### 4/5 — Was working great but …

*2026-06-26, version 8.1.2*

It seems it’s no longer authorized. Have tried updating my token. Logged out and Reddit won’t let it browse anonymously or let me sign back in with it.

### 4/5 — Great app when it works

*2026-06-26*

Trying to refresh the authorization after repeatedly getting 401 error and it’s not working. I log in without a problem and am asked if I want to give permission to MultiTab. When I click Accept, I am taken to a page on the Reddit site that’s blank except for { } at the top. And I’m still not logged into my account.

I love MultiTab for Flickr and never have any problems. I paid for the Reddit MultiTab, but at this point can’t access my account.

**Developer response:** Unfortunately, The app is currently down — Reddit changed API access for third-party apps and ours was cut. We've applied for continued access. Details on r/MultiTabApp.

### 3/5 — It stopped working

*2026-06-26, version 8.1.2*

It’s throwing a 404 error and telling me that I need to login again but when I do I get two brackets on the top left of the screen, {} so I guess my very long streak of using this app is over?

### 3/5 — Great way to view Reddit but not in light mode

*2026-05-16, version 8.0.8*

If you use dark mode on your iPad, this is really useful. If you use light mode, the text that gets posted shows in pale grey on white, which is just dumb!

### 4/5 — Cannot log in

*2026-04-21, version 8.0.8*

Opened authorization denied, please fix.

Looks like the app has been block by Reddit.

### 3/5 — Something has gone wrong

*2025-11-20, version 8.0.3*

New posts are not showing up on really busy subs. I see them on the official app, though.
I do love this app, though.

### 4/5 — Need some UI improvement but the UX is correct ✅

*2025-09-01, version 7.9.4*

I like the way that can auto-swipe media with your own customization… maybe it’s the point of further amelioration.

BUT, Right Now: GOOD YOU SHOUDL TRY IT!

### 3/5 — Okay

*2025-02-06, version 7.8.6*

I can’t figure out how to access communities that have been joined. I don’t see a way to access chat. Using a web browser seems easier to me.

### 5/5 — Learn to use it, you’ll agree that it’s amazing!

*2024-12-30*

Once you take the time to learn how to use it, it can’t be beaten! I just switched from Narwal after Apollo closed down (rip Apollo) and this is great! It does have a little learning curve however, I can browse Reddit twice as fast like never before. All for a really cheap price (API usage cost a fortune).

The only challenge I have currently, is playing sound on some gifs but other than that, this is amazing!

### 4/5 — Good app but missing features

*2024-11-29, version 7.8.6*

In general it works really well. The interface is frustrating and not always intuitive, and there is no support or forum or user manual or anything.
Can’t save or unsave posts? No idea, there’s no documentation.

### 4/5 — Is there any updates can improve these issue?

*2024-11-25, version 7.8.6*

I’m using MultiTab for Reddit, but videos often play without sound or are converted to GIFs. Is this a known issue or a setting I need to adjust?

### 5/5 — Best app for Reddit.

*2024-08-27, version 7.8.5*

A responsive, very fast app to browser reddit. I like a lot switching amid subs, alternating by card scrolling to grid mode, by very intuitive gestures. Once tried, it becomes irreplaceable.

### 5/5 — Great

*2024-06-13, version 7.8.4*

It’s a great app except you can’t post from it

### 5/5 — Brilliant

*2024-05-24, version 7.8.4*

Excellent alternative to the Reddit App, give it a try.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Funktioniert nicht mehr

*2026-06-27, version 8.1.2*

App kann keine Verbindung zu Reddit mehr herstellen. Fehler 401

### 1/5 — http 401

*2026-06-26, version 8.1.2*

http 401, App not usable anymore.

### 1/5 — App won’t finish installing

*2026-06-26, version 8.1.2*

I’ve used the previous versions of MultiTab for Reddit but started getting a 401 error. I tried deleting the app, then reinstalling. Now the install hangs when I press “Accept”. A blank Reddit page opens up with only two brackets:
{}

### 1/5 — Not able to reauthorize

*2026-06-26, version 8.1.2*

After many years using the app, now it said the authentication token expire and I cannot login again.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t Work

*2026-06-25, version 8.1.2*

Will not log user in

### 1/5 — Ads

*2024-05-18, version 7.8.4*

You can’t permanently purchase the app.

### 1/5 — It works is the highest praise I can give it.

*2024-05-03*

Lots of rate limits even when barely browsing, losing my place when switching apps, and inability to load images if you try to find your place if you rapidly scroll past 50 posts to get back to where you were make this app only slightly better than the official app but that’s not saying much.

This app is more annoying than it is good.

### 1/5 — Reached api limit even after paying? I need a refund

*2024-02-12, version 7.8.3*

I’ve had this app not even 5 minutes, i tried it and bought the paid version and it still keeps popping up “too many requests api limit reached” or something. I would like a refund please. Idk how to request one on iPhone I’m used to using android

### 1/5 — Not a free app

*2023-12-18, version 7.8.3*

Warning: you’re allowed to use this app for like 1 hour before it blocks access (to Reddit! Which is free!) behind a paywall.

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2023-09-25, version 7.7.9*

The gestures barely work on this darn app. And even after paying the $6 I still get pop ups telling me I’ve passed the API limit. What a load of garbage.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Was great now not working

*2026-06-28*

Have been using the app for years. Everything has been fine. I noticed for the last week or so the app has not been working and has been giving me an error when I login. Does anyone know what’s going on?

**Developer response:** Unfortunately, The app is currently down — Reddit changed API access for third-party apps and ours was cut. We've applied for continued access. Details on r/MultiTabApp.

### 5/5 — App not working anymore… For now.

*2026-06-26*

This app was fantastic until a few days ago. It is no longer working at all. Hopefully a fix is coming soon.

### 5/5 — I love this app so far

*2026-04-23*

Only had it for a week, but at the moment I'd say Multitap is way better than any reddit app I've used before. Bulk image download, downloading without opening posts, media view, so many awesome features.

### 5/5 — Too Good for Reddit

*2026-04-06, version 8.0.8*

Make a Mac app for this. It is so good on iOS!

### 5/5 — Best Reddit viewer

*2025-08-03, version 7.9.4*

The multi tab subreddit is the only way to use Reddit for me now.

### 5/5 — amazing

*2025-07-27, version 7.9.4*

### 5/5 — Really great!

*2025-05-07, version 7.9.4*

A wonderful Reddit app that seems to have slipped under the radar. Try it!

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2025-05-02, version 7.9.4*

Wonderful program. Fast surfing of Reddit.

### 5/5 — Great alternative

*2025-02-23, version 7.8.6*

This seems to have come under the radar - but it’s a great Reddit client, intuitive and feature-filled. It’s been my main client of choice for months now, and I hope it continues!

### 5/5 — This app helped me to goof my goober

*2025-02-18, version 7.8.6*
