## What is Mural?

A new language starts to feel familiar when you use it. Mural gives you a calm place to speak, pause, try again, and keep going. Talk about everyday life, pick a theme, or simply say hello.

Mural responds in the language you’re learning. Show meanings when you need a hand, type a reply, or ask for a simpler explanation. After each conversation, revisit the words you used and the moments you want to remember. Practise learned words with flashcards: tap to reveal a meaning and swipe between cards.

Practise Norwegian Bokmål, Spanish, English, French, German, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, Mandarin with optional pinyin, Serbian, Greek, Tagalog, Dutch or Russian. You can choose a separate language for meanings.

Your learning record stays on your iPhone. Export a backup to keep it or import it on another installation.

Eligible installations can try up to 10 free conversation minutes while trial funding is available. Sign in with Apple or Google to buy one-time minute packs where available. Purchased credit does not expire; the displayed duration is an estimate and actual time varies with voice and teaching usage.

You can also use your own OpenAI API key; OpenAI bills usage to your project. An internet connection is required. Mural sends audio and selected text to OpenAI for conversations and meanings, and does not store raw audio.
