All the songs have a vamping effect that you can turn off if you don’t want to rehearse that part and it plays the vocal parts on the piano (you can turn that off as well)! Is it labeled that in order to hear sound your phone has to be off silent and most of the time when I’m using the app I’m at school and I don’t want my notifications going off for everyone to like here and be a distraction so my phone’s not to be silent. It took me a week and a half to figure it out ### 3/5 — It’s okay *2026-01-08, version 1.1.4* I need to know how to play vocal parts I can’t hear my part to practice it ### 4/5 — I fixed it I think *2024-10-15, version 1.1.4* So I’ve heard a lot of people complaining about how no sound came out of the app, but that happened to me and it turns out you just can’t have your phone on silent mode, it needs to be on ring or it doesn’t work. After I figured that out, the app was really helpful! ### 4/5 — Very useful *2024-07-30* Flexible, but things I’d like to see added to enhance user experience: 1) be able to create a default track mix for each show (it’s annoying setting it up every time) 2) I found the loop feature for practice. And I had just the thing I needed it for BUT I wanted to include the final bar in the loop. No way currently to make that happen. Please allow END or something similar as an option ### 3/5 — Works Kinda Well *2024-07-06* I’ve used this app many, many times and it works well enough. 2 improvements that would make it instantly better are these: 1. It should keep your phone awake while it is playing a song. 2. There need to be a button to move to individual measures forward and backwards. The drag bar is too insensitive. For example if there is a Grand Pause. You should be able to jump to the next measure without having to type it in. ### 2/5 — Has potential, but is currently pretty awful. *2024-05-10* Our school used this app to rehearse for Beauty and the Beast. Our music director cut lots of small things throughout the show, which is a feature not possible while just listening to the Broadway versions of the songs and therefore is helpful. However, everything else is very terrible. More MIDI instruments instead of the same annoying piano sound for every part would work wonders (even if the digital instruments sound awful)! Vamps don’t work right and it always sounds like something broke every time somebody has to frantically rush over to their phone to move on. Also, why does the software stop when your phone turns off? This in combination with the vamps issue means that somebody has to always sit by the phone connected to the speaker in order for everything to work right. Your ringer also needs to be on for some reason. Receiving a text means the music completely stops for a good two seconds. Rhythm always sounds off; it feels clunky and low effort and really throws off the more musically inclined members of the cast. Finally, why is there no good way to see the lyrics while playing the music? I feel like that’s a given. TL:DR - In theory, this app could be really good, but is extremely low effort and misses many features that should be no-brainers for an app of this kind. Doesn’t have much going for it. ### 3/5 — Inconsistent between devices :( *2024-04-11* Why won't it fully work on my iPad? Current update is complete: 17.4.1. Works perfectly on my iPhone. ### 4/5 — Great App, Just One Problem *2024-02-21, version 1.1.2* First of all, I’d just like to state that I LOVE this app. It’s been a life saver in my high school’s production of Legally Blonde: The Musical. As the grateful actor portraying Warner Huntington III, I’ve returned time and time again to this app because all the songs are in the right key and it includes numbers you wouldn’t find on Spotify, YouTube, etc. But, I do have one main fly in the ointment that annoys me. It doesn’t allow you to listen to the music in the background. Allow me to elaborate. Say I’m practicing my part in Gay or European, and I get a text from my mom saying she’s leaving from the store. The second I tap on that notification, the music stops and and can’t keep practicing. Also, my phone shuts off from time to time from me setting it down or even not looking at it. If my phone shuts off, the music stops unlike on music streaming platforms like Spotify or Apple Music. It shouldn’t have to be hard to use this app. Hopefully the devs see this and try to make this change. Also, why do a I have to have my phone not be on mute (silences typing sounds) for the backing track to be heard? Also, the vocals for Mean Girls are all empty. Everything else that has audio works but not this app. So, I’ll turn off my notifications alarm and then be interrupted by notifications while rehearsing. Now one could just adjust device settings or turn off the screen save mode, but really? Maybe for a 2008 user experience but 2023? Hire some devs and get this feature/bug implemented. ### 1/5 — Bad UI and unreliable *2023-09-03, version 1.1.2* The UI and navigation is very poor, but more importantly it’s completely nonfunctional. One day, it just stopped playing any sound. App delete and reinstall wouldn’t help. The fact that it isn’t available for use on laptops further proves the point that it isn’t actually intended to be a useful program. The creators of this and the individuals pushing its use instead of allowing theater educators the freedom to access high quality tracks on the device that works best in their space should be ashamed of the way they are making excellent theatre less accessible in the communities they “serve.” The rights holder monopoly has gotten out of control. ### 1/5 — Delete and reinstall *2025-10-28, version 1.1.4* Been using the app for five weeks now and I have had to uninstall and reinstall because the music disappears.
