And… I was not expecting this level of quality. This program is like the best features Telix with some magnificent quality-of-life upgrades, such as a very detailed dialing directory! Plus, if you're feeling extra nostalgic, there are various screen filters such as "CRT Curve" which emulates the curvature of old CRT monitors, and "Scanlines" which emulates the scan lines of the same! It can emulate a lot of different terminal types, too, such as EGA 80x25 or ANTIC. And does it look beautiful? You better believe it does! I have but one single complaint about this program. The sole complaint I have is that when using an external keyboard, holding the Backspace or Delete key does not auto-repeat the removal of characters. But, that's it. I just hammer both keys if I need to delete something quickly, so it's a very minor complaint. Otherwise? It's perfect! Thank you so much for this wonderful and unexpected program! The iCloud sync of the directory between iOS and macOS is a very nice touch. Using the swipe keyboard to post on a vintage 1980s BBS is wild! I only wish the “two spaces period and automatic capitalization of the next word” worked in MuffinTerm. That’s a very small complaint though. I heard about this from another BBS user who mentioned it. I’m surprised someone wrote such a great app for a niche like accessing vintage BBSes, but I’m so glad they did. If there was a paid version, I would’ve been happy to pay. ### 5/5 — The best Mac product for BBSing *2023-03-02, version 1.2.1* Admittedly, it's a niche product but it fills this niche perfectly. Having an iOS version as well is an added bonus. Accessing the BBSes I use from my iPhone was wild. The sticky notes are a nice touch for saving your login credentials since I didn't see any macro capability. Obviously, that's not safe for modern credentials but you shouldn't have the same credentials on a 1980s BBS as you have for your bank. :) Adding ATASCII was much appreciated since I call Atari BBSes. I like the fact that it feels like a Mac app. Hopefully, it will be kept up to date as Apple inevitably changes things. ### 5/5 — Brilliant! *2023-03-01, version 1.2.0* The quality and attention to detail is amazing. Hard to replicate, the atascii emulation is second to none I have ever seen. As close to real hardware as you can get with outstanding iPhone iPad and Mac OSX usability but feels like a retro term program. Modem has been around since 1990 and modem and Modem since 1980. The issue is not with the bbs but with Muffinterm. I tested it using some of the other telnet clients and it works fine. ### 3/5 — Fun but Zmodem has issues *2024-07-15, version 1.2.7* Works great. Fun for quick BBS sessions. Bur under iOS… often bbs got a bot protection you have press twinge ESC key.. Oder navigation work with the courser keys.. Without a external keyboard on the iPad it will not work… Please add a special key strip on the virtual keyboard. However MuffinTerm is missing some features, preventing me switching to it. It doesn't seem to stay connected in the background for more than about a minute, whereas similar apps can stay connected much longer. Many services have moved to the Internet, and MuffinTerm offers TCP connections. It doesn't support SSL / TLS connections, so it's lacking the security demanded by the modern Internet. ### 5/5 — Nice!
