The back button existed but was effectively unusable: it was hidden in 3- and 4-pane layouts, the timer bar covered the navigation controls in the other layouts, and on some sites it stayed disabled even when you could go back. We have fixed all of this - the navigation bar (back/forward/reload/bookmark) is now always visible in every layout, with the timer moved into the same bar to reduce clutter. The fix (version 1.3.4) has been submitted and will be available shortly.
