### 3/5 — Good fundamentals but lacking certain features

*2026-07-24, version 8.0.14*

Card scanning is really fast and accurate and the organisation systems are pretty good.
Needs feature to allow adding cards straight from collection to decks.
Needs would be nice if we could save the actual photographs of the cards to ensure buyers can inspect condition before purchase.
Needs feature to allow sorting by set and add to set based folders.
Without these features it is not worth the price.

### 2/5 — Scanner is troublesome

*2026-04-18, version 8.0.13*

The scanner has a huge problem with scanning cards with a lot of black in them. Seems to just fail randomly when scanning cards. You can line the thing up perfectly, clearly able to see all the text and it won’t scan. Go with manabox, you’ll be much happier.

### 2/5 — requiring a mandatory account

*2026-04-16, version 8.0.13*

last update just deleted my collection and inventory where I used to track my personal collection and expensive card prices and it is forcing me to create an account

### 2/5 — Quick but confusing

*2026-04-07, version 8.0.13*

The scanner quickly picks up most cards even in sleeves, the UI is sleek, and I like how it integrates the card art into its aesthetic. However, I have two major gripes.

The lack of integration between the deck scanner and collection scanner is a major oversight. Scanning a card in the deck section should add it to the collection automatically if it’s not already present. I tried to get around having to scan cards twice using the export/import feature, but get an error when trying to import the app’s own exported file to the collection.

My second issue is the lack of deck customization. Either I’m missing something or the app does not allow me to designate a deck type—commander, modern, legacy, etc. This seems like a missed opportunity to support players who enjoy different formats.

I was looking forward to the shop integration, but without these basic features of deck management I think I’ll need to look elsewhere.

### 2/5 — best sleeves, but no format

*2026-03-22, version 8.0.10*

The app has extreme format/display issues when browsing the library. Cards regularly overlap, then as you scroll down further, undo the overlap, pushing you back up somehow. Extremely annoying to use, can‘t see prices most of the time, nor read card effects. App was used in vertical screen if that helps identifying issues.

### 2/5 — Meh

*2026-02-20, version 8.0.8*

They fixed the problem where you can’t enter new cards. We pay good money for this app, the updates shouldn’t break it! List of remaining problems:
Bulk scanner can’t handle black cards. Expect to use the pro scanner separately.
Bulk scanner auto corrects the first entry of a card in the database, resulting in the wrong artwork most of the time.
Database of cards often lags a few weeks behind release. Promos, variants, etc always take a long time to get updated.
Bulk scanner is glitchy, sometimes it won’t recognize a new card, sometimes it goes nuts adding copies of the same card until you intervene.
Bulk scanner can’t recognize anything that deviates slightly from an old time frame. So sagas, showcases, full art, most of these will have to be scanned separately.
Token support lags way behind the main set, sometimes by weeks.
Double sided cards are broken now. Flip button does nothing.
For a subscription app, I expect better. Guess it beats Excel.

### 2/5 — Increasing Performance Issues

*2026-01-17, version 8.0.6*

This app started out really well and I’ve recommended it a bunch! In the last 6 months to a year, however, there has been a great increase of random crashes and scanning issues. I’m writing this now because the app has crashed on me at least 15 times over the past hour or so, on top of the scanner getting stuck on the last-scanned card until restarting. I’m on an iPhone SE 2020 but iOS is up to date and I didn’t have any of these issues starting out, so I’m very disappointed in how the app has developed.

### 2/5 — Missing the mark with the scanner.

*2026-01-10, version 8.0.6*

It can identify cards really well, but can do a quick scan like ManaBox.

### 2/5 — App Buggt

*2026-01-08, version 8.0.6*

### 1/5 — Pay wall

*2025-12-05, version 8.0.5*

So you can either pay for the service and use the scanner that works almost instantly, or you can use the free version that doesn’t seem to work at all.

### 4/5 — Really good

*2025-12-01, version 8.0.5*

I’m really loving the functions of the app but I can’t get my avatar the last airbender tokens to scan in and I can’t find them on the manual entry, are there cards not processed in yet?

Specifically: Ally T 4, 5, 7, 8; soldier T 2, and Spirit T 3.

Help would be appreciated please and thank you.

### 3/5 — Seems great for merchants but major UI and QOL missing for players

*2025-11-24, version 7.5.2*

The scanner is close to amazing but very inconsistent. For example I can sometimes go through 15 cards of the same set in 30 seconds. But then it'll get completely stuck on one card and I’m spending 30 seconds trying from every angle distance and lighting to get the scanner to see it. Then it'll pick up just the corner of another card and somehow telepathically know what it is. Then it'll give me an entirely wrong card other times. Its overall worth using, if it takes longer than 5 seconds just set it aside and type it in later. (Yes databases all up to date)

My biggest disappointment with the app is it feels like it is built for a merchant not a casual player. Extremely simple and intuitive things being overlooked has me scratching my head.

I was hoping for a digital folder where I can easily flip through cards and work on decks from what I have in my collection. But there is no way to build decks out of your inventory. Or vice versa. You have to scan cards once for your inventory and scan them again to be in a deck. The two features are completely independent with no synchronization between them.

The best you can do to work around this is ignore the deck building feature entirely and only have lists of scanned cards instead. That way you can look through what you have and send it over. Which would be okayish, but that will dismantle any permanent organization you would assume to get from something digital.

Also major QOL: There are 3 ways to view your cards. A grid, condensed list, and an expanded list that shows prices. Why is it that if I want to bulk select cards from a condensed list I have to tap twice. Once to expand each entry and then again in order to select it? All just to show me the price ranges of a less than 25cent card?

If I wanted to view them that way I would've clicked the button to have them all expanded in the first place. And I don't sell cards. I do not care or need to be reminded that this card is $.08 and this one is $.25 If it was worth anything I would know already. I bought it. It would be way more helpful to be able to customize what is displayed. Either relevant card information or prices.

And better yet to not auto expand making it take more than twice as long than is necessary when you are trying to quickly sort from a list. There could just be a button on the entries to expand it if you wanted a reminder instead.

### 2/5 — Something is broken

*2025-11-24, version 8.0.5*

The latest update appears to have broken the card view. It lists one card per letter in the alphabet, for a total of just 26 cards. Please fix this as soon as you’re able!

### 2/5 — Good scanner, one major issue

*2025-11-13, version 8.0.3*

I love this scanner as a way to organize and export my collection to csv for buy listing. The issue is once cards are sold removing them from your inventory is a painful and arduous process.
There are two options that I see. Either marking it as sold, where you are then required to input a price before moving on, or deleting it. In both cases when I am sorting alphabetical and by set and do either of these, once done it jumps all the way back to the top of the list and I have to scroll all the way back down to find the set I was working in. Every other aspect of this app is so well done for speed during input, I don’t understand how this part was overlooked, but I hope they can change it. An option to select multiple cards at a time or to import another csv list to remove cards would be huge. Otherwise good app if you don’t ever plan to remove cards from your collection.

### 4/5 — Great scanner good to mediocre card values

*2025-11-07, version 8.0.3*

So for this app the scanner is second to none. It hits the card every time (you still gotta make sure it’s the right series and number). The only issue I have is the card values. It will say a card that is over 50 cents is 0 cents and other price issues like that. Had a 3 dollar card on TCG listed as worth one penny on here. If they could sync the scanner and cards with TCG’s actual prices this would be an unstoppable app. Or if Dragon Shield got with TCG to allow TCG to utilize this scanner in their app then it would be amazing.

### 1/5 — Pro Scanner it says… Savannah, my card is not.

*2025-11-06, version 8.0.3*

Loved this app. Even paid the subscription price for it. Was annoyed how it hates certain angles, borderless or foil cards. Sleeved? Don’t even think about it.

Saw they introduced a “Pro Scanner” update. Got excited. Tried it on a card. Savannah. I WISH it was a Savannah.

### 1/5 — I got this app because it lied.

*2025-10-28, version 8.0.2*

This app says it scans cards but it limits the number of scans.

Do you scan cards or not?

### 1/5 — Can’t scan

*2025-10-26, version 8.0.2*

Every card I try to scan comes up as a land of some kind, even when it is not a land.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Scanner is Fixed

*2026-08-24, version 8.0.15*

You have the scan the card by lining up two boxes perfectly. It has to be at a certain height. Kinda annoying if you’re using your card scanner box, it won’t work. You can’t scan the card because your phone has to be 2 inches from the card. If I have to manually hold the card and my phone, the app isn’t really designed for streamlined methods, I would just rather manually type it in and search that way. Rendering the scanner useless.

### 1/5 — Boo!!!

*2026-08-10, version 8.0.15*

This App WAS Phenomenal!
They moved everything to Sorted, which is horrible!
I moved my collection to Mana Box which is superior!

### 1/5 — Gescante Karten verschwunden

*2026-04-07, version 8.0.13*

Absolute Zeitverschwendung.

### 1/5 — Glitch or intentional paywall model?

*2026-03-06, version 8.0.9*

Was the best app. Supper fast and only gave me an ad between every 6-12 scans. No big deal.

But now there seems to be a glitch where I will scan one card, then try to scan the next but the first one pops up automatically again. The app will do this again and again until the ad appears.
Only after the ad can I scan a follow-up card.

So I'm basically getting an ad after every single card scan in the form of a glitch that repeats one scan multiple times over.

Been using it for years but this kills it for me. Need to find another scanner.

### 1/5 — Depressed to write this

*2026-02-27, version 8.0.9*

This app used to work great, I used it for years and recommended it to everyone I could. Unfortunately it’s gone down hill over the last year. As of right now I have had a support ticket open for a month, requesting updates regarding my problem weekly. I heard back once and responded back in a hour to try to fix a problem that has made the app virtually unusable for me, and got no reply. At this point dragon shield has lost my faith and support

### 1/5 — Premium Not working

*2026-02-15, version 8.0.7*

My wife and I are using the app to scan our collection. We have paid for premium and it says that it is good until March 1st but we keep getting notifications that we should try premium and bulk scan will not work. It was fine 3 weeks ago, now in the last couple of weeks it has not worked. We have tried resetting phone, logging out/logging in, restore purchases and noting works.

### 1/5 — Broken

*2026-01-19, version 8.0.6*

Ever since the last update, cannot add any cards, the button to add a card just brings up the folder controls. App is useless right now

### 1/5 — Filters doesn’t work

*2025-12-21, version 8.0.6*

Paid subscription is worthless given the filters doesn’t work properly.

### 1/5 — Incomplete for an European collector

*2025-12-15, version 8.0.6*

When will this app detect card language??? And choose price source (like card market)

### 1/5 — Interessante App, absolut falsche Preise

*2025-12-13, version 8.0.6*

EDIT:

Keine Ahnung. Das macht die Wertermittlung leider ziemlich nutzlos.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Phenomenal! A+++

*2026-05-20, version 8.0.13*

The Scanner in this app works so well that it will even identify cards in a Manga book! I have been reading a series of manga called "Destroy All Humans! They Can't Be Regenerated" which centers on MTG in the late 1990's. The books are a story of players that play MTG in Japan and the culture of MTG at the time and depict actual cards from MTG. The cards in the book are in black and white and sometimes too small difficult to discern what card is being shown. This app will scan and identify the card in spite of these differences. The only time I ever have trouble scanning a card is when there is too much glare.
I also use it to keep inventory of my cards, which is easy to do since I don't have to type any cards in, I just scan and save!

### 5/5 — Best collection/scanner

*2026-02-13, version 8.0.7*

Really good at scanning cards and keeping track of your collection. I refuse to use any other card app!

### 5/5 — Loved it!

*2025-08-27, version 7.12.4*

This amazing app helps me keep track of all my cards and keeps me up to date on all the card prices.

### 5/5 — App sempre top

*2025-04-19, version 7.9.1*

App sempre top

### 5/5 — Great For Tracking

*2025-03-31, version 7.9.1*

I have my whole collection in here and have little to no problems for the most part as others have put the scanner can be selective with certain cards and colors but that’s easy enough to get around. My main problem is secret lair cards are added really late after release so I have to keep checking if I can finally add them to my collection.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2024-12-02, version 7.6.1*

Good value for a working scanner and collection tracker. The market functions are nice to see how the cards I’m thinking of moving are looking day to day.

Only concern is that when logging in with google sign in on the app, it doesn’t seem to recognize me on the DS website/store and doesn’t sync dragon rider points.

### 5/5 — Easy to use, fun to watch your collection grow

*2024-07-11, version 7.2.1*

Easy to understand, easy access to sleeves. No complaints here

### 5/5 — Feature request

*2024-04-12, version 7.0*

The app is great. But please : add support for apple shortcuts
An shortcut to scan an card and get it's data to use for other stuff would be awesome
Example : I would use an shortcut to scan my entire deck and register it on an txt file or moxfield

### 5/5 — I like the new design.

*2024-04-11, version 7.0*

I like the new design, especially the structure of the home screen. Keep going!

### 5/5 — Super utile e funzionale

*2024-01-13, version 6.2.2*
