### 4/5 — Works well, but needs polishing

*2026-08-01, version 4.3.0*

Overall the app works pretty well once the wifi adapters are added to the units. There are a few minor inconveniences that I hope will be fixed in future versions. For instance, there are a couple functions on my Mr. Cool remote controls that aren’t available in the app (turbo mode, LED off, etc.) that should be included. The ability to set schedules and link units is a big plus.

### 3/5 — Unit quits following schedule

*2026-05-01, version 4.3.0*

I have 8 units. Units quits following schedule but are still connected to app and can be controlled by app. Anyone know how to fix and why this keeps happening?

### 4/5 — Hardest part is getting the cover off

*2026-04-12, version 4.3.0*

Other than that it is so easy!

### 3/5 — MrCool Smart thermostat

*2026-03-17, version 4.3.0*

I like that i can use it from anywhere, my thermostat came with my 2 ton versa-pro, the app should have better description of setup instructions especially if your not an hvac tech or have any mechanical skills, I can say online support was helpful, you have to click on the type of thermostat you have before it will work, the wire choice was wrong on app from actual thermostat so whoever built this site should have a tech go over everything and the proper corrections should be made as it’s confusing, MrCool needs to spend some money on the app and fix the few mistakes, I’m sure a person who has no experience could easily figure this out but shouldn’t have to if the instructions were better written and an accurate description was in the instruction book that comes with the thermostat. I’d give 5 star.

### 1/5 — Three of the most intrusive and annoying features cannot be controlled from the app

*2026-02-21, version 4.3.0*

The two things that I dislike mostly about this particular AC unit is the piercing beep that the internal unit makes every time you change something, as well as the light emitted by the temperature indicator on the internal unit. These can be disabled by clicking the bottom middle button on the remote control. However, this does not seem to have support in this app. secondly, why do they need to know my GPS location to use this app? Get out of my bedroom.

### 1/5 — Barely works.

*2026-02-12, version 4.3.0*

The head units are okay. But this app sucks.

### 1/5 — Unreliable

*2026-01-24, version 4.3.0*

What’s the point? It’s constantly getting knocked offline. When you try to connect. 80% of the time the network doesn’t even show up on your phone reconnect. Can even use for the purpose I wanted it for.

### 4/5 — Great app

*2026-01-19, version 4.3.0*

It’s extremely easy and convenient to use the MRCOOL app. I appreciate being able to control both of my zones and creating schedules. Lots of flexibility in the scheduling. I had to unlink then re-link the skill from Alexa two times in about a year because one of my zones wasn’t following the schedule correctly. Everything else is just great.

### 3/5 — Accessibility issues

*2026-01-12, version 4.3.0*

For the most part, the app is about 75% accessible. Unable to change the set point when using the VoiceOver screen reader.

### 1/5 — Registration Sucks

*2025-12-31, version 4.3.0*

Attempts to register have been unsuccessful

### 1/5 — Very complicated

*2025-12-20, version 4.3.0*

It’s complicated you have to press many many buttons to turn on and off the AC. This is one of the most horrible touchscreen thermostats I’ve ever used.

### 3/5 — Trouble turning on remotely

*2025-12-17, version 4.3.0*

Having trouble with the application turning heater/ac on remotely. Half the time it tells me it’s off line! When it doesn’t say that I just get the circle of death or it just does nothing. I feel the old app I had worked better

### 1/5 — Terrible app honestly

*2026-07-21, version 4.3.0*

This is probably the worst app that I have on my phone.
Pros: really easy to connect mini-splits without the need to connect to unit’s WiFi (finally!).
Cons:
• App doesn’t care to check if unit is turned on or off by remote!
So if you turned it on in the app and then turned off with remote - unit would be displayed as “forever on” in the app, or if you turn it on with remote it would say Off all the time, and never even care to send a simple call to unit’s api. Beyond ridiculous.
• With remote you can first select the mode and then turn on the unit (which is how it should be). In the app you HAVE to turn it on first and only then it would allow you to change it. Ridiculous.
• I have five zones. Four units I was able to easily switch to Celsius. But not the fifth unit. For that last unit the setting is just missing in the app. I can switch it with remote, but if I use the app - it will switch it back. Looks like someone just forgot to click a button in the configuration.
• Overall lack of decimal degree setting everywhere.
A common practice is to have x.5 C degree adjustments, but not here of course. Only full degree changes which is kinda ok with Fahrenheit, but way too coarse for Celsius.
And what’s funny is that both the remote and unit displays have that decimal section, but it’s just not used because of some weird laziness I guess.
One degree Fahrenheit is roughly half a Celsius degree, so nothing stops it to be there.
• App randomly shows temperatures of the units at 2,5 times lower than it actually is. It’s random, but always around 2,5 times.
• Usage statistics is not only useless, but also very inaccurate. It can easily tell you that you didn’t use at all ac, when it actually worked all day.
• No energy consumption monitoring at all. Seriously?
My wonderful lg window ac not only shows me how much it consumes at the moment, but also day/week/month statistics, and even how much it cost me to run it.
• And lastly: you can’t reset your password! Emails never arrive. How, just how can you not care so much?!

Overall the application looks like it was made by someone who never actually tried to use it and didn’t care about it.
An “Outsource” feel as much as it can be.

Being a software engineer myself I just can’t comprehend how someone cannot care so much about what they make.

### 1/5 — Worst APP

*2026-07-13, version 4.3.0*

3 full days to finally install the app with countless workarounds to finally get it to work. Using this to control a remote home in the winter to keep pipes from freezing and now I learned that in the event of a power failure someone has to be in the house to reset it. None of my other devices require this.

### 1/5 — Error Eal OC

*2026-06-13, version 4.3.0*

Keep this error

### 1/5 — Difficult to use

*2026-06-03, version 4.3.0*

Very trying to set up. It worked locally, then not remotely, asking to add devices when launching app which I’m pretty sure can’t be done remotely. Took dozens of tries to get working, forcing me to pry open Mr. Cool air handler door with a crowbar and reseating wifi thingy, which ruined my uwife’s phone ability to connect. Most frustrating was the offline error telling me my phone was not connected to the internet (it was). It’s working for now, we’ll see for how long. Well, it’s now disconnected (again). Apparently it doesn’t play nice with my eero switching from 2.4 GHz to 5 GHZ and disconnects.

### 1/5 — loses connection often

*2026-05-23, version 4.3.0*

for some reason randomly disconnects mini splits

### 1/5 — Awful support

*2026-05-09, version 4.3.0*

Their website is a mess and reseting your password is impossible

### 1/5 — This app is terrible.

*2026-05-03, version 4.3.0*

This app is terrible. It’s constantly displays wrong and weird temps. My room is currently 62°. The app says 17°…. I can’t change anything either. It just reverts back to whatever previous setting was set.

### 1/5 — DO NOT INSTALL

*2026-03-29, version 4.3.0*

After setting up this app my Mr. Cool has gone haywire. It no longer maintains the temperature I set and instead swings wildly from way too hot to way too cold unpredictably. Uninstalling didn’t fix it either. I recommend staying away. The connection process was horrible and inconsistent taking many times to finally connect only to corrupt my HVAC.

### 1/5 — Used to work great

*2026-03-22, version 4.3.0*

Device constantly goes offline now. Have to re-pair it in the app. Very annoying.

### 1/5 — Wasn’t bad now it’s awful

*2026-03-19, version 4.3.0*

This app used to be so easy, functional and convenient and now it just lags and has weird bugs.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Mr Cool

*2026-07-14, version 4.3.0*

I love this mini split. It works so good in the summer and winter

### 5/5 — Great for Cabin

*2026-07-11, version 4.3.0*

I have 2 zone unit at my cabin. After getting Starlink, I was able to install the smartlinks in both head units. Now I can monitor the temperature and turn on the AC or heat a few hours before I come up so it’s more comfortable when I arrive. Amazing!

### 5/5 — scott called me from mr cool great customer service

*2026-06-11, version 4.3.0*

i had issue i left a review they called me and helped fix it next day thanks Scott!

### 5/5 — Easy Installing

*2026-05-17, version 4.3.0*

I gotta say I was extremely nervous on making this a project, but it was so simple so easy to I stal and operate. I highly recommend Mr. Cool!

### 5/5 — Ease of installation

*2026-04-06, version 4.3.0*

Pretty easy to install.

### 5/5 — App

*2026-02-13, version 4.3.0*

Great app so far

### 5/5 — Quality

*2026-01-24, version 4.3.0*

Awesome product all the way around. I’m going to buy some more multi splits for my next rental!

### 5/5 — Worth it!

*2026-01-12, version 4.3.0*

The setup and installation is not for someone that doesn’t have any knowledge or common sense. If you slow down and take your time you can do it. It is not something that happens in minutes. If you read the instructions there are items you will need from the hardware store, but nothing major. Once installed the set up was easy and it works wonderful! Will most likely be purchasing another one for a project already started.

### 5/5 — Easy Install & Saved Money

*2025-11-24, version 4.3.0*

The install in my garage was very straightforward and the unit has saved a ton of money so since installing last May to replace 2 portable units.

### 5/5 — Works great!!!

*2025-09-20, version 4.2.9*

I got my Mr.Cool heat pump heating and cooling ductless mini split under the Inflation Reduction Act rebate program. It costed me nothing and as working class dad it’s been a huge help keeping the house comfortable and it’s extremely energy efficient. I have saved a good amount on my electric bill thanks to this
