I discovered this app while looking for info on how to set up lyrics, and was blown away. This beats the crap out of navigating my immense music library using the remote for my firetv cube that I have my Kodi install on. It’s very well thought out, and pretty simple to set up. The feature set is deep and thus far it seems pretty solid. It even has a shortcuts feature to switch between multiple Kodi servers (and we have two of them). This app focuses on the music. Love the cached library, ease of queuing, but most of all the widget for super quick control of Kodi. Two suggestions (sorry :-) first: tap & hold an album etc to get an add to queue shortcut, second: shuffle albums (tracks in albums are in order). The iPad app really shines with a view of whatever I want. Like a list of Albums and then Artists all at the same time. Usually I can't make up my mind and go back and forth. No more. November 19 2016 Marcus continues to enhance his app adding improvements to the functionality and user interface. This app provides an incredible user experience with Kodi as a music player. For those new to it Kodi is an outstanding music player playing all formats and HD resolutions. Kodi Music Remote provides the best access to a music collection that is unsurpassed by any music app I have seen. Marcus is a dream developer. Taking user feedback and consistently building feature requests in the app. My favorite is a shortcut function added so I can control the server easily without going into the settings. And now allows an easy switch from server to server. I can't stress enough the outstanding combination Kodi and the Kodi Music Remote make for a music playback system. Just the best! Update 4.0. July 1 2015 This update adds terrific new functionality that Marcus received from users. His attention to detail and user wants is the best. This app is near perfect. Bob Silver Original Review version 2.xxx I use XBMC as a client on my hifi. Laptop connected via USB to a DAC to play hires music. Controlling this in a nice way without all the other xbmc aspects interfering with my experience was a desire of mine. Found this remote and was just what I wanted. Started with the free version but them immediately bought the Pro. For $1.99 was worth it just to support the developer. Plus it's totally worth it. Developer seems responsive from what I can tell adding features and bug fixes. No problems here. Set up easy and fast. Works perfectly. The Pro version has one feature that for me makes it worth the price. The ability to initiate a library scan. I use a NAS for my music and often update it. This way right from the remote I can do this. Great. I had used itunes remote with iTunes. But iTunes doesn't play flac files. Xbmc plays everything. Very happy. If you want a music remote get this. To the developer. Not crazy about the colors you use. Be great if they could be changed. Also if I could do an album view that be nice. Right now it appears artist and genre on pro are my choices. Please consider letting us control our karaoke libraries as well. I understand that 16.x doesn't support karaoke, but many of us are still on 15.x simply because we love our karaoke too much to upgrade. Man muss sich natürlich darüber im Klaren sein, dass diese Fernbedienung nur für die Musik-Steuerung gedacht ist und nicht für die ganzen anderen Kodi-Funktionen. Aber genau diesen Job erledigt die App einfach viel besser als das Original von den Kodi-Entwicklern. The app works great on both iPhone and iPad. A few suggestions for future updates: there’s no stop button on the iPad app, only on iPhone. It would be good to be able to select how many albums I can see in recent music. It would also be good to be able to select the background colour, for example to change the standard yellow/brown into a more neutral grey/black/white. I have good surround system with large speakers in my home theatre. Every time I wanted to play something from my music collection using this system I had to fire up projector in order to navigate Kodi. I tried many different remote apps for Kodi but non of them offered music navigation without looking at the screen. Why do I need big screen if I’m looking at phone screen when all I want is to play music only. This app does just that. Great fast navigation using Kodi database. Browsing by folders or artist with lyrics on the phone screen. No need to turn TV or projector on. Full featured Pro version is not that expensive. Für Musikfreunde eine echte Bereicherung. Absolut durchdacht mit sauberer Benutzerführung. So müssen Apps sein. Läuft absolut stabil. Every time I have a music listening session I use it to create play lists ‘on the fly’ (in real time). Being able to search and find great songs and albums while listening to music (without interrupting the current song or music video) is very nice. I can’t believe how easy this is to use app and how much it’s changed the way I listen to my great collection of albums and music videos (mostly concerts in HD video and 5.1 surround).
