I am a secondary English teacher and a father of four young children. My third is currently learning to read using synthetic phonics and is struggling a wee bit. What is great about this app is that we can see exactly what her own teacher will be doing in the classroom, so can work with the same approach at home, reducing stress and tears. Beatrice loves this app and her two older brothers love helping her with it. His use of jargon: "graphemes", "phonemes", "blending" etc grates at first, but my daughter doesn't seem to worry about it, and it helps to know this stuff as well. As a professional, it's also great to have an insight into the work going on in junior years. I'm wondering if I could have a go at something similar, but would certainly struggle to come up with something as good as this. The children at school love it and there is a queue to use it on independent learning time. I have had no trouble at all installing or hearing sound. Great for the home or car too, want a peaceful car journey?? Download this app, will keep the children entertained for hours.
