotel days before. When I visited the hotel’s website, I noticed the price offered to me there was roughly $400 cheaper for the stay than Mr & Mrs Smith were charging me. Based on my experience, I don’t see any value to the service - had I worked directly with the hotel, I would have saved a significant sum and also the trouble of dealing with Mr & Mrs Smith for cancellation. I don’t see any value to the service. ### 1/5 — Fix the weird glitchy loading screen *2024-07-10, version 4.0.10* Without doubt one of the most annoying apps I’ve used in a long time. Every time I try to filter my location I get a weird loading page. It’s a shame because the hotels look good ### 1/5 — Dated app for a company who claims to be sleek and sexy *2024-03-21* After all this time still it doesn’t rotate the screen to horizontal, you can only see it as vertical in your iPad. Also when you want to add dates to your search, dates displayed as some alien language and you can’t read anything. Impossible to select a date because you can’t read them. Bad app for iPad overall. Use tablet hotels app it’s much better. ### 1/5 — Why their hotels seem cheaper *2024-02-15, version 4.0.9* Mr and Mrs Smith hotels cost a little bit less than on other websites. The secret is they exclude cleaning charges from the price per room. The website obviously does not clearly inform you about this beforehand and the hotel just presents you with a bill at the end of your stay. ### 1/5 — Oddfellows in the Park *2023-10-02, version 4.0.9* The hotel, staff and food are lovely. What the detail does not tell you is that it’s right under the flight path - you can practically see the tread on the tyres of the planes. The noise is insane and there’s no let up. Only between 2.30-4.30am. It feels so calm and tranquil. Definitely the best option on Milos if you value isolation and beauty. Manos greets you and looks after you so so well during your stay. Nothing is too much trouble. Many years ago, I went to Lake Como with Mr and Mrs Smith, and was given an amazing bottle of wine from the hotel, and the Mr and Mrs Smith staff tracked down the bottle of wine and where I could buy it in the UK. I then recently had a trip have to change last minute, the team member managed rebooking and organising my trip. I truly appreciate this level of customer care and recommend Mr and Mrs Smith to anyone. ### 5/5 — Il Sereno *2024-06-17* I recently traveled for an adult get away weekend in northern Italy, specifically Lake Como and was again impressed with this property. The staff was fantastic at being courteous and helpful and food I thought was out of this world. The two restaurants offered many options from fine dining to a all day bar menu. The property was Instagram stunning and unlike other similar properties had all the reality of the beauty when you arrived. There were countless activities from hiking to boating on and off property which made it a perfect spot . With that said If one is looking for the Ibiza party vibe this isn’t the spot for you as it’s quiet and calm nestled on the lake shore. ### 5/5 — Gorgeous George *2024-05-31* Five nights at Gorgeous George did not feel like enough. This is one of the most charming hotels and the staff are absolutely the best. Having worked in luxury hospitality for 30 years I know when I write that a hotel is a winner if you can’t wait to eat in their restaurant. We actually cancelled outside dinner reservations one evening to have another dinner at GiGis. The location is perfect and the amenities in the room were lovely. Everything is well thought of. The only point I’d suggest having run restaurants and been a Food and Beverage Director is consider cloth napkins in the restaurant. The quality of the food out of the kitchen is world class but the napkins detract from it. ### 5/5 — Casacau, Rome *2023-10-29, version 4.0.9* We had an amazing 48 hours in Rome staying at Casacau. Pino, the owner made sure we had everything that we needed. Fresh eggs, milk and croissants were hanging on our door each morning. The location was perfect, a few hundred metres from the Trevi fountain, 10 minute walk from the Spanish steps. 15 minutes to the Colosseum and only 25 minutes walk over to Vatican City. Pino recommended restaurants for dinner. Loved the free hotel transfer. The hotel we stayed in was out of this world. As it was our anniversary we received a free upgrade. We had a slight issue on check out but the customer relations team at SmithHotels was straight on it. Fantastic website. Fantastic choice of hotels.
