Made company names disappear in company-only contacts
Upon merging contacts, contacts named with only a “Company” field (without a “First Name” and/or “Last Name” field) apparently have the company name stripped from the contact—after I tried merging a sample contact, the merged contact appeared only with its phone number and no company name at all. When I went back to my regular Contacts app, the contact previously titled “Widgets R Us” was refiled under its phone number, “800-987-6543,” after the merge—the app erased the “Widgets R Us” name altogether. I’m just glad I tried it this out on a random business contact first, or I’d be MAD that this happened with all of my business name–only contacts. I did not try out the merging on a contact with both a first/last name AND a company name, so I can’t speak to how that might work out.
In any case, there are a zillion other contacts apps that will merge for you. Save yourself the potential headache and use one of those instead.
