## What is Mumr?

Mumr is a free meeting recorder for iPhone. Put your phone on the table and tap Record: Mumr records the room and transcribes it on your iPhone. With iCloud Drive on, finished meetings are also copied to your own iCloud Drive; one switch in Settings turns that off. By default, summaries are written on your iPhone too; pick a cloud AI with your own key and that provider receives the transcript, with the meeting's title and date. There is no Mumr account, and your meetings never pass through a Mumr server.

WHAT MUMR DOES
• Records in-person meetings, interviews, and lectures with the iPhone microphone, up to three hours at a time.
• Keeps recording with the screen locked. A Live Activity on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island shows the timer and a Stop button.
• A phone call pauses the recording instead of ending it.
• Transcribes on your iPhone: with a speech model you download once (about 500 MB, Wi-Fi recommended), or with Apple's built-in speech recognition, which needs no extra download.
• Shows each meeting with its audio, transcript, and summary. Rename or delete a meeting, copy its transcript, or share the audio and a Markdown file.
• Keeps your recordings as files you can open in the Files app, under On My iPhone.

PICK YOUR SUMMARY
Mumr runs no AI of its own. You choose what summarizes each meeting, and you can switch any time in Settings:
• Quick highlights: the default. Lifts a headline and key points out of the transcript, on your iPhone. No key, no account, no network.
• Apple Intelligence: runs on your iPhone, on models that support it. No key or account.
• Your Anthropic, OpenAI, or OpenRouter key: Mumr sends the transcript to that provider, and they bill your account. Your key is kept in your Keychain.
• None: keep the recording and transcript, skip the summary.

PRIVACY
• Mumr records, stores the audio, and transcribes it on your iPhone. With iCloud Drive on, finished recordings are also copied to your own iCloud Drive; turn off "Sync to Mac via iCloud" in Settings to stop that. Deleting a meeting on your iPhone keeps its iCloud copy.
• iOS shows its microphone indicator while Mumr records. Mumr records only when you tap Record.
• Choose a cloud provider and Mumr sends it the transcript text, with the meeting's title and date, under your key. Their privacy policy applies. Quick highlights and Apple Intelligence run on your iPhone.

No Mumr account. No Mumr server. No subscription.

WHO IT'S FOR
You want notes from the meetings that happen away from your desk, and you want to decide which AI, if any, sees them. Mumr is for founders, consultants, researchers, journalists, and students.

REQUIREMENTS
• iOS 26 or later.
• Microphone access.
• Speech recognition access, only if you use Apple's built-in speech recognition.
• Optional: an Anthropic, OpenAI, or OpenRouter key, or an iPhone with Apple Intelligence.

Mumr is free. There are no in-app purchases.
