### 5/5 — Courses

Fire

### 4/5 — Really good so far

*2025-08-28*

The note composition feature is kinda clunky, but otherwise very useful

### 5/5 — I’m amazed

*2025-08-14*

I’m amazed by how good this app is. I was trying to find an app with comprehensive information about music theory and I am happy I discovered this course. Thank you💚

### 5/5 — Love this app

*2025-08-11*

This of a really great app got beginners of any instrument wanting to learn basic (and more complex) theory

The format that the lessons and quizzes are provided in is very accessible and easy to use. The only thing I wish is that the app had more sections about more topics.

### 5/5 — IN LOVE

*2025-07-26*

Honestly this is all I was looking for! I randomly thought "it'd be nice to have an app where I can just practice some music theory exercises" and now that's all I do when I walk home, travel to work, before I got to sleep, instead of scrolling a ridiculous amounts of stupid reels on social media!!
It explains things so well and every page has a space to leave a comment and connect with other people that have a question or only want to say hi!
It's crazy, best app I've ever had on a phone, ever!!
Enjoy it, if you're downloading 🌈🌈

### 5/5 — Solid app for free

*2025-06-10*

I’ve been playing music a while, but was mostly self-taught so I had little knowledge of music theory. While it was hard to swallow my pride, I wanted to go back to the beginning and really try and learn and build my foundation from the ground up. for this being a free app, I have gotten so much more out of it than I expected and would highly recommend to anyone starting on a journey to learn music

### 5/5 — Best Music Theory App

*2025-05-19*

As someone new to music theory, this app goes far and above others in terms of structure, content, and ease of use. And it’s free!

### 5/5 — good for beginners

*2025-04-19*

goes over the fundamentals well and allows forums for other users to explain and help guide beginners, pretty good app

### 5/5 — best

*2025-04-04*

best

### 5/5 — Theory

*2025-03-27*

Great app to learn music theory more quicker than ever. And with exercises and exam for each chapter, its really useful. Waiting for you to add more and more theories.

### 5/5 — Great Music Theory Curriculum

*2023-09-15*

First, this app has lessons that are incredibly well structured with you learning the lessons in a manageable size, and then going to exercises to test that knowledge. The only thing is, sometimes bugs impede progress on the final exams which doesn’t affect learning too much but makes it a little more difficult to track progression. It would also be good to be able to reset the exercises so that if you don’t perform well early on, you don’t need to get upwards of 200+ correct to get a higher grade on them. But the goal is to learn and as someone who has had a constant fear of music theory, this app is teaching me at a furious pace

I’m adapting and learning various concepts including composition which is what got me interested in music theory in the first place. The exercises are locking in the knowledge gained and ensuring that it’s not lost the moment I close the app. I have noticed much greater understanding of musical structure when reading and creating music. I highly recommend it as a quality source of musical education, especially paired with an instrument and other sources!

### 1/5 — Terrible - full of wrong info

*2025-02-14*

I am looking for an app for freshmen non-majors. The best use of this app would be to find the errors through it! M.C. questions with no correct answer; whole rests, half rests, and accidentals written incorrectly, and more. It appears that a non-musician created this. It could be good, conceptually, but it seems as though it was released long before a trained musician edited it for all of the mistakes.

**Developer response:** Hi- I’m a trained musician and wrote the whole course! There shouldn’t be any incorrect information unless it’s a mis-typing or if there is a bug in the rendering or question grading. In those cases, please send over an email or comment on the lesson - I’ll take a look and make any fixes.

### 2/5 — Sound

*2026-05-11*

Sound is not working in exam questions

### 2/5 — 90 percent of page content are comments

*2024-12-24*

The devs of this app care more about showing people are commenting than about making a clean content.

That’s ruining the experience, and I am not using it because of it.

**Developer response:** Sorry that it distracted you. I do consider a big part of the app to be for readers to talk with each other, both for motivation and help. Hopefully the app can feel balanced so it doesn’t get in the way of the personal learning.

### 3/5 — Frustrated

*2025-06-28*

Trying to do this on my phone. Too small of an area and too sensitive to none touch. Wrong notes move when correcting a placement of a note. The edit screen blocks what I’m wanting to edit and the edits the wrong note again.

**Developer response:** Yeah, it is has been a bit tricky to balance the view of the score and the editing. I'll keep working on it. Thanks for trying out the app!

### 3/5 — Quizzes and some UI broken

*2023-12-31*

During quizzes, there are questions where you need to put in notes with accidentals. While adding accidentals and note attributes is not well-designed and can be challenging, this functionality usually seems to work during training sections, but is broken in the quiz section.

I’m interested in continuing to learn, but am put off by an issue that hasn’t been addressed in an update for at least 5 months, since the app was last updated.

**Developer response:** Sorry, I've been busy with my violin teaching lately. But I'm back to work on the app, and this is the first fix I've made!

### 3/5 — Good app. 1 main issue

*2022-09-30*

Great app with a lot of useful information, however it is so easy to accidentally swipe. This is my 5th time taking one of the final exams because I keep accidentally swiping and it resets my progress

**Developer response:** This is addressed now. I removed swiping from the exams 👍

### 4/5 — Decent, but exercises are broken

*2026-05-25*

The content and quizzes are decent, but many of the exercises are broken; it generates a question, but you can't select an answer. There's also a missing circle of fifths image too.

### 4/5 — Wish this was for iPad

*2026-05-11*

Great app wish it was on iPad so I can have a full screen experience

### 4/5 — Music

*2026-01-15*

Every time I try to multitask like go out to go to another app then come back in I’m unable to hear the sound once I go out of the app then come back in.

**Developer response:** Thanks for the report. I'll need to look into this, I heard some similar reports from other users of the app.

### 4/5 — Great, but needs tweaking

*2025-12-02*

I love this app. I’m practicing music theory wherever I go, and for free, which is awesome! But the interface needs a lot of work, namely the portions where to create the sheet music. The builder constantly jumps back and forth across the page, it adds unnecessary notes and beats in for you, and takes a super long time to use. I think the base of this app is awesome, and with a few tweaks to the more technical aspects of it I think it could be a great tool.

**Developer response:** Yeah, that was definitely the trickiest part to design and implement. I will continue to work on it. Thanks for the report.

### 5/5 — Great App But May Need Updates for iOS 26

*2026-02-18*

Hello, thank you for this wonderful music theory app, I got to review a lot of comprehensive music theory concepts and do practices. I just want to notify you that after I update my iPhone to iOS 26, the comment function no longer works, and some pictures such as the Circle of Fifth picture in the Circle of Fifth section no longer shows up. Maybe the app will need to be updated to match the iOS system as well? Thank you!

**Developer response:** Oh darn, I will take a look. Thank you for the heads up. As you guessed there can often be code updates require to catch up with new iOS versions.

### 5/5 — Great App

*2025-12-18*

### 5/5 — Theoretically perfect

*2025-11-21*

As a music teacher, I can say this is a wonderful introduction to Music Theory, the lessons are short to the point and the exams are challenging, music is a language and theory is the communication form and this app opens it up for human beings to understand
