### 3/5 — Unable to hear

*2025-09-01, version 2.1.1*

In ear training, I cannot hear the notes for intervals. Can hear for chords however.

### 2/5 — Trapped me got stuck on

*2023-06-19, version 2.1.1*

How do o close this thing!

### 3/5 — Please fix volume issue

*2022-03-14, version 2.1.1*

Any updates on getting the volume for the interval training to be the same as the chord training?

Interval training is very faint, even on full sound

### 3/5 — Volume error iPad

*2022-02-14, version 2.1.1*

Hi great app but there is something wrong with the volume on my iPad Pro, it’s very quiet and when I increase the volume it just gets quieter.

### 3/5 — Volume and Landscape view

*2021-10-23, version 2.1.1*

While the app and idea is fantastic, the program does have some upgrades that would improve the program. One the program opens in a landscape view on phone and does not rotate to portrait view. That upgrade would be beneficial just for increased functionality. Second, the volume does come out very low on the phone and can not seem to find a way to improve that.

### 3/5 — Good for testing, not teaching

*2021-01-02, version 2.1.1*

This app has some very useful features for testing what you already know about music theory. However there are no lessons to actually teach you about music theory. You can learn by virtue of trial and error when answering the test-your-knowledge questions, but that is very frustrating and ineffective. This app is for the person who has already has a strong music theory foundation. It is not that useful for those hoping to build a foundation.

### 3/5 — Lovely app most of the time

*2020-10-13, version 2.1.1*

Lovely app most of the time, but currently there is an audio issue with the intervals. Other sections play fine, but intervals will not sound even with the volume turned to maximum.

My students are all having the same issues with it.

### 3/5 — Great but a bit easy

*2020-10-05, version 2.1.1*

I started using this app to help with my music theory but after a few weeks it started being repetitive and I didn’t even need to think on what the answer was. It helped me so much but sooner or later I won’t be progressing quickly and in the it will be the app I end up using but it is not helping me.

### 2/5 — Popups advertising other app

*2020-06-08, version 2.1.1*

Keeps asking me to view another app. This is a paid premium application, so please remove these adverts

### 2/5 — This is a training app

*2020-04-12, version 2.1.1*

No theory, just testing. Great if you know the material. Useless if you don't.

### 2/5 — Good idea but it does not work well

*2020-03-15, version 2.1.1*

I can’t hear the ear trening

### 3/5 — Ok

*2020-02-29, version 2.1.1*

The sound of the intervals are not working in the new version :(

### 3/5 — good

*2019-11-20, version 2.1.1*

only thing is that tempo interval and scale eartraining doesnt work so fix that please thank you

### 3/5 — Needs a fix!

*2019-09-30, version 2.1.1*

This games volume isn’t working properly. I only get sounds on the chords. Please update and fix!

### 3/5 — Buggy

*2019-09-30, version 2.1.1*

No sound on ear intervals, scales, or tempo. Only sound on chords.

### 2/5 — Broken listening section

*2019-09-23, version 2.1.1*

I would recommend a different app if you want to do ear training. That functionality regularly breaks

### 3/5 — Update Needed. Volume problems.

*2019-07-24, version 2.1.1*

I know the Ringer has to be turned on (which should be fixed) but when you do ear training the scales vs the chords volume mix are painful extremes. This is a good app.. could be a GREAT app that would be something I would pay for if it was overall cleaner/balanced for our new devices

### 4/5 — Best I’ve found, couple of errors tho.

*2019-05-23, version 2.1.1*

Best app I’ve tried so far for people who already have competent theory knowledge and just need some maintenance. 1 or two annoying bugs.

### 3/5 — Moo

*2019-03-12, version 2.1.1*

Mooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Could I have a refund please

*2026-02-06, version 2.1.1*

The app doesn’t seem to be working at all. Please can I have this refunded ?

### 1/5 — Frustrating

*2024-08-27, version 2.1.1*

It’s good for learning, but don’t get fooled. This is the most frustrating app I’ve ever downloaded. Go buy something else instead. (Except if you have a child who is bad at music) It is very hard and it is boring.

### 1/5 — Sadly frustrating for beginners

*2023-10-29, version 2.1.1*

I went on the recommendation of Music 101. As a beginner, I was hoping to find an app that would enhance what I’m learning, instead I find “games” that have zero instruction and teach me nothing. I only spent $5, but when you’re getting nothing for the $5, it’s too much money. Either change the name of this app or vastly improve it by adding instructions, which would make it more user friendly at least.

### 1/5 — App is broken

*2021-07-30, version 2.1.1*

This app was usable a few years ago. Now it stops functioning after a few times thru the chird recognition exercise. No one maintains it.

### 1/5 — Sound does not work

*2021-01-28, version 2.1.1*

Oh the irony. You cannot hear the notes or chords being played that the app is quizzing you on. What a huge embarrassing failure. No one is fixing this app either, yet they continue to sell it despite the warnings of the problems I encountered. Some are nearly 3 years old!!! Garbage.

### 1/5 — Zulmy

*2019-10-22, version 2.1.1*

Whhhhhhy isn’t the sound working ?

### 1/5 — Advertising new app with nag screen. Avoid!!

*2019-08-25, version 2.1.1*

Copy of email sent To the developer.

Well, I doubt you’ll be the slightest bit interested in what I have to say, regardless of the many sales I’ve generated by recommending your MTP app to my Music Students. Your MTP app hasn’t been updated in 2 years (at time of writing. It’s clear your interest lies in promoting your latest app. Please read on:

I take great exception to you pestering paying customers with a pop-up advertising your latest venture, part way through an activity. This happens after three incorrect answers.

Your solution: Don’t get three wrong answers! What a load of rubbish.

You have absolutely no justification promoting your new app from within an already purchased app. I wanted to tell you this before I wrote a review for you on the App Store.

I personally, will never use any of your products again nor will I ever recommend them to my students.

### 1/5 — No sound at all

*2019-03-28, version 2.1.1*

I downloaded this app for a music class I am taking in school. You can’t even hear what it’s quizzing you on? COMPLETE waste of money. Would NOT recommend.

### 1/5 — Small fix needed

*2018-09-19, version 2.1.1*

This app has been very helpful... after the additional app was released (which I paid for to show support) an annoying message keeps coming up every time I get something wrong doing aural testing - suggesting I try the other app. This is exceptionally frustrating as I don’t want to be interrupted. Please fix and I will love this app again!!

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work on iPad Pro

*2018-05-10, version 2.1.1*

Ear training does not work on iPad Pro at all. There is no ringer switch on this device so that does not fix it. Only the chord section works. Considering I just spent a decent amount to purchase the app, I would really like for this to work. I’ve tried everything in the settings already.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great for fine tuning your ear

*2024-12-02, version 2.1.1*

I have loved this app for years. I use it on my iPad with my music students. Everything works perfectly. I love that you can select your own criteria to work on. It is easy to use and very effective for ear training. Bravo!

### 5/5 — Can’t exit the app—but the rest is brilliant

*2024-01-20, version 2.1.1*

I find this app fantastic and simple to use. But I can’t exit the app or even swipe it away. I have to go to the Home Screen and review in the App Store to exit.

### 5/5 — Accountability Helper

*2022-12-19, version 2.1.1*

I’ve used this app for nearly 8 years and it’s a staple with my students. It great for increasing their speed and recognition of notes, intervals, scales, keys and sounds. It makes it very easy to set goals for your students (recognize all complex intervals 100% in less than 15s). They then screen shot it and text it to you for tests.

### 5/5 — APP声音很小 怎么办

*2019-01-30*

声音小 不均衡

### 5/5 — Fantastic app

*2018-05-30, version 2.1.1*

A Wonder music app that has been put together with a great deal of thought and care. It provides excellent and clear exercises. Would strongly recommend this music app to anyone who is interested in music theory and improving one’s musical ear.

### 5/5 — Good job

*2017-12-29, version 2.1.1*

This is a great app! I have experienced no problems with it and it is fun and easy to use! I have learned so much! Great app!

### 5/5 — MT Prof

*2017-12-02, version 2.1.1*

So I really like this app. But it appears this is a problem that needs fixing for many as I did not type anything in quotations and it appeared as I went to write a review...
"Please fix.. I lost sound to intervals and tempos in the ear training section... and after every question I answer there is an ask to go to MT Prof.
Which isn't even available in the iTunes Store. Please fix!"

### 5/5 — The best app of its kind

*2017-02-16, version 2.0.61*

I've been searching for the most music pro app and this one is on top of the rest. If you're interested in 13th and more this is the app.

### 5/5 — A very good app

*2016-03-14, version 2.0.61*

Works all the time. Written by someone who has mastered music theory!!!

### 5/5 — Great way to drill yourself!

*2015-08-27, version 2.0.4*

Great app for reinforcing your skills. I've been using it to practice key signatures and it's been very helpful. One small issue is that occasionally the correct answer will be dimmed-out and unpressable...forcing you to choose an incorrect answer. Not really a big deal. I definitely recommend this app for any serious musician.
