The only problem is every 3-5th game it freezes and has to be restarted. ### 3/5 — Freezes in Duel Mode *2024-06-17* Great game. Nice to be able to play it on the go. But two issues: When the computer plays the wild card token (move anyone) about half the time it moves no one but expends the token anyway. This is not allowed, as far as I know, and can mess up my strategy. A bug. A cancel button would also be nice when you touch the wrong icon. Cannot use the duel online mode at all. Also when you choose the harder levels, the game crashes. Will be getting a refund. ### 3/5 — Poorly balanced *2019-06-07* As other reviewers have suggested, this game is poorly balanced. I don’t have a problem with the AI, because I think it would be easier to beat if the game were designed better. The biggest problem seems to be the suspect cards that give Jack extra sandglasses, which prematurely ends the game. The detectives have 6 turns to find Jack, but if he picks up a card that gives him 2 sandglasses on the first turn and another that also gives him 2 sandglasses on the second turn, that’s game over. That’s not the AI being clever—I can win in 2 turns doing that if I’m playing as Jack, too! Playing as Jack on any difficulty is way easier than playing as Sherlock on the easiest setting. It’s no fun when your AI opponent has the game mechanics working in their favor and you never get the full 6 turns to do your best. The suspect cards should be reworked or just removed entirely. ### 4/5 — Fun game but desperately needs an “undo” button *2019-06-07* I read this comment above several times before downloading and I couldn’t agree more. On easy mode the game is entirely contrived in the AIs favour. Mr Jack is ALWAYS the last possible suspect it can be. Always get the above error. The login to Asmodee is correct because it works for Ticket to Ride. Because I can’t get logged in, the Mr Jack app is useless to me. I’ve played this to death, and I’ve seen my skill with it grow steadily - I thought it was simply impossible at first, but then I learned to anticipate the AI’s moves and plan ahead for subsequent rounds. The interface is a little glitchy on my iPad (and the game is simply too small to be enjoyable on my phone), but I’ll forgive the clunkiness because I enjoy the game so much. I’ve logged over 1,200 plays in “Medium” difficulty, with (according to the app) a 70% win rate, and I still rate this as my “go to” game for a quick break. ### 5/5 — Short games but lots of fun *2017-09-15* I love this game. Each game is only a few minutes long, about the duration of a good poo. It's not overly complicated, but enough of a challenge on the hard setting to make you have to think and give you a feeling of satisfaction when you win. The game is VERY tough on easy to start with. It's like a chess game. You have to really concentrate and anticipate where the AI can/will move. HOWEVER, this app is not too hard! Challenging AI is a genuine boon in games like this and playing against this AI has made me better at the game. I think its quality is a huge plus. Interface is great despite minor, minor quibbles quibbles.
