## What is Multifactor?

Goodbye, Password Managers. Hello, True Account Control.

Traditional password managers are for storing passwords. Multifactor is for securely sharing and controlling your accounts.

In today's world, sharing is broken. With passkeys, biometrics, and 2FA, our accounts are more secure but harder than ever to share with family, teammates, or assistants. You’re left with the insecure choice: send a password over text, or don't share at all.

Multifactor fixes this. We turn any online account into a secure “checkpoint link,” making account sharing as easy as sharing a Google Doc, but safer than any alternative.

Share Access, Not Secrets: You never have to send a password over text again. Multifactor lets you grant specific, revocable permissions to anyone you trust.

Granular Controls: This is real control. Give your assistant access to your email but not the ability to change settings. Let your accountant view your brokerage account but not make trades.

Instantly Revoke: Project over? Roommate moved out? Revoke access with a single click. No more changing passwords, logging everyone out, and wondering who still has access.

Your Accounts on Autopilot: Multifactor is built from the ground up for the future: AI agents. Sharing accounts with non-human actors is a new challenge that no one has solved—until now.

Coming Soon: Multi, our AI assistant that can securely use your accounts for you. Imagine telling your phone:

"Multi, pay my credit card bill." "Multi, find all my flight receipts from last quarter."

Multi will log in and perform these tasks in a secure, isolated browser. Your credentials are never exposed, not even to the AI.

Use it Everywhere:
- Share email and calendar access with a rotating team of personal assistants without worrying about unauthorized edits.
- Allow a financial advisor to manage clients’ brokerage accounts without ever needing their passwords.
- Share Instacart and Netflix accounts with roommates, with the power to easily add and remove people.
- ...and whatever else you can dream up.

Built by Trusted Experts: Security is our DNA. Our founding team includes a Ph.D. computer scientist and former CIA officer, and a Ph.D. mathematician and former NASA scientist. We built Multifactor because we believe you deserve to be in complete control of your digital identity.

Free Forever. The version of Multifactor you’re using today—for secure sharing with humans—will always be free. An enterprise plan and developer APIs are coming, but our core promise to you remains.

Download Multifactor and take back control of your accounts.

Bug fixes and UX improvements

### 1.3.0 — 2026-06-02

- Various bug fixes
- Dark mode support

### 1.2.0 — 2025-11-04

This version introduces some fixes to minor issues:

UX:
- When users would login, they would sometimes receive multiple verification emails with their 6 character codes. This problem is now resolved.
- Pressing the "go back" button the email verification step on the login flow would bring the user back to the original page, but would then not let them bypass the 2FA step when they were not using an account secured by 2FA. This problem is now resolved.

UI:
- Minor UI changes have been made so that all app UI elements appear properly on screen and are not made too small.

Features:
- A basic preliminary version of Multi, the account using AI assistant, has been added. It supports only a small collection of accounts.
