### 5/5 — Excellent App !!!

*2011-09-25, version 1.1*

Really easy to use and very useful for photographers. It could have the option to type the hour instead of using the bar. Another useful tool to be added is the possibility to type the elevation and the app shows the time (backward calculation). Golden hours for photography is between -6deg to 6deg. Thank you very much for this app

### 5/5 — Perfect for photographer or videographers

*2011-06-19, version 1.1*

Works great...we use it for scouting photo/video shoots. It impresses our clients!

### 5/5 — Great app

*2011-04-25, version 1.1*

Great app! Simple and easy to use.

### 5/5 — Very nice

*2011-04-19, version 1.1*

Hard to believe this a free app. The user interface is well thought out, making the app easy to use--no instruction manual needed. Selecting a position using a map rather than entering coordinates is a nice touch. A minor suggestion is that I'd like to see coordinates displayed in decimal degrees; they're easier to work with.

### 5/5 — Elegantly simple!

*2011-04-18, version 1.1*

Use it when looking at homes to see if you'll get too much summer sun, or not enough winter sun.

### 5/5 — Tells me everything about the sun position I need to know. Perfect app.

*2011-02-27, version 0*

I can't think of any other features I would want.

### 5/5 — Mr Sun is fun!

*2010-12-19, version 1.1*

Mr Sun review:
Mr Sun is a fun and insightful app. The new update has higher display quality that is noticeable even on the third generation ios device.

### 5/5 — In the days of the Palm Pilot, we had an APP

*2010-12-04, version 1.0.1*

In the days of the Palm Pilot, we used (as Real Estate Agents) an APP that allowed us to show our clients, on-site, where the sun would rise and set on the horizon. Believe me, it sold more cottages than I can count as those features (if the sun sets in the wrong direction) would just kill a deal (and rightly so or else why buy a cottage?)

In looking around, now that I have moved to a iPod touch, many of the free programs were just rehashes of "Here's where the sun is" or " Here's where North is" but none took the time to inform you of where is would rise in the winter vs the summer nor allow you to see if there would be obsticles in the way of enjoying the sunlight.

Until this APP, I was seriously considering creating such an app as it was invaluable to the Real Estate industry, The Solar industry and also, believe it or not to the RV industry. This APP is just so well done ... and free to boot .... Well, heck, it's nearly perfect ....

Imagine being an RV'er for a second. You arrive early evening in the park and have to "Park" the RV. You have solar panels attached to the top of the rig and use those the next day to recharge your batteries or you'll have to use your generator and disturb the neighbours (and they really really hate that believe me). In order to make sure the RV is parked in the correct direction to receive the maximum sunlight for re-charging, you can haul out this APP, see where the sun will be coming up next morning BUT, more importantly, see where the most amount of sunlight will be and at what angle for tilting the panels! Absolutely perfect for getting things right.

Real Estate ... imagine being able to be on-site, bring out the Touch which you pre-set for the Lon/Lat on the map at the office (it really does need to store multiple places to be perfect but still) you get it out, point to the horizon and say" the sun in winter sets there and the sun in summer sets over there" You just made a sale as those unknowns are the things that make you a friggin genious ... Not just attentive to detail, but an Agent whose gone beyond everyone else in the crowd. It's just soooo true ....

Setting up solar panels .... Placing them for maximum usage on a property? This thing is perfect (relates back to the RV example.)

3 Things .... #1 allow multiple sites to be stored so that a full days work can be done at various sites. #2, develop it a bit further so we can use the built in camera and see the path of the sun overlaid on the camera screen to be able to see obstacles in the way of the sunshine during the day and #3, charge for this APP when you do. Programmers of this level of excellence deserve to be paid .... I'd pay and that alone should make everyone get it while it's free LOL

### 5/5 — Well designed, accurate, and effective sun positioning calculator (and free!)

*2010-09-01, version 0*

I work in an industry where solar position based on date and coordinates is very important. Am I ever happy that I found Mr. Sun! Interactively plotting solar azimuth and angle based on a 24hr time slider and wifi-based map positioning, this app is well designed, esthetically pleasing, and fast to use. Although more limited in scope than other a few other paid apps of the same nature that are currently available, it is a useful tool for my iPod Touch toolkit.

One suggestion I would make for future versions would be to allow map locations to be bookmarked.

### 5/5 — Thank you

*2010-03-10, version 0*

This app seems to work perfectly, so far. I'm truly happy to have found this.

### 5/5 — Très bien - Very good

*2010-02-25, version 0*

Fonctionne très bien au Québec; très intéressant

### 5/5 — great app!

*2010-02-17, version 0*

easy&quick to use, thanks!

### 5/5 — Love it!

*2010-02-12, version 0*

I have always wanted an app like this!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Lokatie

*2010-03-31, version 0*

Bij lokatie en juiste tijdzone verzaakt deze apps totaal. Jammer

### 3/5 — Okay for what it does, but...

*2011-08-02, version 1.1*

It would be much more useful to some of us if it included civil dawn and civil twilight times for pilots (and the nautical versions for sailors).

### 3/5 — Good app!!

*2011-01-04, version 1.1*

All in all, quite a good app and very accurate too. However it would be nice if you could put the current times altitude / azimuth to scroll along automatically (real time) instead of having to put it to the correct time manually each time. I think then it would be a 5 star rating app. maybe you might want to consider this for your next update......

### 4/5 — Bug

*2013-07-22, version 1.1*

I like the app, but it won't save the custom location, and that is with the option to auto reset location turned off. It's a pain to pick the location every time it's launched. Add to that, the compass likes to point east, if it points anywhere at all. Needs a little work, but overall a good app.

### 5/5 — MrSun

*2014-03-25, version 1.101*

This simple appearing app is absolutely amazing! It is because of its simplicity and ease of use that this is a great tool for house design. I was attempting to design the overhangs for shade production in the summer in a house remote to my location. By using the map, I could transport myself to that location and analyze the height and angle or the sun for any hour and day of the year. This is an amazing app and I would recommend it for anyone who is ever in the sun, including marine navigators wishing to calibrate their compasses.

### 5/5 — Just what I wanted

*2014-03-14, version 1.101*

Nice app. I am making a sundial and this is just what I was looking for to personalize it for my latitude and longitude. Also I'm just a geek who likes having this data.

### 5/5 — Simple but effective

*2014-02-23, version 1.101*

I wanted an app to gauge sun position throughout the day to give me an idea of the plants I should use in the garden. Works great. Simple and effective.

### 5/5 — Nice!

*2014-02-21, version 1.101*

I use sun angle calculator all the time to determine sun angle on a specific city. This is it! Thanks guys!

### 5/5 — Brilliant.

*2014-01-31, version 1.101*

Thank you for updating this. The broken compass works again!

Seriously folks, this doohickey is a must-have for the serious photographer, painter or architect!

### 5/5 — Excelent FREE app

*2012-09-08, version 1.1*

Thank you guys!!!
God bless.

## Most praised reviews (4 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — LOVE IT....

*2012-06-29, version 1.1*

Brilliant app for finding out shading in Pv solar arrays...

### 5/5 — Excellent Ap!!

*2012-03-30, version 1.1*

Works great. I use it to track the sun angle for Vitamin D absorption. I look for an angle above 50 degrees and try to get 15-20 minutes of sun with no sunscreen. If below 50 degree angle all day, I use UVB bed or liquid D3.

### 5/5 — Every photographer should have this app.

*2011-11-09, version 1.1*

Elegant simplicity, and a bargain at twice the price!

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2011-11-03, version 1.1*

Easy to use and accurate
