### 5/5 — Great practice app!!

*2024-03-13*

I really like this app! It is intuitive and easy to use, and it has really helped me focus my practice sessions on the areas where I think I need the most work. I use it every day. It’s great to be able to track how much time I’ve spent practicing various exercises. The built in metronome and notes sections are also a real plus for me, as is the ability to custom name (and later edit or archive) the various exercises. Another plus is that I can time my practice sessions on various exercises in two different ways, either using built-in times (e.g. 1 min, 5 min, 10 min, etc), or a using simple stopwatch. If I had only suggestion for the app developers, it would be to add a 2-min interval for timing. Sometimes 1-min is just too short, and 5-min is too long. That is not a complaint, it is merely one user’s suggestion to improve and already fantastic app. Thanks!

**Developer response:** Awesome!! Thanks for writing in. I've implemented 2m (and other short) timers, please shoot me an email or join the Discord if you have any other requests!

### 5/5 — AMAZING product!

*2023-12-08, version 1.12*

Love this app- keeps me on track and ready to go!
It is very satisfying to see the things I am working on come off my daily list. I love the built in metronome as well. Excellent organizational tool that keeps me accountable .I always resisted paper journaling ...this works much better for me.

### 5/5 — Excellent Practice Tool

*2023-12-05, version 1.12*

Mujo is an excellent tool to keep track of your practice sessions. Whether you're self-taught or following a guided lesson plan, Mujo will become an essential tool to keep you focused and progressing on your music journey.

### 5/5 — Great app all in one and effective

*2023-12-04, version 1.12*

I’ve been using this app for several months now and it has become an indispensable part of my practice. It is pretty eye opening how efficient it has made practice and I’ve improved steadily even when I have less time. THIS is the tool that helps you use all the practice habits that create efficient and effective playing.

### 5/5 — The music practice app I’ve been looking for

*2023-11-06, version 1.12*

I’ve been using Mujo for several months consistently and it has been the only practice tracking method I've been able to stick with. It is fast and simple, while allowing me to track individual exercises so I can track not just how long I practice but what I practice. Within each exercise, I am able to quickly add notes to help me track different variations to ensure that I’m not spending too much or too little time on any one variation. It’s also helping me even out my practice so I don’t tire myself out on exercises or an etude before I start my repertoire work. And it’s very handy to have a metronome always at the ready, without changing apps or even changing screens.

I’ve used other practice trackers and felt they were cumbersome or only tracked the session as a whole. Mujo is the app I’ve been looking for. And as some very conscious about data privacy, I love that the app collects no data.

### 5/5 — Encourages you to practice more

*2023-11-03, version 1.11*

I got this app and until I started using I didn’t realize I wasn’t practicing quite enough. I keeps track of your practice time using daily and weekly bar graphs.

### 5/5 — So much content

*2023-10-18, version 1.10*

I know this is listed as a metronome app , but it is so much more! It has so many features! I find new things each time I use it. This is so useful!

### 5/5 — Nice app

*2023-10-11, version 1.9*

Mujo is great, really like being able to track my practice time.

### 5/5 — Great Practice Tool

*2023-10-10, version 1.9*

Mujo is an excellent addition to my practice routine, It is a must have app for any musician beginner to professional level. It’s ability to keep track of practice stats is a great way to visual and build efficiency in your practice schedule!

### 5/5 — I teach guitar and I highly recommend this app

*2023-10-02, version 1.8*

I have no less than 6 music apps on my phone that I jump between during my practice sessions. My metronome only does one thing. I record videos of myself practice. I have some journals to record what I worked on this week. I use a clock app to time myself. It's a lot to shuffle through.

Mujo folds those into 1 spot. It’s a great tool for musicians who don’t want to flip between tons of apps. Reflecting on my practice routine is important. I sometimes can get stuck on one practice exercise - particularly one I enjoy - and skim over the things that are hard.

The timer is my favorite part of this tool and it fixes this issue! The timer lets me know if I’m spreading out my time evenly.

With these tiny adjustments I’ve optimized my routine. Some guitarists fall into the trap of “I practice for 12 hours a day” but I’m of the belief that if you optimize, a focused twenty minute session can be all you needed. Mujo helps me stop flipping through apps, and it focuses on both my practice content and practice efficiency.

If you want to work smarter not harder, then Mujo is your weaponof choice. Highly recommend.

### 5/5 — The first journal that works for me

*2023-09-29, version 1.8*

Creator here - this app has easily 10x’ed my efficiency, and I dearly love this app. It’s a ton of fun and *easy* to track my practice time (eg average per week); since starting work on it I’ve logged a total of 788 hours! It’s so much faster to take notes in the middle of practice (eg two taps to take a voice note, instead of pencil & paper), and it’s great to have tempo saved for all my various exercises I practice. I can now show up to lessons much more prepared with intelligent questions, and can show my teacher how much time I’ve logged to various pieces. I really hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2023-09-24, version 1.8*

It’s a great app, very simple and pleasant to use. I don’t use all the features but I love the metronome and timers. Thank you!

### 5/5 — Useful for training other than music

*2023-09-21, version 1.8*

I have adapted this app for my record kedping when I practice my dog training. I am enjoying using it and find it very helpful. I entered my own skills to practice and plan what I will do, sometimes use the timer for duration of stays and the metronome for rhythm while heeling, when I need to maintain rhythm for straight lines, turns, slow, fast…. When i am finished training, I make comments about what actually happened. THANKS so much to the developers.

### 5/5 — Amazing app!!!

*2023-06-25, version 1.0*

I love this app so much. I’ve never been able to practice journal before, but the graphs are making it so fun and motivating. There are a lot of other tools I’m still figuring out, but I think even the basics make it worth every penny and more. I wish it looked nicer on my iPad, but that’s just a nitpick. Thank you :))

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Not ready for prime time

*2024-08-03, version 1.16.1*

It’s always risky buying a new app site unseen. I can see that there are mostly five star ratings and the screenshots looked pretty cool. It also appeared to combine a number things relating to practice - note taking, metronome, and tracking. I also liked the idea that different components of practice such as scales could be tracked. I hope Jon the developer is reading this because I would love to see him improve on the following:
1. Make the app more intuitive. It’s very difficult to understand how to create notes within a practice session that are different notes than those you can create for practice items. 2. Add a calendar or allow the app to interface with a native calendar such as iCal or Google. 3. Add a recording feature that allows practice items to include recorded clips or those items or practice session components such as vibrato or scales. Add some basic instructions somewhere. I spent way too much of my practice time trying to do simple things and I am tech forward so I’m pretty good at trying to figure things out without a great deal of assistance. Disappointing in its current form. Could love it if it gets improvements that any music student would look for in an app of this kind.

### 3/5 — Good but needs some improvement

*2026-01-13, version 1.22*

I really like the concept and the simplicity of the app. After using it for a few days, I realized that it has an important limitation (at least for a musician like me who uses different apps during a practice session): the time keeper and the stopwatch do not work in the background unless the app’s metronome is on. Yesterday, I practiced with a backing track for 40 minutes, but the app recorded 3 seconds. A couple of days ago, I practiced with another musician. I started the stopwatch at the beginning of the session, which lasted 90 minutes. When I returned to the app, the stopwatch marked 5 seconds.
It would be very helpful if the app could track practice time while other music apps, including one’s favorite metronome app, are being used or when the device (iPad) is not actively used. In those cases, the time keeper should include a sound alerting the user when time is up. Additionally, the user should be able to manually edit the time of a practice session in the event they forget to stop the stopwatch. Please add these features, which can significantly improve the app. Thanks!

### 4/5 — Pequeñas mejoras

*2024-07-02*

### 5/5 — Incredible tool for guitarists

*2025-03-15, version 1.22*

This app has had such a big impact on my practice in such a short time. I will be using it for years to come. Can’t recommend it enough!

### 5/5 — Perfect

*2025-03-13, version 1.22*

Looks great. Easy to use. Exactly what I’ve been looking for in a practice app.

### 5/5 — Simple yet feature rich.

*2024-11-11*

I enjoy the very clean UI and love that you can use just as a click or a full fledged journalling tracker. The granularity in settings is great while not being too complicated. I would recommend this app to anyone practicing to a click.

**Developer response:** So happy you’re enjoying it! It’s super important for me to keep it useful as “just a basic metronome”. Some users may adopt the more complex features over time, or they may not, and that’s perfectly fine. Happy practicing!

### 5/5 — Great practice app!!

UPDATE-2
I miss the “mini metronome” that was removed from the main page in the most recent update! I used it frequently.

UPDATE-1
The developer added the additional timers mentioned below. Thanks!!!!

### 5/5 — Great App!

*2024-08-03, version 1.16.1*

I am in music school and I used this DAILY! It is very user friendly and it has automated GRAPHS. I’d say it has been completely implemented into my practice and it’s just as easy as 3 clicks to choose your subject to practice and to set a timer. HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!

### 5/5 — Gamechanger, nothing else like it, will make you practice better / longer

*2024-07-26, version 1.15.1*

I’ve been using Mujo for one full week now, and I don’t think I’ve ever been excited for an app. Before the review, a fact: since using this app I’ve practiced at a minimum of 2 - 3 hours a day for the last week, after decades of never coming close to that time. And the practice has been more focused and organized. This thing has some kind of Pavlovian magic – gets you in the zone to practice, it gamefies the process, and it is very neat and intuitive. It remembers your metronome tempo settings for anything you are working on, and gives you a visualization of what you worked on, how long, etc. Very satisfying to use, and kind of addicting. This app also is cut from very different cloth than the typical journaling apps with clunky interfaces, over engineered and crammed with so much functionality that you’d be better off just using a small notebook. It gives the user credit for having intuition, and seems to understand how a person will interact with the functionality: Mujo as a journaling app stands out in that the basic interface is as barebones as possible, which works out of the package so elegantly, but the user can “discover” new features by exploring and experimenting (and expand your interface! This is so cool). I’m seriously considering using this app for work timetracking I love the interface so much.

### 5/5 — Very Cool

*2024-07-09, version 1.15*

This product is great! It has a built in metronome and features that track the total you’ve spent practicing a subject matter. The stopwatch and countdown feature keeps track of all the time you spend practicing a subject.

### 5/5 — Excellent practice app

Super simple metronome and practice log but it really has improved my music practice. I’ve got about 100 hours logged with it now and just really like using it.
