Only feature I wish they’d add is a graphic eq with optional vinyl-centric presets for even more authenticity. Deep with customizations, get as in-depth as you like. Your mileage may vary, and it takes a little investment of time, but I like to add albums (& singles!) that I already physically own, so I have my record collection in a pocket-sized, ready-to-travel form. Streaming music has changed the way we listen, sometimes not for the better. I really like how you can swipe forward and backwards as well. I love the virtual “crackle” that you can dial up or down to really give the sounds of a vinyl record player. It easily allows you to “vinylize” your playlists from iTunes, and when I was had issues with my music not playing correctly, I contacted the developer and the developer worked with me to resolve the issue. This app doesn’t ask for a monthly subscription, and you can open the full version for an extremely reasonable price. If you are looking for a vinyl record player simulator that will make your music sound like its being played on an old school record player, this app will not disappoint. Download it you won’t regret it! ### 5/5 — Add to your “Essential iPad Apps” list. *2024-04-25, version 10.6.1* Vinyl Fetish has revolutionized my modern music listening experience by taking me back to a really happy time in my life where everything revolved around friends and vinyl. The first thing I do when I come home from work is to attach my iPad to my Stanmore Marshall-styled Bluetooth speaker, turn off the auto-lock, and start playing records. The option to add hum, crackle and pop is so realistic that I honestly feel like I am listening to the record. I spend a lot of time just looking at the artwork and truly enjoying my music again. Highly recommended to anyone who understands the joy of vinyl but doesn’t have access to play their own collection on a real player, and to everyone else with a curiosity about what album-oriented music consumption was like before CDs and streaming killed that world. Side note: I recommend reading David Hepworth’s “A Fabulous Creation” for a deeper understanding of the humble LP. ### 5/5 — Feel real *2024-01-28* This is definitely for us old heads that missed the old days. I noticed as a big music lover that I wasn’t as invested as I used to be. The reason was it just to much out there and it thrown on the internet. I missed art work, I missed being force to listen and not just being able to hit a button and not invest the time. So a couple of years ago I started looking for apps to bring that back. Video cassette apps, cd apps, vinyl apps and for years I couldn’t find anything worth it. Until recently when I found this. It was everything I was looking for. Vinyl sound, you have to flip the record like a real record and the best of all ART WORK. The back with the track listing and the art. You don’t realize you miss something till it is gone. I went back to listening to ALBUMS more then of songs. I listen to music on here more then on Apple Music… the only bad thing is, it isn’t the safest to used when you’re driving and have to change side on the record lol. I hope more people get this cause I can see more update happening to make this a better even more authentic feeling app. **Developer response:** Thank you!! Hint: you can use Siri with the app for safer driving. Try asking "Play next side in Vinyl Fetish". If this works for you, you can create your own shortcut with this action and rename it to define the Siri command as you wish. Email me if you're unsure how to achieve this. Another option that doesn't require aiming for specific buttons is to use the two-finger double tap over the player to turn over the current record, and then a double tap to start playback. Cheers! ### 5/5 — 5 star *2024-01-02* Thank god this app was updated today I was having a problem where the last version was freezing and crashing but now since the app was updated today it now works great on iOS 16.7.4 **Developer response:** Edit: Fixed in 10.4.1. --- As for having to select the one record you will play next, and having to switch sides manually, keep in mind this is by design and part of the appeal for those who love the vinyl format warts and all. This is the only app that captures the experience of playing vinyl to the point of these "inconveniences", intentionally. It’s very customisable and looks fantastic. I love the fact that you can add and adjust the amount of crackle and wobble to a record too. As a vinyl lover I could only wish for an app which can customise an album- but it seemed wishful thinking-only until I found this app (vinyl fetish). It brilliantly (almost magically) turns your digital album into a ‘record’ with 2 sides. And you can always see the album cover along with the record-something only a true vinyl lover can think of integrating in an app-very thoughtful! The app is free but if you also want to experience the vinyl crackle sound, you have to buy this feature- which will make it just the perfect app-and I think paying for this feature is totally justifiable, looking at the awesome features it provides. The app is easy to use and works well (with only minor glitches). I’ve waited to write a review to see if it actually works and up to this point it does. I know the market for this is pretty narrow but if you are looking for a hybrid between vinyl and Apple Music this is it. I’m going to buy the premium version because I feel like they’ve earned the money. It does what it promises by making your digital library appear as spinning vinyl. However, unless the feature was removed recently, I was wrongly promised that the app would allow me to add the distinctive vinyl cracking sound to my digital music. I have not found this option in an hour of using the premium version! **Developer response:** Hi! Find it in Settings / Behavior! Send me feedback via the app if you have any issues! If you did I'd appreciate if you updated your rating! ### 3/5 — Nice, but can’t filter only full albums *2022-12-05, version 8.1* I really like the app and had high hopes for it. But the one thing I think is key to an app that focuses on Albums is to be able to show me only full albums. If you have a lot of random songs you’ll end up with thousands of “Albums” that are not really albums. Just one or two songs in a playlist somewhere. This makes the Albums view unusable. If you’re going to follow the analogy of real vinyl albums, then you should go all in on it. My albums are only full albums like I would buy at a Music Store. You cannot buy a piece of an album. The random ones would be like the old mix tapes. They’re basically a playlist on tape and not mixed with my Albums. ### 4/5 — Incredible!! Looks great and does what it’s supposed to. Great customization options. Really a standout effort! Love it!! A few fun suggestions: make the background customizable to a textured surface like a table and provide option(s) for realistic looking turntables: victrola, suitcase player, table top player, console, DJ booth, etc. Provide an option for grabbing record (using finger) and doing some DJ scratching. Not readily available as a playlist anywhere, but Apple Music which is the important music app to have with this app does have a playlist readily supplied by one of their subscribers. Add this to the Apple music library, then cross reference to Vinyl Fetish, download as an album with vinyl conversion. Yes, put those extra scratches in and you’ve got a playing vinyl record on your iPhone. This is playable even in the car. Mojo does provide a set aside CD with all the music, but this is Genuine vinyl! An absolute treat, and you can broadcast it onto your TV And pretend it’s paying off your vinyl record player.
