## What is Murmur?

Follow spoken language as it happens.

Murmur turns speech into live translated captions, so you can keep up with a tour, conference talk, lecture, class, demo, or sermon in another language.

Choose a source language and target language, then tap Listen. Use Phrase Mode for short, deliberate speech or Continuous Mode when someone keeps talking. Murmur shows translated captions as stable speech is recognized and can play translated speech when speech output is available.

Murmur supports English, Arabic, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Korean, Russian, Hindi, and Dutch — with right-to-left support for Arabic.

No account or saved transcript history:
Murmur has no accounts, login, profiles, or cloud transcript history. Microphone audio streams only during a live session. You can stop or cancel at any time, reset your anonymous Murmur identity, and delete local Murmur data from the app.

Murmur needs an internet connection and a microphone — that's it.

Murmur uses AI speech recognition, translation, and speech generation providers. Translations can be delayed, incomplete, or inaccurate. Do not rely on Murmur for emergencies, medical, legal, financial, immigration, or other high-stakes decisions without a qualified human interpreter.
